Try D2, sure they did some work for my mate building the mr2 rally car.
-
I am pretty sure if you speak to D2 they will make you brackets to fit the 350z calipers, but you will need to send a hub, disc and caliper to them. Could you not go m6 brakes or are they just silly money, wont fit under 18's?

Any "reviews" from those with 400-450whp S/C setups?

Thats the irony, rotaries like being thrashed, keeps the build up carbon down on the tips. The general problem is as Ekona alludes to, when released people treated them like modern low maintenance piston engines, didnt check oil levels and or used the wrong oil, I.e not mineral and did short journeys, rotaries also dont like start stop short trips.
-
If its original its likely to have hks stamped on it and a "jasma" plate.
-
It may a little, but i would doubt its noticeable, if its a cheap rep though you may well burn your wadding out quickly with the heat, that would be my only concern.
-
P.s for the op, a compression test is not the same as a std piston checker, you need a proper mazda rotary compression checker which measure each part of the triangular rotor, so you end up with 3 readings per rotor. Mazdarotaryclub is another good forum with some great info and guidance.

Why would a resonator not work because it gets hot?

The perfect thread for, if you dont like the answer, dont ask the question and if you honestly cannot differentiate between what an exhaust routed through straight through silencers and a blowing exhaust sounds like, its no wonder you dont hear (excuse the pun) what we are saying and to think you have stumbled on the holy grail of avoiding buying £600 plus stainless systems for the sake of some "washers" well we might as well lock the thread now, nothing more to see here
-
Whilst in theory your right, I would hazard a guess not one single exhaust has been made and tuned to suit a 350 and they certainly arent made trying to change the area under the power curve, you can buy loud exhausts, quiet exhausts and some in between and none of them will perform differently to any degree.
-
Tell that to Ferrari, Porsche etc etc, its just by passing a silencer as and when you require
-
Yes, just buy a remote operated exhaust valve, loud/quiet at the flick of a button, this isnt barry boys
-
Absolutely, I wish they would start to punish, middle lane morons, tailgating, lack of indication with the same enthusiasm and penalties. I have no idea why they dont to be honest.

Absolutely and if its something you want to do, go for it I have done it before and its a great journey, just if i think back to all the money i have thrown at this sort of thing, it makes you think twice and let someone else take the hit, but if your comfortable with it, you will enjoy the ride -

Yep, i even said somewhere in this post i wouldnt drop that kind of money into a zed, just buy one done and your resale will be on par with anything else. -
I bet 90% of them answered

You can include most of the cars mentioned above in that I understand if something has racing heritage/pedigree though.

I can genuinely say that is the funniest thing you have ever written We all have mates who cannot seem to see the wood for the trees it seems -
I am absolutely saying that I think a very large number are not in the appropriate order. And once again, I'm blaming the length of the lap and the variation of surface/driver/prevailing track conditions. The Top Gear test track is a MUCH better meter of which cars are faster, as the times are all made by the same driver on a short lap so much less scope for variation, plus the TG test track is also rough, a good approximation of real road surfaces. The main problem with TG is that they don't care if it's wet or dry, so there's no consistency on that front, but under more controlled conditions, it would make for better comparisons than the Green Hell. Short laps introduce new variables of course, for example, did they warm up the tires, how much fuel are they carrying, but overall, much less scope for variation. tg track is a flat smooth circuit, no lumps or bumps, no real off camber corners, it bears about as much resemblance to the real world as driving around on the grass, 350z and rx8 are exactly the same time, on general roads the 350z is a quicker car, it would only be on real twisty roads where the rx8 held any advantage. Track and roads are very very different animals. I thought the c2s was the daddy of handling over a lardy turbo? Id be surprised if a GTR is slower than a CSL as well. M3 CSL? The gtr has so many times, as low as 7.19 so takes your choice on that.

If it nets more revenue, its a great thing I suppose, as Ekona says, if your stupid enough to get caught etc But if its designed to deter people from speeding, its just a nonsense (and they know this) same as the new mobile phone use laws, the odd person that use a mobile phone might stop, but if you actually want to deter people from using a mobile, instant ban and huge fine, its not rocket science. Problem is, the less people using the roads, the less revenue they get, fuel, ved, insurance tax etc I would bet in the next few years the points available goes up from 12 to whatever.

I would suspect that because the ring is effectively a road and as close to our normal daily driving conditions I.e its not a lovely smooth short race circuit, it offers a benchmark of simulated road performance/pace and general abilities, long straights, very fast sweeping corners, tight corners with all the lumps and bumps and everything in between. Whilst the times set down may be slightly spurious with regards to complete accuracy, I would very much doubt you could look through the times and hand on heart tell me that a slower timed car is actually quicker than some of the cars above it. It paints a picture, just a slight blurry one, a lot like dynos
