the longer you drag it out; the less likely people are to deal with you once you pay the traders fee; through out this thread you have managed to assassinate your own character. you may be a great guy in person. and written text is not the best at getting personality across. but the image you paint is not a brilliant one.
nissan engineered engine, sold to the french, and they put it in the vel satis. many companies do it. for instance the new rcz from pugeot uses the bmw mini engine the 1.6 turbo.
it is a great engine, well built, reliable and fairly easy to maintain compared to other V6's personally i always thought their could be more to the sound of the zed, but it wasn't a bad sound. and it produced good power and torque
if your talking about my vinyl sales, you are right i was never a trader, like you i didn't see my self as a business and didn't want ot be one. i instead made several donations to the club which were more than the traders fee in the first place. that of course was between me and the mods, but in the spirit of an open forum (and i'm sure others have wondered) i thought i'd post it.
i've gained alot from the forum; so only thought it fair to give something back; that was partly my skills which club members got at a very reduced rate. and the club got donations from me. i no longer do the work as i don't have the time and haven't sold anything via pm since i poseted up the end of my making about 4 months ago.
hope that helps clear up any uncertain issues for everyone
i use the term muppet as an endearing term;
as for the reference to back yard engineering, that is what it is; its not a control unit box or anything special its a micro switch bonded in the direct path of the locking mechanism wired into the cars door wiring. nothing wrong with it; does the job as stated.
the original plan was a control module possible programmed with PICAXE or somethig similar designed to be a plug and play unit, also including other functions such as mirror change for reversing, and other functions. not really something that is back yard engineered.
i have the equipment to do this at work and i teach people how to use micro controller programming. but i do not have the time; inclination or the car to work on for it. not only that but if i was to manufacture a box it is as i'm sure you and your brother are aware, never going to be plug and play and would require people to have to cut into their wiring looms. this carries an inherant risk; if the modules for some reaosn fail or damage the car its a lot of finaincial issues coming back to bit you/me in the arse. and possibly why austin didn't finish off the project.
what you're brother has done is a good mod; and my issue is not with the mod but the sharing of it on the forum. you mention your build thread. would you have been able to do all those things if it wasn't for the guides others had already written on those issues.
if everyone put a fee on their knowledge the forum would be an empty place full of pointless threads and spamming with no real useful content.
its just not in the spirit of things. my 2p's worth
oh and the honda is going great. really been enjoying the summer and have a couple of track sessions lined up for it already.
cayman S is a beautiful car; absolutely love them, would choose it over a zed in a heartbeat. love the sleek exterior, and as a drivers car its meant to be extremely rewarding. i even prefer them to the stock 911's i'm not a massive porker fan, but thats one i'd have in my garage,
what did i miss? is that the stupidly long thread with a long list of people who wanted folding and dipping etc when locking or reversing the car.
the same one Austin was going to do somethnig but then vansihed off the face of the earth, and the same thread where some other muppet got their brother to do a backyard mod and then charged every one for the privilege.
has it been brought back to life by the same person or someone new?
there is also raggtop cleaner and protector, and another favourite on the S forum is something else which i'll find out and add later.
yes the renovo helps to keep the roof looking black. i usually top it up every couple of months. works as a good UV protector and helps keep the roof clean.
the side badges sit in a recess, with 2 locator holes in the middle; if your removing the side badges you will need to smooth them over.
if you were fitting the zed indicator side badges you will still need to fill either the indicator points or the side badges point.
perosnally i'd only debadge the zed side badge if i was swapping to the zed indicator.
powder coating is a better finish its tougher than just a paint finish. all will be fine as long as they don't bake the wheels above a temperature of about 210 degrees celcius.
i said nice area and garage, if it has a garage, it normal has a drive. and if its a nice area, cars get left alone, etc.
we wont move for a good few years as we like what we have, but the next place must have a double garage, its a must on my list.
A while back some of the private security firms were earning massive paychecks out there, but then it was danger money; and there was a lot of danger out there

I've seriously considered doing this but with my line of work' date=' I'm not in one place long enough to commit to a collage. Maybe a change in career is the stepping stone to doing what i want to do in the long run?
I hope you guys know that the results of this poll will decide my future!?
