  1. I can't resist a quiz, these are my guesses: 1) Redundancy, if one circuit fails the other should still be able to stop you. 2) Weight but also torsional strength in the way the fibres are laid. 3) Redundancy, if the fuse blows in one you don't suddenly loose all lights, you'll still have one to get you home. 4) Because they are cheap, they conform to the mating surface very well and with the lubrication they don't suffer great wear. 5) Because steel would be more expensive and you need the disc to wear slightly. 6) Strength, forge to keep the material grain which means a stronger wheel. 7) Air bags are rock hard when deployed, the chassis absorbs a lot of the energy from the impact which reduces the amount of energy throwing your face in to the dashboard, the air bags provided extra cushioning for you as the car can't absorb all of it. 8) Higher speed, more likely to have cars and vehicles around you (more hard things to hit and more people in danger) and because motorways tend to have no run off area. 9) Distributing the current to each spark plug, points were the contacts. 10) The Americans can't drive, it's rear wheel drive and manual so they have no chance but also because for them it's a small car.
  2. I chose VW because a mate worked their and so he let me know that they did good work and an exact paint match
  3. I had a full front end respray (to get rid of stone chips) on my Azure blue 350Z a couple of years ago. I got it done a VW West Bridgford, the quality of the paint work and matching was fantastic and you can't tell it's been sprayed. I paid around £550 including the bonnet, bumper and arches plus blending it in.
  4. Yeah it's in Sherwood. Their website says they are still there 542-546 Mansfield road, Sherwood, NG5 2FR. Could try to call them on 0115 9624 986. I visited them last year.
  5. I purchased and had my head unit and reversing camera installed at car audio centre on Mansfield road. They used to have a 350Z with a massive system in it and so they know their way around the car and they fitted it quickly and fairly cheaply.
  6. The one on Carlton Road near Carlton Hill is alright, they snow foam the car first and if you give them a couple of buckets, shampoo and a mitt, they'll wash you car using your own stuff.
  7. Sounds like they haven't installed the cones. You can pull the cones off the old arms if with a bearing pull if you are careful or you can buy new from a few of the traders on here, they are cheap enough. I wouldn't drive the car without the cones being fitted though. Honestly can't think of anything else it could be.
  8. I've tried vaping with the cheap £10 sets where you get the whole e cigs and a liquid, I used it for a few days and then gave up as I wasn't a fan of the taste and not enough vapour for me. At the moment I smoke 20 Richmond Superkings a day. I realise that ultimately it will come down to personal preference but can anybody recommend an e cig and some liquids for me as I'd like to give vaping another go but there's so many out there that I don't know what to try first. Ideally I don't want to keep buying different e cigs. The Eleaf Istick 30W and nautilus seem popular, would that be a good place to start? Can't find it on the joyetch site with the discount code though. Any suggestions on which websites to use and liquids? Sorry to be vague, just hoping for some suggestions as I don't know anybody that uses an e cig
  9. Isn't it the microphone for the car's hands free system?
  10. So 5 of these should do it? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-2-5-inch-63mm-Exhaust-Performance-Gasket-2-Bolt-Steel-2-Hole-/251626972589
  11. Hi, what size are the OEM exhaust gaskets? All 4 from the cat back. Also, does anyone have any recommendations for places to get them? I'm not after anything special just standard gaskets that will fit and work.

  15. Yeah I can create DXF files for you or DWG files if needed. Drop me a PM and I'll see where I can help you
  16. I understood the rant Ekona but wanted to say my 2p's worth. You are right that they should have contacted you but at the same time, if you were the business owner, why would you want to chase people who want to cancel their business with you? Personally, I don't understand why you have to send the certificate back. I had to do this with sky when I cancelled but I have never done it with any other insurance company. Insurance is electronic these days and so they can just cancel it on the national insurance database and then that should be it. To me the piece of paper is pointless, I mean it would be very easy to copy or create your own (it's not like it's water marked or anything) and the only time that I can think of where you would need to show it would be if you received a police producer in which case they will glance at it and then phone the insurance company to make sure it is genuine anyway.
  17. When insurance companies offer me an inflated renewal price, I just ring them and cancel it straight away. Happened to me with Sky insurance, as well as many others, price went up around 25% so I rang them and got the old "just hold on a second and we'll see what we can do" to which I responded "I expect you to do that in the first place as a valued customer of yours, now please cancel my renewal immediately". It's so easy to get insurance these days that I don't even bother looking at the renewal price any more. I just shop around once it comes to renewal time and go with the most competitive quote.
  18. Both of the number plate lights and your front side lights and I believe side indicators are all on the same fuse. Therefore, because you still have one number plate light working I don't think it is the fuse. However, if you want to double check then in the drivers foot well, there is a removable panel on the right hand size that contains the fuse for the lights.
  19. I used to do a lot of work with India and my way around this issue was to reply with "Hello (Full name as arranged in original email signature)" i.e. Hello Gurijt Bains ........
  20. I don't really want to get involved in this thread as I'm English and to be honest I don't really care what the Scottish do. However, I keep reading about the oil, the oil is worth a lot but so are the services that allow it to be accessed, are you aware that some of the drilling service providers are already moving down to England (e.g. Schlumberger Oilphase)? Also, a lot of the manufacturing for the oil industry (manufacturing is a hell of a lot of money in the oil industry, have you seen how much a drilling tool is worth?) is moving to Singapore and has been doing so for the last few years. England already has a valuable oilfield design community in Tewkesbury (which is where Oilphase is going by growing Stonehouse). Half of Aberdeen is there to support the oil industry which could easily relocate is Scotland becomes an unfavourable place for them but production would continue and that would be a lot of jobs gone. A comment mentioned that if Englishman didn't care then why are so many commenting on here....I don't think even 1% of the English forum members have commented on this thread.

  22. The new phone looked more like a Samsung Galaxy phone to me. Similar screen size, rounded edges etc. Maybe it's just me
  23. Yes, the CD009 gearbox in your link will fit your 04 Zed. Remember there will be shipping costs and import duties to pay on top of the sale price though.
  24. MPSS are useless in the cold, get winter tyres.
