  1. No Hypercars at all (no, the Nur Spec doesn't count!!)??
  2. no when you accelerate the weight shifts to the back of the car lifting the weight off the front wheels giving less traction. i didn't know that. Thanks! Worth mentioning as well the hilarity of wings on FWD cars. All they do is make the driving (and steering) wheels lighter, the faster you go! Epic lulz.
  3. In other words, you ragged it past him and there's no way he didn't notice you, judging by the show of piping in your avatar.
  4. Yes and no. Yes, I have to have a RWD car. But also, no. Try a Mini Cooper S, 2002-05 with supercharger, not turbo. I've had a decent variety of both FWD and RWD cars and hold the mini in very high regard. The car just fizzes, from its quick steering to eager throttle response. Owned one by chance in between a 400hp BMW 335i and the Z, and find myself missing it a great deal, I was really surprised how engaging it was and also how rewarding; I used to use lift off oversteer to rotate into the works parking. lol. You really need to get in one for a while to learn them and appreciate them but yeh, really, special FWD driving experience, imo.
  5. tl;dr But I understand this is a thread for second hand bargains? Easy...E92 335i. 2 grand in bolt ons and it'll beat an M3 anywhere except on a track. You're welcome.
  6. The funny parts weren't (especially the american driver, didn't even smile through that whole bit, was just thinking, what the hell have they put a redneck in a modern beamer for? And I'm not a BMW fan either), but the car bits were mostly good. I'm dreading the episodes without cars (2 and 8), if they contain more poor, out of context jokes, delivered badly, I may be turned off. Basically, I'm sorry to say that in every area that they deviated from the old format, they failed to entertain. Here's to improvements in the future....
  7. Hiya, I'm about to order a new main key from nissan, can I ask you what exactly they want 300 quid for? Cheers.
  8. I'm having a euphoric/deep/tropical house revival with a bit of drum and bass piano thrown in lately. No youtube access at work, so I'll have to give you a list... These tracks make me feel happy at the moment (and all have great videos). Sigma's album Life is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G and I'm really starting to have love for Galantis. I might make my avatar the Seafox soon. Powerful: Sigma featuring Paloma Faith - Changing Super Happy: Sigala - Sweet Lovin Move my feet: Galantis - No money
  9. I have one too, in exactly the same place, but a different kind of switch. I haven't bothered to find out what it does yet, still needs more important mechanical work lol. If and when I do, I'll try to remember to update.
  10. After a couple more pages I'll get a spreadsheet done so we can see what car is held in the highest regard by the UK Z community and some other interesting statistics.
  11. My car came to me with these, first thing I did was source some originals. They have a significant bulge compared to stock and ruin the lines of the car, not to mention, the Z is obviously backwards on one side, which does my head in personally, dunno about you. You'd need a super aggressive car for these not to look utterly chav in my opinion. Like I say, I had em free and paid to get rid of em. P.S. What approval is needed in the UK these days? CE? They usually have most of the approvals, don't see why anyone would stop you or give you a problem about them though. Is MOT so strict these days?
  12. Good to know, as I can't remove cats, Greek police do emissions spot checks.
  13. No worries. Not after the nismo spats, going for bumper tuck in rear, no spats at all, show off my fake exhaust lol.
  14. That is a painfully beautiful beamer. I expected an interesting list from you.
  15. Ah, I see. In that case, yes, I guess the H was included as an option or by accident in your case. I don't have a Y, only the H.
  16. I have this section too. So you just used the existing Nissan sections in this place?
  17. Funny you should say that, cos I was exactly 8 when they announced the 350Z and I decided I wanted one. I was 27. I had just moved to Greece only a few weeks prior. My wife had got tickets to a car show at the old airport, was quite a big event, walked around a bit, came to Nissan stand, and there she was up on a nice pedestal, looking exotic as hell for 2003. I said there and then 'it shall be mine, oh yes, it shall be mine', didn't think I'd be waiting 13 years, but hey, the best things come to those who wait! Looks somewhat less exotic now, but it was then and remains one of the best cars all around that you can get for the money, can't ask more than that, really, can u?
  18. Hey Snjur, can you explain please? I know you have some experience with this pipe, right? I assembled it loosely on my garage floor, doesn't seem like anything is extra, I can take a pic tomorrow for you if you want and some close ups of the welds if anyone's interested.
  19. I hardly think that highlights the fundamental difference between an FN2 and a 350z on a wet roundabout.
  20. Quite. It was always about Clarkson's inane ranting and the chemistry between the three of them. I'm looking forward to seeing it, no spoilers please!
  21. Until he navigates his first roundabout in the rain.
  22. As stated, we know it's not the same quality, nor would we expect it be for 1/4 the price of the premium parts. I also doubt the quoted steel grade is accurate, since it's an easy lie to make, only a metallurgist would know the difference. I have it in hand now, welds look good enough, all hardware and gaskets included, there is some crap inside some of the sections, nothing a loofer won't brush out in short order. For sound and looks it's going to be a real bargain for me. It won't get driven in heavy rain and Greek roads don't see salt. Packing was really bad though, they just threw all the sections in a box together, no packing material at all! When I went to pick it up from customs, one of the hangers was sticking out of the side of the box. I mentioned it in my feedback, but still gave them a positive as it arrived in Greece in less than 10 days, which is mighty impressive and wasn't damaged after all. Will post up some fitted pics in a week or so.
  23. Yeh, I'll do that, because his ebay auction says 200 quid, which I think is too much for this product, especially when I need another 30 quid for delivery.
  24. You don't know what I have planned exactly, please try not to be so condescending. I've been modifying cars since I was a nipper (25 years all told now), none of them have ever had anything on them which you could say 'didn't work', I am one of those insecure people who craves approval of my peers, I would not risk doing something to my car that will split opinion, as long as I also like it of course. I know what I'm going to do, I'm 100% sure you haven't seen exactly what I'm planning and I know it's going to look perfect for the look I'm trying to achieve because I ALWAYS have a 100% clear vision of how the car will look when finished before I buy the first part. I don't know what it is about me (maybe low post count?) that makes you guys think I don't know what I'm doing. Besides, you can be sure I will be whoring pics of my car all over the place when it's done, so feel free to let me know what you think at that time if you like.
