  1. This is true but in an odd way I think is helping the value of older cars, or soon will. Fact is certain people still want performance delivered old skool... and they can only buy that new with mega bucks at the moment.
  2. Would have been perfect, but I bought a low mileage silver 53 plate zed a month or so ago. Thanks anyway.
  3. They are both too cheap. When I was looking anything under £6k seemed to be a scam or a shed.
  4. Having owned a stage 1 tuned 06 Impreza STi in the past. I agree. The zed is an excellent drivers car. The Impreza just ripped my face off and drove itself for the most part. I had a zed back in 2004, sold it for the Impreza in 2006 and have just bought another zed this year. The current zed is a DE with high flow cats and after market exhaust, but otherwise standard. It is running 300bhp (according to the dyno I got it remapped on). More than powerful enough for me and power delivery is strong and linear in all gears. My point is, don't get carried away with numbers and specs on paper - test drive, get the right car and you can always !tweak" it to your needs.
  5. Oh and JDMs are worth significantly less than UK models.
  6. My tuppence worth... if you are just using the zed on the road, then there really isn't a great deal in it. Compared to an Impreza, they will all feel slow. The zed isn't a slouch, but it isn't a quick car either. It handles and cruises sublimely though. The exterior styling is in the eye of the beholder and personally I prefer the old cars as they look less chavy. The interior is better on newer cars and obviously you can be buying a 12 year old stereo system in a DE, unless it has been changed... comes as standard in GT spec with Nokia 3210 integration If you are worried about resale value the age of the car is obviously a factor but few really know the difference between the 3 models, outside the owners club that is. Service history, condition and mileage are where the value is at with a zed.
  7. Yeah, similar to me although I have owned one back in 2004 and viewed 1 other before purchasing this time around. I also did garage checks when I was sure I wanted mine, as my car had only done 15,900 miles with history... but even written down it seems unbelievable on a 12 year old motor. I noticed yours on autotrader a week after buying mine, which made me laugh as I convinced myself I'd not get another car in the spec I wanted (my car is exactly the same as yours) with sub 30k miles on for the right money Typical! Glad it worked out though and happy zedding.
  8. Nice to see someone else using the JDM badge on the rear like me Nice car but bagsy the gear knob if you don't get the price you want, thanks Vulture 1.
  9. Lovely car in the best colour. Welcome! I saw that one on Autotrader by the way and knew it wouldn't hang around long
  10. 7 pages and I'm still none the wiser... The trader sounds like he has issues, but let's get something straight. You aren't trying to help other members out. You can't afford something, so want help buying it at a price you can afford. It just so happens others might get a good deal out of it through you organizing a bulk buy via this club, which isn't a bad thing. It's not a selfless act though. I think group buys should give a little something back to the forum by helping support it or something. A small donation seems good form.
  11. Awesome car! I thought my 16k mile 53 plate was low miles! Mine is a UK car so not so clean underneath but was under sealed at birth I paid a little less than you, but close enough. Worth it for a blank canvas in my view. They still need parts renewing as age is a factor, but they do feel like almost new...
  12. Great discussion in my opinion. My view is that people should be able to post opinions about items for sale for all the reasons already raised - namely it is an information based discussion forum. However, how these opinions are expressed is also important. A bit of etiquette doesn't go amiss. Advising a seller he is too high on price is fine and even what your opinion is based on, but I don't think anyone should publicly set a price for a seller in doing this. That is just rude. Same for when a buyer makes an offer below the asking price in my view. Do it privately. I've just read the thread in question and some of the comments are rude. It's not necessary, as those same comments are actually very accurate and could have been expressed better.
  13. My zed came with this issue. I put it down to age. When I got the car serviced mechanic adjusted handbrake shoes and then checked cable. It is now as stiff as me watching that lass on Countdown
  14. 370Z... is that like the 350Z but not as good looking, which in turn was like the 300ZX but not as good looking? Well... I'm old after all... Welcome. Get some photos up. We love to see them besides knowing what they look like
  15. Here is the link for anyone else who is interested in this: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/66311-flyboy-mirror-auto-fold-module-now-back-in-stock-2015/page__hl__%20auto%20%20folding%20%20mirrors
  16. Glad you got it sorted... question on the folding mirrors to the experts... would it take much to make them fold automatically when the ignition is switched on/off. I've come to expect this from more modern cars and it seems odd not to do it on the Zed.
  17. If it was really #1 would be worth every penny and should be in a Nissan museum. If not, still a nice car but not worth half the money in my opinion.
  18. JWT pop charger. Sounds amazing and now car is remapped runs great.
  19. Never fear! I used my Nismo badged time machine and am now back to the future with a screen shot.

    Impreza Sti

Great cars and very practical as a daily driver. Bit thirsty, not zed levels, and need the ol' super juice of course. Very fast point to point cars and not bad when the snow comes either, as long as you have decent tyres.
  21. I put a nismo badge on my Y fronts last night to test the theory. Went like a train...
  22. To be fair we don't know what is under the hood. Yiu would have thought they would list modifications though, if indeed it is modified beyond the badge of power...
  23. Whoa! This car appears to have made 94bhp by just putting a sticker on the back of the car: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/used-cars/nissan/350-z/used-nissan-350-z-3-5-v6-2dr-brighouse-fpa-201510157829882 370BHP DE Nismo. Where can I buy one of these?
  24. Lovely car and welcome. Those wheels look so much better than what it came on.
  25. I have JapSpeed HFCs and they also got through an MOT without issue. I didn't fit them though and if I had a choice I think I'd go Berks HFCs.
