  1. Michelin Pilot Sport 4s are great tyres, but are pretty much at the ceiling in terms of cost. From a mid range POV, I had good experience from Falken Azenis. I have Dunlop Sportmaxx GT's all round on mine, and although they are brilliant in the warm, they break traction very easily in the cold.
  2. Plenum alone makes the rev up a little smoother I found, coldel is right though about the HR. But for such an easy to do mod, its worth doing before any remaps take place. By the sound of it, it may have some sport cats already. So now its all sorted, when can you post us some pictures?
  3. A plenum spacer is a good mod to do before an uprev.
  4. I did a bit of a winter check now its off the road for a couple of months, cleaned the inner arches out etc. I also had a look under the bonnet, and couldn't help but notice that with the ac on, i only had one cooling fan spinning. The engine wasn't hot, but I wasn't sure whether they were both supposed to spin, or whether the other one kicked in when it got to a certain temperature to cool the coolant. It's not urgent to fix if it needs a new motor as i guess it won't be driven until March now.
  5. Me too. It's like when I was a kid waiting for my comic to come out on a Monday. 'What's keyser doing this Saturday? Find out Monday on PopZ'
  6. Unfortunately I deal with this kind of thing day to day. People buy a car, and after 2 weeks it develops a fault. The dealership doesn't want to know and just push the customer on to the warranty company who push the customer to Halfords. I agree with not getting second hand cats though when it's not your cash. Get a quote for new cats, fitted, and get the dealer to pay...If you decide to keep the car. They are ace cars, but buying an ex project can be problematic. I try to keep mine on the legal side, I have kinnetix sport cats and they go through on emissions when they're hot. I do get an occasional eml though.
  7. It'll cost a tenner I think, but any MOT station can reprint the certificate, so don't worry about that bit. You just have the emissions print out.
  8. Yeah I didn't have the info, but a site manager or tester can get any mot certificate reprinted, which will have the original test station on it.

    cats and exhaust

My HFC's pass, you just gotta make sure they're good and hot 1st.
  10. Sorry not been on, I have an mot card as I rub a test station, it means I can print off certificates and get more info on test sites. Then I just googled the test station, they don't have cars listed for sale.

I assume DE, 56 plate rev up by the sounds of things.
  12. 2 threads going? As per my other response, you can get the selling garage to pay a local garage to put the car right. We have done it a few times. Choose a national chain, and you'll get nationwide guarantee. I logged on to the mot portal, the MOT station isn't the selling garage. It's illegal to pass a vehicle not on site, so its either sort it locally, or commute unfortunately.
  13. It has to be said as well, we encourage questions, even if its been answered elsewhere. The amount of forums I've been on where all questions are answered with 'use the search function ass-hat' is quite high. I've been around 2 years now, and don't think I've ever seen that. getting a high post count is easy here as every one is so helpful and friendly.
  14. Its also illegal to put a pass on a vehicle when it isn't on site, even if its just a retest on something they fixed. So for them to pass it, it needs sending down to them. Also, the MOT centre doesn't appear to be the selling garage, maybe it's worth calling the test station, to see if the vehicle WAS returned? Jetpilot is right though, you have to give the dealer chance to rectify, but in my experience, they'll pay a garage local to yourself to put the car right. Halfords do free safety checks that is an MOT without the headlight alignment and emissions test, get the dealer to agree to pay to have the car made road worthy or you'll return it, trading standards are involved, and you should hopefully see some traction.
  15. I had last years (this years i guess) calendar, and I was very impressed with the quality. Don't think supermarket home made photo's of the kids you give to your gran, think well made professional found on the high street quality. For what you pay, they're easily worth it.
  16. To quote Deadpool: 'this guys got the right idea, he's wearing the brown pants'. Dan has obviously used the same philosophy.
  17. My uni fees never bothered me, although it was before top up fees were introduced. I got a student loan which I've nearly paid off. I think we need fees though, the lecturers need paying a wage, plus the general running of an institution all cost money. The problem with no fee's and Uni's that take on everyone is that we end up with surpluses people with degrees, meaning we end up with more unemployed post grads. I have an English degree, and I would probably have got where I am today without it if I'm honest
  18. Then how will people know? They might not recognise the new shape?
  19. I'm pretty sure the ratio of people to farmable land is wrong here too, to not rely on trade. We could have a mandate that suggests everyone sacrifices 30% of their garden for alotment purposes. You have to grow a portion of your greens, or provide your own egss. I like lots of countries, but it makes sense to trade with those closest.
  20. Yeah cuz seating is where I always fall down when trying to convince the SO of the next car I want . Got to say, I'm not a hater, I had fond boyhood dreams of 911's ever since my uncle took me out in his and at no point did he ask me to hold anything. I did a red letter track day thing where I drove one as well as a Ferrari, and I desperately wanted the Porsche to be better(it wasn't). Nowadays though, I don't think it would feature on my wish list. Not to say I don't respect them.
  21. I agree the bus has implications emblazoned on the side rather than promises, but the bus wasn't the ONLY place where such promises were made as Coldel has stated. That aside, will our manufacturing really leave the country, Toyota Nissan etc, or can that be attributed to remainers giving equal and opposite spin the leavers gave at the start? Airbus is also and interesting conundrum, Trent engines built in Derby and sold to airbus where they are transported to France for assembly. Will it become more cost effective for the engine to be manufactured on the continent now, or even adapt the air frame to hold another branded engine? Or will trade continiue?
  22. I know why they do it; to keep as much weight inside of the wheels as possible, but the rear end on view looks like the back end has melted.
  23. That's what she said. Out of curiosity, are 911 bulbs as difficult to change as Beetle bulb?
