  1. Just tried the hair dryer trick and it it did nothing, but at least it didn't cost me anything. Anyone else know how much this should be costing?
  2. Hi, looking to get a dent removed from my rear 1/4 (someone dinged me in a car park and drove off). The paint is fine, the scuffs buffed out, but there are 2 dents on the wheel arch. I've been quoted by 3 different places: £75 for drilling a 1/2 inch whole in the door shut to access and fix but they can fix anything on the very edge of the arch £110 for a fix that would get in to 80% fixed £240 for a repair and paint job. I wasn't expecting to have to pay for paint! Do any of these seem unreasonable?
  3. It could be the pulley squealing not the belt.
  4. If the iphone is charging you can enable a setting where you can say 'hey Siri' to start Siri rather than press the home button. You can also enable this function to operate when the phone isn't plugged in by jail breaking. I did this recently and having never jail broken before had it up and running in 20 minutes. However I ran into a major problem with Siri and ICE. If you connect your phone to your ICE using the audio jack it cuts out the iPhones internal microphone so Siri won't work unless you splice in an external mike into the audio jack. You might be able to use the 350z hands free mic?
  5. I like the way the topic suggests hidden gems and people are suggesting Cohen brother’s films… If you want to mix comedy and cars I’d suggest the French film series Taxi (not the American remake!) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0152930/ The Spanish film Timecrimes (Los Cronocrímenes) is also great – but it’s the kind of film that’s best watched without knowing anything about it. You can’t describe it without giving away the basis of the plot. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0480669
  6. Out of Interest, what are the chances of the insurance paying out when it’s fairly obvious it’s the insured drivers fault (ignoring undeclared mods)?
  7. Anyone have any experiance with emulators and good old fashioned roms? Just built a Porta Pi with Retro pie and could do with some advice http://www.retrobuiltgames.com/diy-kits-shop/porta-pi-arcade-wood-kit-hd/
  8. My money was split across loads of different funds all from the H&L wealth 150+ and a couple of direct shares, been doing it for 5 years and steadily returned 5-10% per year on average. I'll be honest, I just looked at the estimated yields and picked the ones with the highest estimates whilst trying to diversify as much as possible. Cashed in everything last week. Overall I did okay but I'm fully aware that by starting when I did the market environment made it particular easy. Get in at the bottom get out at the top, think I've fluked it! I think it would be difficult to start now. Best return was 150% return from Netflix in ~6 months.
  9. Take the Jump and build a gaming PC, Windows 10 will make compatibility between XBox one and PC easier. Its a fun thing to do and you learn a few things along the way. You can always buy a console once they drop in price. The modding scene on PC makes great games even better, all those littel annotances you have with games are all of a sudden fixed!
  10. My guess would be the microphone for the hands free, its normally on the windscreen behind the mirror, but maybe you've had the windscreen replaced and who ever did it just put it on the back of the mirror. Actually just goggled it and its Ariel for the hands free kit, it was used before Bluetooth was introduced. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/59362-sensor-on-windscreen-by-rear-view-mirror/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/23686-what-is-the-sensor-behind-the-rear-mirror/
  11. took me 4 attempts at cheap ones (~£10) to find one that worked. This is the only one I could get to connect. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0051CFGBA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00 Its never reported any faults though! I use Dash command or torque
  12. My guess would be your radiator fans have been replaced with the Mishimoto fan shroud, its a common mod. Had mine done a while ago and they they make a lot of noise compared to OEM. I can't hear them over the after market exhaust and sound system though , so I only hear them when I'm stopped.
  13. I've got a pair for sale £60 + say a £5 for P&P.
  14. By the time this technology reaches the masses we won't be driving cars or owning cars. Elon Musk has stated he believes this is where the market will end up. There will still be enthusiasts, but human drivers would need to be restricted to certain roads.
  15. very odd place for a crack, I'd like to know the sorry behind that! Pm Zmanalex for 2nd hand door trim or try Clark motor sport for a new one. Trim is usually very easy to fit, getting the old stuff off without breaking it is usually the hard part.
  16. Is it really worth calling the insurance over this? Your rise in premiums over the next 5 year s following a claim will outweigh the cost of repair?
  17. Ha... I've had the exact same problem since i brought mine.
  18. Where did you stick the sub, looks an odd shape for the ZED. GLWTS
  19. Mine went at 75K about 1k after i brought it. Changed the slave cylinder, fly wheel and clutch for £1k inc. labour.
  20. Check the build thread in my signature. !st post about 4 or 5 pics down. Better pics in my gallery: http://www.350z-uk.com/gallery/album/345-cubby-box-phone-mount/
  21. I was thinking this, or planting some bushes.
