You couldn't pay me to buy electric...
GranTurismoEra replied to AMT's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Id say goodluck in whatever you choose. Who do you think is paying for smooth quiet roads to enjoy 'EV' and the soft suspension....Thats when they decide to fix the roads EV drivers will soon become cash cows to equalize the losses in Road Tax. Imagine 50% drop in road tax due to huge uptake in ev...No longer cheap motoring... Introduction of per mile toll for all cars. Another stealth tax to recover the economy. Easiest way from government to make money is delay the ban on petrol and diesel by 5-10 years. EV will result in loss of VED revenue. Start taxing EVs id say. Force manufacturers to look at making Electric cars sub £30,000. -
Hopefully by February March we will get specs and price. Enjoying the Nismo for another year. Other cars I can consider later down the line. Ill probably put on another 6,000 miles by November when the new Z is out. If There is a car in Japan for around £35000 and under it may be worth a look. Ill be saving up just incase one appears at a reasonable price 12 months after release. Since the Z may become a hybrid one day under a new platform. I think its the last opportunity to get a pure petrol Z

https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/industry-news/aston-martin-offer-combustion-engines-beyond-2030 Support Manufacturers offering alternatives. Tbh I think they will veer off into these synthetic fuels. Better than nothing -

https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-news/tech/what-is-synthetic-fuel-efuel/ Alternative fuel is the answer. Choice is better for the environment. We need a balance. Companies like Shell and co should be pushing for this in the fight against what could essentially kill their business in Europe and America. -
while the govt should support businesses like these too....im only going to rate a company that looks into alternative fuel. Apparently a truck of hand sanitizers caught fire and exploded into a ball of strong Hollywood type flames in Cambridge. If that isnt proof there are possibilities I dont know what is. Alcohol, Spirits, Ethanol and Methanol are alternatives. Just getting them under control and the hardware to go with it.

i think they will be around £45,000 so not many. After a year they depreciate in japan knocking at least £10k off so we,ll see. The nismo does the job so no desperation or eagerness to get one. The current car is still unfamiliar to public anyway and nismo looks better

And what happens to the mass job losses.....Since you only need one person in a control room pressing X and O buttons in the office? Dont say retrain in something else as most jobs will be automated thanks to advancement in technology. A lot of so called corporate IT networking jobs will be automated and simplified. Not to mention drivers More strain on the benefits systems from automation and mass job losses. Jobs going to China and India. Parking wardens, Street cleans all replaced by robots. Job losses equals increase on benefit claims, insurance claims, benefit and insurance fraud, increased crime, exodus of skilled labour to developing countries. People also not bothered to work due to further wage compression. Cheaper fares not really, increased dividend payouts from increased profits. No ones doing anyone favours. You may share a ride with 3 others in an autonomous vehicle. It will most likely be the same pricing or increased pricing due to government imposed taxes and newly introduced VED on Electric vehicles. The ultimate goal is to ban non commercial vehicles Electric and ICE from the city center and introduce congestion charges on all vehicles by 2030. That will be replicated across all city and town centers by 2030 onwards.

what you think of the interior of the zp...I think theyll keep it the same for the final version

EU, East Asia and America. Oh and any island trying to keep up. Rest of the world is not really interested. Water, Electric and all the stuff we take for granted are priority ofcourse. Then maybe.. While you're killing off motoring and depriving yourself of one of lifes freedoms other side dont care

The idea of changing relationships with 'autos' is already in existence. Thats why we have popular 3 year pcp and lease. Summoning vehicles like a Cyberpunk videogame sounds cool, and makes us seem like we are in the future. My dream is to have the world dominated by an alternative biofuel especially in developing and third world countries. Not dominated by Electric vehicles. That may be the case for Europe and America. How viable is it for a country where basic Electricity supply is not consistent. In Nigeria people are driving Teslas but they can only charge at home as the network infrastructure is non existent. Some plans are afoot to create public charging infrastructure in countries like Ghana but its not a thing. Electric cars are not realistic in some places. We should be seeking alternative cleaner fuel as well. Technology that aids laziness a word now substituted for convenience, is not really great for a society that is already fat and isolated. Why not speed up that evolution by pushing through convenience tech to feel like were are moving forward to the future lol....

