Fallen in love....and put myself in a real dilemma!
Jetpilot replied to Kraziekatz1's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Vx220 are the same tub as a v2 Elise, the vx220 has a slightly wider track and runs 17's all around, most people seem to swap the 17" front to the same as Elises 16". Ok so the vx220 i bought was a step further and running 355hp and it is a proper weapon on track, but a good stage 2 charged at circa 250hp would be a very very fast track car and can be bought for £10-£12k, for that kind of money, there really isnt much that will touch it and if you want to have a Lotus badge on the front with the same speed, look at spending twice as much. If you want just a 2.2 na, £8k will get you into one. Whilst the civic are very fine to drive, they are wrong wheel drive. P.s The national b race licence is nothing about speed or pace, the track part is just to demonstrate you are aware of racing lines and your surroundings, i.e other cars on track, you will not be asked to drive at speed, it was the easiest part of the test, we did ours in a Skoda Yeti -
To add to the above, you and you alone hold the key to your happiness, you should never rely on other people to make you happy

Exactly, forget the hype around xmas, accept it for what it is, another day... I would also suggest with your threads of late, you need to go talk to a professional, whilst the forum may offer a lot of encouragement and support and some very kind gestures, you need to sit down with someone and talk It's just where I've ended up in life. Both parents dead before 30, estranged family, all friends settled with kids and I'm single lol. I don't think a professional can help with any of the above! They can if you feel your state of mind is a direct result of the reasons above, they will probably be the only people that can help imho. I ask you this, whats the worst that can happen by doing so and whats the best that can happen?

I would doubt there is much call, hence why carbon is all you can find.

Still probably wouldnt see our premiums go down though

In theory it should, if you were hit by a state insured driver and were seriously injured, you would want to be able to claim, however, i totally get the point that it would be rife for scamming, not that it isnt now to be fair, so cant see it would make much difference. Perhaps they could introduce a proper clause that unless you are hospitalised for "x" number of days with medical evidence of said injury, no personal claims will be supported?

Slightly ironic when most insurance companies require uprated pads and discs if your running anything other than near std hp, when i insured my charged zed the question was asked, have the brakes been upgraded, no question of what make they were or did they have whatever ece r90 approval. My advise would be, dont loose any sleep over it......

Would be good to see a state sponsored 3rd party cover imho

custom d.i.y single turbo build? whos done it??
Jetpilot replied to LDUNKZ18's topic in Forced Induction
Sensible budget but will be a troublesome journey imho and thats just for the pipework knowing how tight a fit std manifolds are, but sounds like its one you want to tread so go for it, its obviously not rocket science but way beyond my skill set, good luck and look forward to the outcome. -

Budget? Yes they work, but you will need to link both banks if what Ricky was suggesting. -

Perhaps its good to get back to basics, we already know your hp gains, so whats the budget and how much of the work can you do yourself, welding/pipe bending and general mechanical background? -

Turbonetics have improved, they were getting very popular on uk rx7's when I got out of mine. Be careful of fitment issues associated with being designed to fit lhd vehicles. I seem to remember jdmdistro having a single turbo kit for sale, may be worth checking if they still have it. As for one where the air box sits, probably a reason why it isnt a popular place etc -

Am i wrong in saying there were options when it came to the bodykit on the s tune, it seems on google images there were different flavours, i.e Nismo version 1, not just the one above that looks like its melted on a hot day? -
I am a fan of the generic unbranded stuff, run through a decent amp and they sound very good, although i did buy an android at the beginning of the year and not got on with it all when it comes to wifi downloads, always seemed to have signal issues even with near full wifi showing.
