  1. Cheaper than 4300? Where? So it has a little lacquer peel, to be expected after 150k, shouldn't cost much to fix, especially if you can do it yourself. I also think you'll be hard pushed to find one that doesn't have a few carpark dings, especially on the doors. The mileage is nothing to worry about if it been looked after service wise. I just meant cheaper cars generally, not cheaper than £4300. I'd rather pay a bit more for a better car. I honestly think the mileage is a bit of a worry.
  2. I would never buy a car with that mileage when there are many cheaper lower mileage cars around.
  3. It was hardly left to rot! You leave your car in the Lowry car park for 7 months and see how much it costs you. It was left in one of the indoor secure parking spaces that cost his company £1000's a year rather than outside on a drive as it wasn't being used. Owner was reluctant to sell it so it sat for 7 months. It has 1 prev owner, 38k miles, fsh and every receipt from new. It only needed new brakes, tyres and a front bumper re spray due to a parking scrape in the multi storey.
  4. You get all the power delivered in one massive dollop low in the rev range. They are also very front heavy. I've had a few fast diesels as company cars and am considering buying one at the moment.
  5. Thanks I got offered a really good price for mine today against a a5 3.0 tdi quattro. It had every option I wanted but it has a cream interior. I hate cream leather interiors. I'm sure you will find a good deal eventually. £7k is too low for yours. Especially compared to some of the cars you see sold on here.
  6. I'd get it painted and put on standard wheels before I tried to sell it. The problem with cat d's is that if anything happens, your insurance will only pay out 50% market value.
  7. I wouldn't let it go for 7k. I got offered just under 8k px and mine is a 2005. I think the dealer might have had a buyer in mind. For some reason he really liked that the car still has it's original dealer number plates? I was planning to change them but never got round to it. It might be a good idea to change to exhaust back to a standard one. Dealers tend to prefer original cars. In some strange cases even original number plates
  8. I've been offered more than £7k trade for mine and it's a 2005 with 38,000 miles. It was against a car priced at £10,500.
  9. I've been offered a good price, but against a car that's done 125,000 miles. I'm gonna give it a miss. Modern diesels get expensive to maintain once the miles start to rack up. See if tradelink have anything suitable. They seem to like 350z's and should give you a fair PX price.
  10. We have semi urban badgers aswell as foxes now. They're massive. Like a medium sized dog with no legs. Weird site running along a street.
  11. I don't think it would be hard to sell. Especially with the mileage and history. I've not even tried to sell it. I just hate selling cars. Especially quick cars under £10k. I don't like dealing with the chavs, tyre kickers and timewasters. I could do with a diesel as I will be driving to Birmingham every other weekend for the forseeable future. If you have to get a diesel estate get a 335d or a 535d.
  12. Nismo black rubber or titanium. It's used in the s tune 350z and they used them in old skyline race cars.
  13. I was supposed to be selling my 350z roadster, but I can't bring myself to. I've grown attached to it and I hate selling cars of this type anyway due to bad experiences in the past. I'm also sure if I do sell it my other half will have a few good ideas on how to spend the cash. I would be willing to trade or PX it towards any of the above. My car is a 2005 Roadster GT, Black, 38,500 miles, 1 previous owner, FSH, Rays, 11 months mot, 5 months tax and just had new pads and discs all round. It's a long shot but if anyone is or knows someone who maybe interested PM me. Thanks. Edit, can't seem to delete this thread. No longer looking to trade.
  14. It seems for some reason that 370z owners need to reassure each other. They're a great car, but to the average motorist, they are a sporty nissan. Not a Maserati or a Ferrari.
  15. Silva cost PSG €42m. Milan wanted rid of "Zlatan" (so over rated) so let him go for around €20m. I would imagine a few brown envelopes were exchanged as well. I'm definitely club before country.
  16. Why would a snob buy a a3, 1 series or a slk? Maybe for his wife or daughter? For the record, I think the exhaust sounds like a cobra. To the op, you need to calm down. You've got £8k - £12k to spend on a car. I've lost more on depreciation in the past but I don't shout about it. If you were buying new you couldn't afford a decent fiesta let alone a a3 or slk.
  17. I'm considering a cat D 2008 X5 at the moment. If I can get it at the right price I'll just keep it as a work horse and not worry about resale.
  18. He's a average busker who go lucky.
  19. The 996TT is a Mezger unit and supposedly hardier than its NA equivalent. Well done re the Cayman - the issue with reliability is that they don't seem to go "slightly wrong" - when they go it's a catastrophic £8-10k bill sort of thing. I'm amazed the scored bore issue is still with us on the gen 2s Are all gen 2's suffering bore scoring, or just early 2.9's? Not looked at porsches for a while, as a decent gen 2 997 pdk is out of my price range.
  20. Kev

    Ireland?

I put a wanted ad up for a e92 M3. Most replies came from Irish sellers. It's hard to sell a car like that in Ireland now. Most get sent over here.
  21. Some are saying it's the best value performance car available. I'd still buy a 911 though
  22. I agree they are awful on fuel and that the type of engine will not be seen again, but disagree that they are weak below 6000rpm. I would like to add I do really like the 370z, I just think it's a very different car to a cayman. More of bruiser
  23. I wasn't a fan of autos until I drove a pdk. It's a awesome gearbox and nothing like a playing video game. I floored one in 7th gear at 100mph and it dropped to 3rd with a boom. They're truly brilliant. As for the e92 being the same package as a e36! That's crazy. One has a 3.0 (or 3.2 evo) straight 6 and the other has a epic 420bhp v8 and a gearbox as good as a pdk (dct). Even if Nissan did make a 400z it'd be a heavy lump like a 350 or 370. The porsche is so well balanced and handles much better. Having said that I wouldn't have a pre 09 cayman s without porsche warranty. The reliability is awful compared to a Nissan. They are a seriously flawed car.