Self driving autonomous cars easily hacked by hacktivists and people looking to cause mayhem Smart cities, self driven A.I cars around Smart cities. Autonomous cabs, CCTV drones and all the things that make a bladerunner themed city. Robot maids, robot police accompanied by judge dredds, private military corporations, guns for hire, increased surveillance and security. Robot soldiers, A.I controlled fighter jets aka 6th generation fighters with mini swarm drones (Tempest). So the Technology race has begun. People are talking about 4k and 8k screens. Japanese, Chinese and Americans are laughing in the background because thats old news. The idea of arming satellites in Space with turrets pointing at rival nations Satellites is not new. America has effectively developed a laser cannon to shoot down jets and destroy boats. While its all fascinating, it will be the downfall of society when they realise all the technology can be compromised. No amount of Cybersecurity will make these fool proof. Then everyone has an agenda. The latest news is some British Athletes have had their iCloud hacked and naked pictures leaked. They cant even protect cloud data. I say good luck. 30mph on the high street. A kid hacks into Tesla systems and takes control of a random autonomous vehicle. Sends a command to override preset routes. Runs over 50 pedestrians on Oxford street. The chain continues all around the city within a couple of minutes before Teslas Cybersecurity regains control of the situation.

They are still there. Hopefully they dont try to leave like Mitsubishi

Not sure I think the Subaru wasnt overly popular. The 86 should still be released in the UK with slightly different styling. The rear looks like a Civic/NSX. I think the 86 will use a different set up to the Subaru. The Subaru having more power. Possibly a different engine. Just hope they dont start imposing restrictions on imports
-
only getting the 86 in UK. The Subaru had better styling shame it wasnt as popular. Its naturally aspirated again and only 228 hp. The GR Yaris will eat it . Its probably toned down because of the 2 liter Supra Interior is a no no. Looks cost saving

Considering trading the Nismo for TTS/TTRS
GranTurismoEra replied to GranTurismoEra's topic in Other Cars
I saw that on the draggy the GTR usually launches in 3.2-3.4 stock obviously very quick. The TTRS is around 3.7 and even quicker with a map....In terms of competition GTRs older tech, also rivals are quicker. Regarding weight im not sure the TT is much lighter than a Z. Its around the same as the Z I think -

lol nahhh its been 15 years admiring GTR from concept...I dont see the big deal anymore....I might rent one next year though...ive already spent £7000 on the Z in the last 12 months. Insurance, parts, petrol, payments....I think GTR will be more and theres no where to really enjoy the car. I remember my older brother saying i couldn't afford it lol...if I was on a mission I would have financed one already....The ZED does a great job and I get to keep my license lol....I can see its no biggie for the American youth to lease a GTR at £xxxx.99 per month .....Not wise right now. Have to see how covid plays out. -
Considering trading the Nismo for TTS/TTRS
GranTurismoEra replied to GranTurismoEra's topic in Other Cars
@Ekona maybe refined was the word I was looking for. Smoother, insulated better, better suspension. @stanski ofcourse test drive is always best way to find out, ZP is ambitious as we dont know what the costs will be. Also the look isnt final its all based on feedback from the states probably. Yeah character is whats missing from many cars. The Mustang is popular here in north west London. Sound, looks, performance great package what both cars can offer -

Great point, the first line got me....tbh its always been a it is what it is car. Some might think he either loves the car or hasnt tried anything else. RWD once the tires start wearing down it becomes a chore in the wet despite improved grip over the 350. Its an alternative take on what it should be. Bar the suspension and stock pads, clutch etc I think its a great experience driving it. A TTS/RS would probably be the more mature drive and somewhat softened for everyday use. Still maintaining the sport/performance side.
