  1. I saw your car for sale recently, it was mentioned in the ad....
  2. I was in a bit of a "stuck" 2 1/2 years or so ago on a weekend and needed a car asap for the monday morning. Previous car was ready for the scrap heap. Anyway I bought a Lexus is200 in reasonable nick, service history etc, but, it only had the "valet key", i.e it was the same as a normal key but it wouldn't unlock the boot manually. He assured me he would forward the main key on to me as soon as his dad came back (some story along those lines) as he knew where it was. I contacted him a week later and he fobbed me off, contacted him 2 weeks later and never heard back. If I wasn't desperate that weekend I would have walked, alas I didn't. Point I'm making is, make a deal going by what is present, not what is promised. SO, like everyone else, wait for the "service history to appear" then make a deal if you are interested.
  3. Something that annoys me on most forums, even my for friends at work, saying you put £x of fuel in is almost entirely pointless. We don't know how much fuel costs in your area, or what type of fuel you put in. It could be 4 gallons, or 5 at that price for example, roughly speaking. Also when people look back at the thread in a years time fuel prices will have changed vastly.... Do it by volume of fuel with a point of reference, I.e fill tank, record how much fuel and miles done since last refuel, not "££ put in when I had a quarter of a tank" and when I was down to half a tank I had done 50miles. Useless stats!! Rant over
  4. Over the 6k miles I have covered, I have averaged around 22mpg, mix of motorways, A roads and town driving. Most I've seem from a tank is 29mpg, motorway for most of it set to 70, was a test more than anything. Worst I've seen was at castle combe the other day with a session at 8.9 mpg I measure my overall mpg by miles I've done from a brimmed tank and how much fuel I put in to refill it to the top, the onboard computer is pretty accurate on my car to be fair. Oh I do 550 miles a week commuting, I have bought a little 1.9tdi seat Ibiza @*!# box to commute in, so far over 3 months with this journey 5 days a week,it has saved me £800 roughly in fuel over the zed. Not including the extra servicing etc it would cost, plus tyres. So yeh, commute in a @*!# box, Zed for weekends

Mine had an mot due 4 weeks after I bought it, it had 2 advisorys.... 2 Tyre valves slightly perished no drama haha
  7. Very cheap for a y pipe, pretty tempting, even as a worst case it's got to be better than the OEM pipe?
  8. £350 plus vat Seemed reasonable looking through what the owner before me spent on servicing with Nissan! I am more of a home mechanic when it comes to my bikes and cars usually, but as this one has every stamp from new and only on 33k miles, I feel it should get another.
  9. Hey chaps, I am booking my HR into FCM Motorsport in Bristol, I have a quote for a p3 for the following; engine oil (10/60 fully synth or 10/40 semi synth your choice) filter change gear box oil rear diff oil brake and clutch fluid spark plugs replaced check all lights aux belts suspension and so on. all oils will be castrol and the brake fluid will be rbf600 race fluid. Seems good to me, I am assuming they will change the air filters etc as well. What do you lot think with regards to the oil options? Cheers Mike
  10. I would be interested in these if you fancy posting. Or I can arrange a courier Cheers Mike
  11. Maybe because it's the "safe" bet?

Where are you guys getting tyre prices like those from?
  13. I have gone and looked through the service history, its been serviced every year and it appears that changing the clutch fluid isn't in the service schedule, only checking the level etc. It would appear it is likely to be the original clutch fluid. So new clutch fluid should hopefully solve that one! Hey David, I left my traction control on, being my first car track day and it squirming everywhere I didn't really fancy my luck haha. Your car sounded great though, my brother reckoned he couldn't even hear mine when he was standing on the hill while I had my tutor session. Quietest car at the track day was his exact words, there was me worrying about sound levels, should have just had my cobra fitted before hand afterall. My car needs a bloody good clean too, its hanging right now! Thanks for the advice, ill look into some new lines and pads also. Going to be an expensive month coming up, its due a p3 as well in November. Need to find a decent specialist near Bristol.
  14. Just got back from my first track day (for a car at least) at Castle Combe, there was another HR silver Zed there, who said he was part of the owners forum so I would assume he meant here. I was driving an 07 HR. Anyway, I had a few issues on track, the most significant being that I seemed to constantly boil my clutch. It would literally lose all pedal travel and I would struggle to change gear. Worst was when I was half way through a tuition session, it completely baked and I had to drive almost an entire lap in first gear to get back to the paddock. After letting it cool down I was able to go back out again, but this shouldn't be normal surely? The other chap didn't have any clutch issues, my guess is shite/old clutch fluid, I should have given the brakes and clutch fresh dot 5 fluid before I went. Upon googling while sat like a bell end waiting for my car to cool itself down, i googled and it came back with the HR 350z having a Clutch slave cylinder recall? Also mentioned that the clutch lines ran really close to the exhaust. So, does anyone else have this issue? Or is it just me and lack of preperation with fresh fluids all round? I also managed to bake 3 out of 4 tyres, Toyo Proxes, they have been on the car a while I think and the rears were not far from the wear marker anyway, after my first session after lunch which went really well, the next few sessions saw the car squirming all over the place, dropping pressures helped a little but its quite clear they are ****ed! Oh and OEM pads suck, pretty sure they have glazed over. So, I would quite like to do another track day.... I am going to give it a p3 service soon, including gearbox and diff oil, brake fluid and the following; New set of tyres clutch fluid change Some decent pads Any other suggestions? Anything that will help the clutch fluid not boil other than fresh fluid? Cheers Mike
  15. Cool post, answers future questions for when my clutch heads on its way out Cheers
  16. Prob best to keep it? When you come to sell your zed the full system won't add much value. But removing it and selling it separately, you will wish you kept your stock system.
  17. So what sort of price are we going to be looking at here for the Y piece? Will it be cheaper than the cobra one? Cheers Mike
  18. How does mirror link work? Over Bluetooth? So I could pair my android phone, use google maps and see it on big screen??
  19. Decats needed......... so, MOT will be an issue with Decat correct? So will have to fit stock ones for each MOT?
  20. Is the 370z really that big a jump to warrant an upgrade and double purchase price? I'm asking, as I haven't driven a 370z, only my HR 350z. I would be looking at a Cayman S after this 350z if I was looking for an "upgrade" for that sort of money. though the liklihood of that is fairly slim, im far more likely to sell the zed and go full asbo with a LS2 Monaro
  21. As its already sold, if you want a cheapo alternative that does a decent enough job, as long, check out the halfords cargo net for a fiver. Fits a bit tighter than you would like, but it stops the shopping and various other items in the boot flying around while you look for an OEM one
  22. I'll take a resonated 350z exhaust please with tp38 tips (inverted slash cut). Would also like to know if you are counting the start price, at the website listed price of £425 or not. Cheers Mike
