  1. Many thanks, I'll jack the car up and have a good look on Saturday and report back shortly. Hopefully it's something simple as in the last two years I've already replaced the drop links, ARB bushes, banana arms and lower control rod bushes and ball joint.
  2. Hoping for some helpful advice. I was driving home from work today and after some fast Road driving down a country lane I suddenly developed a creaking noise from my car when going over some but not all bumps in the road. The noise is audible in the cabin. Once home I had a quick look around but couldn't see anything wrong so I got the Mrs to drive the car and instantly it was clear that the noise was a lot louder outside the car and was coming from the front nearside wheel. The noise happens when turning and when going over bumps. I haven't had any bangs to the wheel and the noise literally sounds like a creaky old bed/mattress. It's dark cold and wet out so I haven't been able to get under the car for a proper inspection but does anybody have any ideas as to what the cause of the noise could be? The car still feels fine, it sits level as I wondered about a broken spring, it steers fine and just feels no different. Could it be a dry ball joint as I know the boot on the lower control arm ball joint has a small split in it and so needs changing.
  3. Just my 2 cents, this TV is fantastic, I have the same one and paid over three times the advertised price for it, I haven't come across a better picture on a TV yet and it is complaint with all of the latest standards (HDMI, decoders etc.), has Netflix 4k built in which is brilliant and really shows off the 4K. You can also plug a memory stick stright in with 4K videos and the 3D works brilliantly. The TV is future proofed thanks to the Samsung Evolution kit if the standards were to ever change. Grab yourself and amazing TV at an incredible price.
  4. I had the same worry, I found starting at the back (the thinner piece) and working my way forward helped.
  5. In the compartment with the sliding lid there is a little felt lined piece to the left that's is meant to be used ot hold a couple of coins, if you left this up (scre driver under it and it pops out), you'll then be able to see the nut that you can use to slacken or tighten the handbrake cable. As Alex says, there is also handbrake adjustment for each brake on the rear disc/durm. Hope that helps.
  6. I'm not far from you in Notts and I use winter tyres on my Z. The first year that I had my zed I stuck with the Pilot Super Sports in winter but I found a significant lack of grip when it was cold, especially when accelerating at a normal pace up a hill when the car had just been started up. The following year I purchased some Michelin Pilot Alpin's and I love them, I can drive in the freezing temperatures as i would in summer and last year when I drove in the snow i was amazed at the grip that I had, it's surprising how much more grip they give you in the cold. I found the pilot super sports became very hard in the cold and dind't grip well until you had driven for a while and got some heat in them. I wouldn't say it was dangerous to drive on summer tyres through winter but you do loose a surprisng amoung of grip when cold, the winter tyres though will give you some reassurance that you have enough grip on the road. They are winter tyres, not snow tyres but keep in mind that even winter tyres seem crap on ice.
  7. Go to your local Nissan dealership, they have a copy of every locking nut key for the cars they have sold and they'll let you try them all until you find the one that fits and then order it through them for around £20. I did this a couple of years ago as a mechanic lost my original. When I went to my local dealer, they gave me 3 boxes of lucking nut keys, each one had about 30 different keys in it. Each box was for a different brand of locking nut.
  8. Can you use these to adjust the camber only and then get away without the need for adjustable control arms?
  9. Great service received from Adrian. Ordered a pair of Stoptech brake discs. Adrian beat everyone on price, answered emails lightning fast and delivered them in good time. Fitted them last night and they are fantastic compared to my old DBA T3's
  10. That's a good price, where did you get it done?
  11. Put my name down please, I'll come and go over the weekend, probably visit for a short while after work on the Friday and then come down again on the Saturday.
  12. Took me 20 minutes just to figure our where it is
  13. Can't help much as I've never driven on Falken's but try Opeone.co.uk for better tyre prices. My front MPSS tyres are generally lasting around 30,000 miles and the rears are lasting around 15,000 which I think is pretty good going but this includes no track days.
  14. Yes, they look similar to me, I'm not saying the same or identical. Both have rounded edges, both have deep grooves running radially and both have a similar number of grooves running axially.
  15. Those Avon tyres look quite similar to the MPSS. I had Avon Z33?? on my Zed when I purchased it and I acutally found them to be a good tyre but I haven't tried the ZZ5's.
  16. Having just purchased a new set of MPSS for my Z, the price of them isn't bad at all, I managed to get a full set for OEM sizes for £486. For that price, I think it's daft not to go for them.
  17. I'll post a copy of the print out when I get home tonight.
  18. I believe there were no changes made to the UK rear bumper during the facelift. The front bumper was changed as were the rear lights but nothing changed on the rear bumper.
  19. I have a high mileage 2006 350Z (115,000 miles). I took the car for a four wheel alignment a few weeks ago and the mechanic was struggling to get the alignment in spec so I'm hoping someone might be able to advise what I need to replace. The car is standard except for a poly bust on the traverse arm. I fitted new OEM banana arms last year. The mechanic looked over the suspension and couldn't find anything torn or split in terms of bushes and he said everything looked ok. The alignment was done on a hunter machine, the mechanic struggles with camber on the front and the rear. Now I understand that the front has no camber adjustment and so why would this be out of spec? The rears he could adjust but there wasn't enough adjustment. I know I am being vague but it's all the info I have and so I'm looking ofr advice on what parts to change out first to get everything back in to specification as it should be.
  20. The new version of the Autoglym spray on wheel sealant is pretty good, lasts about a month or 1500 miles and is easy to apply. You do need to keep the wheels dry for an hour and you have to buff the wheels after because you get some white streaks from over application but I'm liking it.

    Goodridge kit

Does the booklet or the box not state what should come with the kit?
  22. I'm over the moon with my guesses and score, generally I'm not very good at quizzes. I'll pass on the tyre though and stick with my Michelins but thanks for the offer.
  23. ready done, that's better than my offer. If you still need to know what the top two brackets are like then let me know and I'll sketch them for you
  24. I've got an OEM one, I can't sell you the brackets as a buyer would need them (looking to sell it shortly) however I can do a sketch of the brackets tomorrow evening if that helps and also send you some pictures. I've already removed the tonneau so I can't share a picture of it installed but I can describe how to fit it in my email. PM me your email address and I'll work on the sketch tomorrow night.
  25. A standard 350Z brake disc should fit however there are two disc types, one for Brembo brakes and one for standard brakes. With your's being a Fairlady I would guess that you need the standard brake discs.
