  1. some fairly impressive wear on the seat bolster for a 50k miles car? If it seems too good/too cheap for what it is......
  2. well since we've decided for him that he'll be spending around £3k for the road bike, we can probably say £1000 for half decent kit that leaves £6k to play with...so £3k ktm exc or similar, a further £1k for mx/enduro kit which leaves £2k to blow on a trials bike just to hone those technical skills... How does that sound Joey?
  3. I don't think they do for the proper sports cars (the granturismo and the convertible one...) they do for their less sporty models...
  4. 911's vary slightly across the models too, 991 ranges from 3.4 up to 4.0 for the RS
  5. 420bhp? christ that'll get you down to the salon in no time
  6. if it's only going to be a toy then a sportsbike may be the right option, depends why you're buying it and what you want from a bike - if it's power, speed, handling etc you want then sportsbike all the way but it won't be massively comfy so leisurely jaunts around the countryside are going to be less suited also bear in mind you say 'just the 600'...although it might only be 600cc these things are rapid. I've ridden and raced (off road) bikes since I was 13 and had a go on a friends cbr600rr recently and even now I'm still surprised how quickly they pick up - 110mph in 2nd gear type pick up... If I was just starting out I'd go for something like an FZ6N - powerful enough for a beginner, not going to get away from you and naked bikes look cool... but that gets down to personal preference. I'd also halve your budgete and buy something pretty much brand new. £5k gets you an awful lot of bike
  7. That would be a great idea and I'm sure it would be appreciated. don't know if anyone is over Kings Lynn way? The funeral is on the 22nd
  8. Hey, are you able to make contact so the family can know the situation? Might take some of the stress away of them trying to track you down. yep. messaged the guys cousin who's mentioned in the news article on facebook
  9. sh!t! That would be mine. only bought it off him last sept. unfortunately it's currently on stands in Yorkshire with a number of bits missing. Would've been happy to have a drive over if it was with me very sad news, he seemed a decent lad.
  10. cheers! stuck the plate in a vice, long screwdriver in the other end, bit of silicon spray and round it went. everything is on and it looks a million times better
  11. So I'm putting Tein springs on the Z, back ones went on fine, got front shocks off and left them with a garage to swap the springs round as I don't have compressors Finally got round to refitting the shocks and having a bit of a nightmare...one side has gone on fine, top 3 line up, bottom fork lines up, speed sensor cables clip in (one clip on side one clip facing front right?) Went to put the other side on and it seems wrong.when the top three bolts line up with the bottom fork on the shock the clips for the sensor wires are facing back, in towards the engine, so the opposite to the other side where they face out. It's almost as though the top plate of the shock is on 180 degrees wrong - is it possible to do this? Wouldn't have thought the springs would line up.. cheers
  12. Not quite sure where you'd stand with rejecting the car - think trading standards etc take the view that if it's repaired to a satisfactory condition then you can't reject it. Someone may correct me on this though... However, I'd say you';re in a good enough position to request the work to be done somewhere other than the original garage considering what went on and even racist comments aside it seems like they weren't going to be fixing it properly which you have proof of on camera.. and definitely go specialist over main dealer if at all possible. I suspect considering the circumstances they might be quite accommodating
  13. you don't have a pic of the 12" x 6 fitted do you? Mine currently has a 11 x 7.8(?!) fitted and it's slightly too tall (10mm or so) and it had holes drilled in but was stuck on (awful) so I've been trying to find a 11 x 7 but struggling. Can't even find places that do custom sizes.
  14. does the hatred directed at JDM owners by UK car owners due to us buying better cars at lower prices count as a disadvantage...?
  15. cheers! little bit further north than is ideal but may be worth the trek
  16. unlikely to be the cause as you say it goes away when you're brakes cool down but never put your handbrake on after a track session. can weld the pads to the disc or warp the disc
  17. Afternoon! Just bought a Blitz style lip spoiler for the Z from RT, unfortunately the car is 300 miles from their workshop so having them fit it was not an option. Had a quote from Malton Coachworks (£850 + vat ) so they can do one. Just wondered if anyone could recommend a decent bodyshop that is capable of properly fitting something like this in North Yorkshire cheers
  18. Ignore this, didn't read it properly...
  19. for all 6? tell me more! EDIT: ignore this too, the price I was looking at was about double this for a single one. assumed it was for all 6...
  20. seems like we have a decent showing of guys in their mid-20's! I'm 25 and feeling old
  21. I'm going with £1.5k...
  22. it's a lip spoiler so I guess there's only one position it can be fitted in...unless I've got that very wrong? Expected the hatch to be heavy but didn't think it would be prohibitively so! might be easier trailering it there in that case. and next question... Any recommendations on body shops nr to Leyburn N.Yorks? A friend has recommended me one but waiting on contact details so any other recommendations would be great
  23. Afternoon! So I've got a Blitz style spoiler winding it's way to me courtesy of RT and need to have it fitted, colour matched etc. As the car is currently on stands, no tax/insurance etc I thought it would probably be easier taking the hatch off rather than putting wheels back on and trailering it to a body shop. Just wondered how hard it is to take the hatch off the 350?
  24. odd! mine came out fairly easily, one side was slightly harder than the other but twisting the hub into the right position and a bit of downward pressure on to give a bit more space and the shocks just lifted out. should've video'd it! When all the bolts are out initially it doesn't look like there will be enough space to get the shock out but it definitely does fit. ultimately it's whatever is easiest when you're doing it
