  1. I'm also going to add...some people's inability to use sliproads correctly. I don't know whether it's just lack of confidence or a lack of understanding that the idea of a slip road is to smoothly merge rather than treat it as a junction pretty much Just tried to join the a3, fairly quiet flowing traffic at 60-70, nice long sweeping slip road, car in front hits the brakes 40 to 30 to 20 (clear inside lane at this point) I'm gaining quite rapidly now so beep at her as we're leaving the slip road doing less than 20mph...what does she do.... STOP! gets on the brakes and comes to a dead stop sitting on a dual carriageway with cars coming up behind us. I was fuming at the total stupidity of it all
  2. drove yorkshire to Surrey yesterday A1/M1/M25/A3 the driving got worse the further south I got, there were 3 or 4 absolute twats weaving across 4 lanes undertaking overtaking, cutting people up...one of those very few times you're praying for an unmarked car. with lane hogging sometimes I like to get to the point where you'd almost undertake, pull out behind hogging car, overtake on the correct side and then move back into my original lane just to see if they get the hint
  3. don't write off an import, I got a nicely specced one <60k miles, service history, few nice additions for less than £7k. difference to insurance was negligible
  4. £0? looks simple enough: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/15848-how-to-change-the-aux-drive-belts/ I reckon you'd get charged a couple of hours labour as a guess
  5. there's a facebook group?! welcome to the forum!
  6. are you definitely going through green zone areas? personally...if it's going to be that much of a f on to sort a sticker...I'd chance it. to be honest I'd never even heard of this before

    help!

after very quick postage by Vlad the pump and seal arrived this morning, intended to get it on as soon as I got in from work but an f40 had just arrived at the garage next to me so ended up in there having a good look around it for 40 mins... beautiful! so eventually got round to it, about an hours work getting everything out (fuel return line was a bit awkward) new pump into the unit and all back together, it;s loads quieter when priming, no leaks and car is running perfectly. had a nice 20 min blast out - everytime I drive it it reminds me why I love cars/driving so cheers all for the help and special thanks to vlad for the easy and quick transaction!
  8. it's one of those things that once you've done it you'll never pay someone to do it for you ever again

    help!

It was indeed the fuel pump. RAC came out checked the fuse and relay gave the fuel pump a bang and she fired up New fuel pump time! looks easy enough to do I think. I did see 2 350's and a Gallardo whilst I was waiting so not totally wasted time...

    help!

Just stuck fuel into the z, go to start it and it won't catch.turns over, fires then dies. No priming noise either when I turn the key to the 'on' position. Ideas?! Currently Sat at a petrol station bored and annoyed!
  13. there are always a few breaking on ebay too, I got the full beam relay from one of the breakers on there, you'll need the number on the relay though
  14. Great road but some scary bits. I remember lapping on round down a straight and just as I slowed for the bend as I got round the other side a bike was wedged between 2 trees.....the only thing stopping him from taking the shortest shortcut he'd ever take down a massive embankment! Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk yea you definitely gain some height! we did it on bikes but we were on tourers so no real speed to be had. there were a few lads on sportsbikes pushing on. very little room for error! bloody good road though
  15. black forest road near Baden Badem is also good, not as spectacular but a good drive
  16. Grossglockner, did it on bikes (and there will be plenty of them) but loads of winding hairpings, amazing views. v.recommended! is a toll road though!
  17. if it's going to be off the road for a while and not moving maybe stick it on axle stands
  18. Doing a fortnight tour of Europe in August on my Honda Super Blackbird! Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy.... skip Italy and go Austria>Slovenia>Croatia then loop back. Croatia is stunning, cheap compared to Italy and don't even get me started on the women... Did a 2 week tour with friends out to Bosnia and back on bikes last summer and it was absolutely epic. We did France, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Rep then back to the ferry in Belgium Gotta do Italy as my girlfriends Italian, so we're dropping in on the outlaws in Florence...or Firenze as she keeps reminding me it should be called. Going back through Switzerland, specifically to do the Gotthard Pass as seen in Top Gear committed to Italy then! probably best you don't go to Croatia to eye up the women if you're with the gf too... I haven't done the Gotthard pass but looks v.impressive! Grossglockner is worth a look too if you have time

  20. cheers! wondered what had actually been said about it ever since I saw the cover a few months ago
  21. if you're in a national, on a dual there's no laws as to how quickly you get to that 70 limit... As with all things there's a time and a place, little bit of a play pulling away from traffic lights is fine, wouldn't be bothered with kids in hot hatches but something like a cayman which deserves a bit of appreciation then why not! Because your insurance instantly becomes void when racing on the highway perhaps? no one said anything about racing, just a spirited getaway from traffic lights up to the legal speed limit.

  23. Not if the hood catch looks secure/beefy enough, I have ran without them for years.... but have a set of hood pins I really should install so I can do a vmax day. cheers, will have a look at the catch next time I'm at the car... didn't really think about it until I saw the original post but I remember the bonnet flexing quite a lot when I drove the car
  24. Is that why this is in the insurance section? Investing in bonnet pins is insurance against the bonnet popping up on the motorway... slightly tenuous
