  1. I like 370's but if you drove one straight after driving a cayman s (post 09), i think most would be dissapointed. The cayman s is a much, much better car. Especially with a PDK box. I prefer the 370's exterior looks though, then again Porsche interior is much nicer. Best performance bargain IMO is the E92 M3.
  2. Maybe "pi**ed off" was a bit strong, but it has put me off the 370z a tiny bit. I understand many brands have a "design language". I remember my horror when they ruined bmw's. But z should be kept separate, like the ford mustang.
  3. Is anyone else a bit pi**ed off that the new nissan juke appears to have the headlights of a 370z as well as the roofline, rear lights and arse end? I thought the point of the original 240Z, was to look like a Ferrari rather than a nissan? I don't expect the modern z to look like a Ferrari, but it definitely shouldn't look like a modern micra on stilts. It should be unique in comparison to other mainstream nissans. The 350z had a nice original look. They are diluting the image of the 370z by doing this IMO, and it's not like the juke is a good looking car as a result.
  4. There is a virtually new gearknob on sale on eBay for £80 at the moment. He claims it cost him £220 from nissan. Nismo titaniums are £150. Doesn't make much sense.

    Keyed

I had a huge x scratched in my brand new Alfa Breras drivers side door a week after I bought it in 09 and last September some idiot poured acid/paint stripper down the side of my daily driver (62 plate Astra gtc). Some people can't cope with the fact that they have failed in life so abuse other peoples things.

    electric roof

On a day like today I'd be tempted to rip it down.
  7. I don't mean to offend anyone and I know they are now good cars, but I could never drive a Skoda. Never. Guess I'm showing my age.

  9. If it's realistic to import a 09 gtr for early to mid 20's, I'd be more than up for it. I wouldn't pay close to £30k though.
  10. Lovely if you are in that position, but what about if you didnt have the extra £5k and high £20's was a stretch, i bet my left nut you wouldnt say no and thats exactly why imports are/were popular, they bring cars some people couldnt afford into budget and eventually, prices between the 2 level off, hardly any difference between uk and jdm 350's these days but i bet there was when they first came over According to what you say re pistonheads ads there is no difference with GTR prices now (£35k uk, £33k import). It's nothing for a car that needs a service every six months, eats tyres and does 15mpg if you drive like a saint. If the uk car you mention needs tyres and the jap one doesn't they're virtually the same price.
  11. I agree 1000%. It's not a big enough saving considering you'd be parting with £30k.
  12. Surely If a uk car is worth £35k, a equivalent jap import has to be worth less than £33k (once imported)?
  13. What a car for £32k. Must be the best value car ever. I know a few people who say that they are too big and fast for our roads. Never had the chance to drive or even sit in one. I'd take a chance on a import for £20-£25k. Has anyone ever been to japan to buy a car and shipped it back?
  14. I can see a lot of GTR's being imported. They were ridiculously priced over here compared to Japan when first released. I'd definitely buy one if the price, condition and spec were right.

    electric roof

You would be bet off with a cabrio roof specialist than a Nissan dealership. Try lubricating all the joints with something that soaks into them rather than something that just sits on the surface like grease.
  16. Cheers Kev. Will have a look at whats around. Reckon i'd stick with the manual though. That's what is said until I drove a DCT. It's a brutal, evil, scary gearbox. Easily as good as a PDK. The manual is disappointing. Some say changing the gearknob for a shorter one makes a difference but I can't see it being a drastic improvement.
  17. If your getting a earlier M3 a set of bbs chr's will make a big difference. The genuine BMW carbon fibre splitters and spoiler are surprisingly cheap as well. I'd also go for a DCT.

    Akrapovic evolution

I think they are worth the price compared to other exhausts. Not cheap though.
  19. The new M3 and M4 sound awful. I'm not a fan of these new twin/quad turbo engines. Even f1 cars sound like @*!#. At least Merc are sticking to their guns with the bigger AMG's and the new 911 gt3 sounds awesome. As does the f type V8. I wouldn't be surprised if the next z car is a 180z with a 1.8 twin turbo.
  20. 350z have a big fan base so as good, clean original examples get rarer, values will firm up. I think in 20 years anything in good condition with a na v6 or v8 will be a classic. New engines sound like hair dryers.
  21. Damn. Now I want one again.
  22. It was wheels, lowered suspension and a few carbon fibre bits. I think the biggest problem with early e92's are the wheels. They're fugly. This vid is a bit dramatic but it shows the comp pack off nicely.
  23. Get a e92 m3 competition pack. They don't look boring. Really nice in the right colour especially with a akrapovic evo. I'm tempted myself once the m4 has had it's negative impact on used e92 prices.
  24. I don't either mate. I think the 350z has a chance of being a future classic as they aren't that many original cars around and it doesn't really have a true rival. My point was by modern standards db5's, etypes and e30 m3's are slow. I didn't make "the demand for a fast car" comment mate.
  25. He also says the best one is the 300PS roadster.... good call Your one to talk about good calls....you drive a jag.
