  1. Wow many replies, totally unexpected.
  2. I do pass Sandra on the way, but she goes home every lunch time to let the dog out argh!! Can't jack in lol
  3. Using this to kinda vent and put pen to paper my sadness. Not looking for a solution as I don't think there's one as yet but would be interested to know if anyone else is having to go through something similar either now or in the past. So today at work my line manager pulls me to one side and goes, "with all the changes in the building (all the same company not shared, but merger of another sister building) it's sad but you've lost your spot on the car park. But there is parking at a local public car park for you with a barrier pass which is a 40mins walk round trip" It's previously taken me 7 years to get a spot outside the building and to receive this new is sad. No way am i parking my Zed at a public car park every day as it's out of sight and very much away from the road in a non commercial or residential space whereby knowing my luck the worst could happen. I obv I rather not put myself through that as that's all that'll be on my mind. So a car that previously did less that 5k per annum, is now likely to do 2k at most. I will park there but use my Nissan Sunny beater alot more yay. Like most other dad's on here you work all week and come the weekend you want to spend time with the family. I have two young girls 4 and 2 and it's the highlight of my life being with them on a weekend. As during the week I get home and it's play for a bit, bath, brush teeth and bed. Come the weekend when we all go out anywhere it's in the Mrs car which is perfectly geared up for this and again I don't use the 350z of a weekend much either other than actual drives out or car shows and meets. It's going to be a damn shame to leave it parked up at home all day every day as I just love driving it so much. To the extent that I often go the long way to work effectively doubling the distance. Thank you forum for giving me a media to vent and get stuff of my mind.
  4. If the garage jet wash gets busy, try going late evening is what I do Citrus pretty wash 10.1 Small wheel brush to work the alloys Jet wash off Dry as you drive This should keep you going as a safe contactl less wash
  5. Have a go on DMax Karts in Tamworth, major throttle & brake control needed. Ive done a fair bit of karting and never have i felt a kart be so loose on the back end until the tyres warmed up!! Every corner you could slide from using too much throttle.
  6. What do you do about finding super unleaded where you are? easy enough to find..... Lovely motor!!
  7. What time is best to try and get there for? Ive never been to a SS, so it'll be all new for me.
  8. Anyone else going Sunday Service next Sunday? http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=229&t=1652976
  9. It not right for a customer to walk in and out of the workshop let say unsupervised, if something heavy were to fall on the customers foot or worst the garage is liable - this will never change and shouldn't. The customer is not insured to be there, simples. Going off topic a tiny bit also.
  10. Dont get overly caught up on mileage, condition matters more. GLWS
  11. Hell Citroen's new C3 comes with a built-in dashcam
  12. I think garages/technicians need to accept year on year more and more cars are having trackers and dash cams fitted, to which they need to sort their acts out. Be respectful towards other peoples stuff and if not accept the potential repercussions. Main dealer that we deal with on a daily basis. Now video the the work they do and vehicle healt checks and post these online for the customer to view, so this tosh about tools and safety is rubbish. If anything cameras can actually safe gaurd the garages. Speed camera on the drivers way home after visiting the garage, then states this was done whilst with the garage. His dash cam IF left plugged in could prove the tech was never even on that peiece of road.
  13. Not long after buying my car it needed an alternator, thankfully covered under warranty. booked it in to a local indy and the process for both the garage and the warranty company went smoothly. No dash cam fitted at the time, however i did set both a movement and speed command to the vehicles tracker which would text me the moment the vehicle left the garage and if it went over a set speed. The vehicle movement alert came to my phone but the max speed never did and the vehicle was taken on a nearby dual carriage way by them and fair play to the tech didn’t break the speed limit. The moment the vehicle was taken on road test and back to the garage, they called me up to advise of the update which is all any customer can ask for along with the above.
  14. The garage didnt unplug the dash cam, the tech did
  15. It's electrical, can last 5 weeks or 5 years just like a telly in my mind sadly.
  16. You could take your buckets, shampoo, pre wash, mitts and wheel brush to a buy time jet wash. I did this for years and still do now and it's great. £1/£2 ie the minimum to get things going with your pre wash and jet off for your 400 seconds allowing time to also part fill your bucket. Wash the car as you would then normally taking as much time as you need. Then another £1/£2 to then finally jet the car off. You could then pull the car round to the side to dry off or the drive home will do this for you - bingo. My Local BP is just £1 for a few minutes, so £2 is all that's needed.
  17. Developed a very annoying metallic rattle from the steering wheel and instrament cluster area. Turned out to be the three 10mm's holding the ECU in place had come loose, yay easy fix. Next up, intermittent clonking clutch pedal.
  18. I've not heard of this swap being done
  19. Check tyre pressures, as these could be way to high.
  20. New ride looks wonderful!! any plans
  21. Few pictures from Ace Cafe London the weekend. Fell on a really nice day weather wise, so much so that I didn't even feel the need to re clean once we got there which was nice result!! Even held its own parked next to a newer 350z with only 28k on the clock.
