  1. best knob out there in my opinion, i had one and sold it for about the same amount. its not a cheap ally one, had mine on for about a year and there wasnt a mark on it. ally ones scratch far easier.
  2. even the zed has a hair dresser image mate, just depends on who you talk to
  3. i've stuck with jap cars because i know them, and like them, zee germans haven't done anything yet to fully tempt me over to the dark side. i did toy with the idea but they haven't built any "drivers" cars in my price range that i like both internally and externally. was very tempted by the boxster but didn't liek the internal dash, and thats where you spend all your time. agreed audi residuals are silly high the only german that nearly got my money was the Z4M coupe. but still expensive. looks are subjective, to me its a stunner but others find the rear pig ugly.
  4. i wouldn't discount the audi tt-s its a very capable car, and the interior is very nice. puts the zed to shame in that respect.
  5. have to agree with your pricings out of the box new its a difficult challenge, but as soon as you step in to the 2nd hand car market then the playing fields are alot more level. i reckon only 25% of this club can afford to buy the car as new and most will be 2nd hand owners. it really is horses for courses though, different carts, different engines = different driving styles and track orientation. the one issue that hampers the zed is that shes a fat girl. a well balanced well handling fat girl, but a fat girl all the same.
  6. with all the cafuffle i'm going to look at other alternatives, i may end up staying with the wonder phone, but i may end up else where. am also going to check whats due for release, as my contract ends in july i may wait for something new to come out in 3 months if there is something worth waiting for.
  7. all down to personal taste. in stock form i found the zed to rounded and a bit girly ( no comments on my current car ) hence why i did the bumper changes to give it back that aggressive edge. zed is beautiful thats a given, i actually like the new shape audi tt styling in someways more than the 350, the 370 though has upped the game a bit. porsche boxster is a good looking car rx8 isn;t bad looking either all in zed power and price range
  8. imho its down to driver ability, most on here will tell you that its a pig to drive in the snow and you can t go anywhere, but i ran mine all year round and didn't really ahve any issues. snow tyres will make a good difference to the drive as will snow socks . i've driven several rwd cars in snow and have made better progress than others in fwd cars in the same weather on the same roads.
  9. not cow boys; professional bodyshop, the bloke who does it comes in on saturdays and if you bung him some cash he'll do the work for you. i know the place well. plus its not going for a full detail; its just in for the polish. i don't want someone else to do all the work, i want to do it, i just want to pay someone else to do the machine bit. but if it does help i know of other pro detailers that do a full detail in and out for 65-75 quid ranging up to 150 depending on what you have done.
  10. i'm doing my black car this weekend, with it, used to use it on my silver car, so looking forward to seeing what it does for the black. will post up a thread once its done.

    New Toy

nice choice they are great fun and awesome track weapons
  12. 700 for the bumper and 300 to spray it sounds about right
  13. i used 2 triangles of wood, like baby door wedges to pin the handles in the open position for painting. shoved them in underneath and then taped over.
  14. lol i've watched most of their tactics and they make me chuckle, i do like to toy with them. recent one is the copdock interchange roudabout is over the a12, cop sits on the top section looking down slip road, cop car waiting in a layby just before the bridge. the trick is to wizz down the slip road, the jam sandwich on the top calls his mate who then nips out, usually about 1/4 of a mile behind, you can then watch him snake through traffic to catch up with you. he sat on my rear bumper but i was doing the speed limit. its quiet funny because i could see him playing peek a boo in my review mirror as he was hidding behind the car behind me. you then chuckle as he has to go down the next slip road to then go back to his original hiding place. i thought it would be nice to give them something to do.
  15. try swirlx from meguairs. if no luck then get a pro to machine polish for you, place near me will do it for about 50 quid including a wash machine polish, rewash, and wax.
  16. i was told not to use red mist straight after waxing, but to wait 24 hours as it can strip the wax off. after 24 hours the wax has cured enough and it will be fine to use on top.
  17. sounds like you need to look at the suoer charger route. save you spending thousands only to make a few bhp to then realsie you should have gone FI right from the start.
  18. good job cant wait to clean mine this weekend
  19. congrats on the sale, whats the new weapon of choice?
  20. personally if you got the lip i don't think its that noticable. if you put up a pic and said spot the difference and not told me it had the lip on i would have taken a while to notice. but wheels i would have been straight on it. they'll have the biggest visual impact.
  21. I have about 2 months left on my contract. i might upgrade if its that cheap. will have to look into it.
