I was in the same boat as you not long ago - I went with the safe option of anthracite Bronze can look the nuts on a black car, but not with OEM Rays I don't think - They're too plain for such a bold move. I mean you're welcome to go for it but only if you post pics AND get matching center caps

Word of warning, the "K" clips are assholes. Be careful not to snap them, and try and pull them out straight - when we did mine I just yanked cause I figured that would work, turns out I slightly twisted and then snapped the clip. Took an hour to try n get the shards out of the hole so that a new clip could be put in. Also be careful to put them back in the right way, whoever did mine before me hadn't and it was irritating to get them out too.

Pull the engine out and whack in a V8....

Generally they'd rather not knock down the costs, but give you free stuff instead, such as extra options ( better paint, "sport" packages etc ) Definitely look at competitors, I know BMW and Mercedes are miles apart in terms of costs for their finances when we looked at cars and when we told our local BMW dealer we considered a Merc, they said gave us a bit of a discount to keep the sale. Be ruthless, but NOT RUDE! The dealer is not your friend, but being friendly, yet firm, will go a long way in negotiations. Another classic is to walk away, and call back in a few days for an extended drive, and say you're interested but the prices need work. Don't get if you don't ask Try not to buy with the heart, and definitely try n bring a level headed person with to try and avoid the " OMG ITS SO GOOD I WANT IT NOW " Apologies if I'm patronizing, I just mean to offer all the tips I've been given Good luck and let us know how it goes - I saw a '65 plate Cayman GTS in yellow - Lovely little car, much better than the older ones - 718 should be the dogs

How much money have you spent on cars over the years?
Mikevv replied to marzman's topic in Other Cars
You make it sound like we should spend money on something else, assuming we had any left over after I don't care to look at it like that, everyone knows cars are a depreciating asset, and I just enjoy it while it lasts. Problem is trying to control whether it's a good idea to invest in the current car, or upgrade to something else Funds provided, I would probably swap cars twice a year, tend to get bored of my cars quickly - Had the Zed for a year now and still smile when she starts up -

I was driving home from work this morning, and spotted this blue zed at a garage. Heading out back to work tonight, slowed and saw the price!! Laughed, drove off and looked it up online. Am I missing something? That's crazy money, I wouldn't have thought it would be worth more than £5k... drivers seat looks buggered too! http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201605053644104?sort=locasc&page=1&make=nissan&radius=1500&search-target=usedcars&onesearchad=new%2Cnearlynew%2Cused&model=350_z&searchcontext=default&postcode=bh241sz&logcode=p

Define cheap? Cheap to me is £200 for a decent phone... so you know... Check eBay, Galaxy S3's and S4's are worthless nowadays

I work night shifts and used to have a hole in my exhaust... neighbours must of loved me waking up their kids at half 9 at night The amount of people that stare when I come home at around 8:15 am is quite funny... like to make a bit of noise, get their day started right, right? :3

Sorry to be that guy, but I got two fronts for sale, 225/45/18 if you're interested? They're in the for sale section This is another example of why I won't lower my car!!
-
Can't you just get them painted? The people who did mine painted them for £20, and at least they'll be a 95% match and powder coated :3
-
Sadly the 'Ring has claimed another 350z - Hopefully they are okay, but the car looks like a loss That M3 at around 6:10 sounds great though Here's the link, around 6:20 ish for anyone looking only for the aftermath - the rest of the video is a bit dull

What colour is your car? Personally I don't like black wheels too much, but definitely gloss! Helps avoid the "painted them myself from Halfords" look imo.

Do you still want my spreadsheet? I have finally finished editing it but I'm missing last year for some reason - Probably a seperate file, but there was nothing major that went on TBH apart from an O2 sensor for one of the banks and a torn engine mount of some sort ( dad went foot flat from a standstill around a corner... ) otherwise all good for a 8 year old car PM me and I can email it over if you want? Funnily enough, we traded it in for £4800, the dealer has been trying to sell it for over 3 months now, still not shifted at £6k lol

Can I just ask, in case I've missed something, is it going to be a lease or purchase? BMW seem to do MILES better in the leases compared to Mercedes - Purely based on prices. They wanted more for a nicely optioned C220d than BMW wanted for a 330D with most of the options.... Mercedes came back around £700 per month, where as the BMW was just over £550 I think. Do you want maintenance included too? That's about £50 a month, which isn't bad considering it covers you 100%

I agree, its the left side, like the thumb grip seems off? I'm not sold on the thickness, looks like it's been stuffed with the stuffing from a teddy bear BUT!!! The owner is happy, so that's all that matters Having had mine done by Jack - And being well over 3 hours late ( the man is a saint for tolerating my terrible sense of directions ) It was fitted and perfect from the moment I laid eyes on it I would post pics, but I don't have any and I cba to go get some

Seems very cheap for an 07 with that little mileage!! Is it an HR or rev up? I only ask cause I have a '56 plate but registered Jan 07, and it's a rev up

My dad seems to think a high performance diesel would sell well due to the insane torque and fuel economy I told him that it wouldn't, cause people who buy sports cars don't care for economy as much - they want the thrill/noise/experience of it all. Ever tried revving a diesel to red line? It's the least satisfactory thing ever, and it sounds it too! Imagine the Italians making luxury diesel sports cars ( Ignore the Gibli for a moment, it's a 3 series on 'roids IMO ) but it just wouldn't work. " I have £200,000 to spend on a car, but fuel efficiency is important cause I don't want to pay for fuel " Yeah, no.

My "friend" asked what engine it had, I say 3,5 V6 - He said " oh, is it a high spec one then? " Needless to say, he drove a polo... and then bought a Corsa.

I use a gopro instead, figured I can offset the cost by filming other things like shooting trips or holidays Only do about 4k miles a year, and so far bave caught no accidents but a few people driving like male genitalia... Almost had a few people hit me from the coming round a 90 degree bend but on my side of the road!

Link doesn't work, loads up at £246 hahaha but was worth a try

I MIGHT be able to get my hands on our running cost spreadsheet later on, but it was for an E320cdi, 2007 model - From what I can tell, they are identical to the CLK but ours was diesel. Would that help? It has service costs and usually detailed, but I will check.
