  1. Looks a bit deep for the old T Cut and machine polish. I might be wrong though, hard to tell from a photo. Local body repair shop? Won't cost much to blend that in I shouldn't imagine...
  2. Can you not just live in that? Lovely car, but alas beyond my budget... GLWS
  3. Ha ha I wouldn't be able to even see a zed past an R8, but it is true that the zed is a head turner and most amusing that the majority of folk have no idea what it is... and then look even more confused when they realise it is just a Nissan
  4. I don't want to **** on anyone's chips, but having just bought a zed (again) I can confirm you are asking dealer money (where you'd expect all the issues you've honestly raised addressed). Also, think your photo upload has failed mate. GLWS - if you aren't in a hurry you might get stronger interest in the Spring and prices may peak a bit.
  5. I prefer the exterior styling (lights and bonnet) on the DE but the HR has a better interior. Performance wise, not a great deal in it. A £300 remap on the DE and there is nothing in it. The HR will always rev higher, without big mods, but the DE has more torque.
  6. Will do, thanks. I'm looking to get new plates from Halfords, it seems like their number plate are anti-theft. Will disintegrate when someone trying to remove it, double the price but will save me lots of trouble later needing to proof my innocence. Get yourself some Tar Remover when you are there. Will remove the sticky stuff from the old plates in no time and without scratching the paint work.
  7. Going to a main dealer for servicing doesn't add value to a car after the first couple of years in my opinion. As cars like the 350z get a bit long in the tooth, you'll find most buyers will want to see a specialist stamp in the service book. I recently bought a 2003 coupe with just 16k miles and like you was torn between the coupe and the roadster before buying. Most coupes seemed to have lots of mile on them compared with the roadsters, which was the main draw to them for me... but the coupe just looks better in my opinion. 30k miles on a coupe for example will be deemed as extremely low and you can expect to pay a bit more - which when you think these cars a 10 years + old is quite a find... Some good buying guides on here and do all checks regardless of mileage because low mileage cars have still aged just as much as the higher mileage examples and often with less maintenance.
  8. Please don't stop stopping people. A handful of scammers should not stop good people helping people in need. Just keep your wits about you when you do stop. You can usually tell good people from scum in no time. I have no mechanical knowledge but would always stop to see if I could call someone for them or give them a lift to the nearest services. That costs nothing.
  9. I'm running Michelin Pilot Super Sport on my Zed. Only done a few hundred miles since buying it, but they seem like a great tyre so far. No complaints at all.
  10. I'm a purist in that I like my knob standard. All these after market attempts make your knob look like it belongs to a teenage boy in my opinion. My standard knob is looking a bit worn now though and could do with a freshen up.
  11. Not sure but on mine (import) it's a Snow/Power button. Probably the same as yours. Only down side is, i keep knocking it onto snow when i stop at lights etc. Pulls away slowly all the time. Need to knock it into neutral and then switch it off. Am i right in thinking that is only on automatics. Otherwise it is blank Ah, that might be it...

Need to knock it into neutral and then switch it off. Snow button? I drove a 350Z in the snow when I first owned one ten years ago and if that button works it would keep the doors locked and not let you get in The only snow button in a UK spec car is the traction control - better switch it off in the snow to avoid getting stuck... if you haven't already met a sticky end that is...
  13. My car, a 2003 UK GT spec, has a blanked out button closest to the driver next to the heated seats switches. What option am I missing?
  14. I like that. Looks like they've come on a bit since I had my 2006 Hawkeye. They do sound better than they look though don't they
  15. You let other people wash your car? I wouldn't have that like. Hoy the family Land rover in to the local hand wash lads but they wouldn't get near my zed or my bike
  16. £350 I've been quoted. Full custom professional remap. A new sensor plus fitting is probably going to be in the £150 region, so the way I see it is pay more for a guaranteed solution with the added benefit of the car running better - i'm not a numbers chaser.
  17. I'm going for a remap to sort the issue. He'll map the cats out of the equation.
  18. I sold my first 350Z for a 2006 Impreza STi back in 2006. I did some basic modifications and got it remapped to run 360bhp/390lb/ft. It was brutal when accelerating but felt like it was going to shake itself apart at high speeds. Much quicker than a Zed but, in my opinion, not half as involving as a drive. Still, somebody got a lovely zed from you and I do hope you enjoy the Impreza.
  19. I'm more interested in the health of the motor than either of those things
  20. I read that as "I think I look like Batman by blacking out my zed"
  21. Interesting discussion. My car came with a cone filter on it. Should I revert back to a panel filter before getting the car remapped (next thing on my list)?
  22. I owned a Zed back in 2004 and got the feeling of disdain from other road users, despite whoever you talked to saying they loved it. I put that down to the negative British jealousy attitude. I'd hate to own something truly exotic like a Lambo as it would just get damaged where ever it was left. It is pathetic people can't just appreciate nice stuff and live and let live... we can't all be poor. Different now. Less disdain but more unwanted attention from people wanting to prove their cars against mine when I am just minding my own business. I try to be a courteous driver, as well as a person in general, but you see less of it on the roads nowadays.
  23. Okay thanks. Would a new sensor really do the trick though, if the current sensor is being triggered by what I guess is essentially a different flow to standard. I remember on an Impreza I used to have it was either a remap or "bypass" the sensor, if I recall correctly.
