Actually, that's a good point: Does the budget allow for PCP as well as HP? Because that's going to open up a whole new world if so... Or hell, go leased and do it that way. for that sort of mileage, lease is probably a good option oh well, but technically I wouldnt want to put 20k a year onto those either, so scratch that idea.... Whats the small BMW? M1? For the OP or the one that has never seen an Evora? When doing 20k miles a year, head needs to rule the heart! Great cars, not for the OPs budget though. Got to be close.... especially if they are looking at RS5s and GTRs.

Not sure how much the 370 costs to maintain, but the GTR would fit the bill for most of that - not sure about 20k a year though. I have had mine a little over 3 years, but its a second/third car for me and I am happy to leave it with my mechanic for 2-4 weeks at a time. Its great on the motorway, lots of space, etc. The issue would be Nissan again.... I refuse to use Nissan, unless I absolutely have to! They are also not the best at being speedy to correct an issue.... when my bellhousing became a problem, they want to take the car apart, check the part send notification to Nissan, wait for approval of warranty, order the part and then fit when they had time. All in, they said 6 weeks........ Sly did the work in less than 6 hours and ordered the parts 2 days before. How many dealers are going to be any better than that? I seriously doubt that Merc would be. I tested the C63 AMG and loved the noise, didnt like much else (seating position was weird, handbrake is very weird and its just a standard car with a v8). My missus had a Range Rover from new and it was back with them every 3-4 weeks and they were utterly useless!!! I think its more the service of the dealer than the car! With that in mind, my recommendation is 2x GTR 1 to use, 1 to have serviced

I found them a pain to get in and out of with the roof on, as above, hire and try before you buy!

I have the 550 one in the GTR and its great... video is great quality, the main issue I have is stringing the videos together, working on that though.

I would prefer it with the 6.3AMG motor

Its a stunning car and really hope the DO make it and price it well, so that we at least see them on the road, unlike the LFA. Agree I wish it would come in close to £40k, as I would consider one, but it will all depend on the engine and gearbox it gets given. If its only a 2l turbo, then it will be doubtful that I would purchase it. There is a lot of good competition out there and Toyota needs to think about this carefully. When did Toyota last make a performance car? Nissan had to come in a lot lower price wise to get the GTR into the market, I doubt there would be many on the roads if they started at £75k for the car. I wonder if they will do a 2l turbo petrol engine with some sort of electric hybrid motor, similar to the 918? and then you will have a pricetag like the Lexus LFA

Having come from a similar car 480bhp supra In all honesty the 350z (thats with TC off) is well behaved compared to the Supra... Supra was in constant argument about which end of the car wanted to be infront of the other! The Supra in the wet was just something else........ its like a psychopath in the bushes, just waiting for the right moment to jump out and kill you! Sorry Graham, have to disagree on that one, in comparison to what your describing mine was very well behaved and dint often brake away without provocation even at 540BHP and nearly as much torque, i drove it hard in all kinds of weather too.... mind you i can remember a lot of posts on the Supra forum about Supras stepping out all over the place, but it was usually down to bad alignment and/or tyres. 540 = single right? I was running hybrid twins, so maybe that made a difference. I had new tyres and the alignment was done. Was wet/damp on the days the above happened.... didnt have any good summers during my ownership of the car. It was the final nail in the coffin for the car... driving home one evening after a long day at work, with NO provocation the back decided it was time for the passing move!! All I wanted to do was drive home nice and calmly, but the car had other opinions and that was when I decided to sell.

I have scared the hell out of a pedestrian that wasnt paying attention the road and just crossed, admittedly he was at a crossing I had accelerated into the tunnel for the noise of a non-resonated GTR and saw the red light and stopped in plenty of time, he still wasnt very impressed.... looking the opposite way, he managed a 1m jump back onto the pavement. His girlfriend found it hilarious!! Time and place for everything.... where is that? Track only? Tracks all have noise limits.........
