  1. I agree about the SLS, a mate has one and its devastingly fast, it is the size of a small cruise liner though
  2. 0-60 is pretty much irrelevant imho, it may be great for pub willy waving but in reality how often do you get a chance to go from 0 to 60? Adding into the mix having to get it absolutely spot on to achieve published figures, a 0 to 60 dash with anything close is always going to be a 50/50 chance of winning if you ask me. Anything that is a quoted as 6 seconds or under is fast and once your down to below 4 or 5 seconds its all down to clever traction or launch control systems that are way more advanced than our 10 year old designed 350's electronics There will also be a very very clever diff in that Astra allowing for 276hp to be put down through the front wheels! But it is just that, an Astra, which blends into obscurity on the roads and on his driveway.
  3. True story. Has the RX8 come up? I was a hair's breadth from one before I was seduced by a Zed. Rx8 was on my list against the Zed, i wanted to stay rotary, but steered away as very limited to what power you can make out of a renesis engine even with a turbo or supercharger.
  4. That was a general compare the market and almost the same from my daily driver insurer who is Lifesure (usually staggering cheap) I guess we have the uninsured drivers and "whiplash" culture to thank!!
  5. Has the world gone mad, lowest quote i could get for a 1.4 Nissan Cube is a shade over £300!!!!!! I am 43, live in a nice area, no points, 9+ years no claims. My Zed is only a £100 or there abouts more than that (ltd 5000 miles) all mods declared and 4 trackdays thrown in!! I personally cant see i am a risk or a 1.4 Nissan Cube thats worth £3k!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. haha theres a good chance that will happen And there is a good chance you wont get such a balanced and patient response for the third time, lol Perhaps its just like one of those girlfriends you get, always looking for the next best ting but once their gone you realise what you liked about them and they were actually pretty damn good I say get rid, try something else, its not like its unique, you can always buy another
  7. If I was you I would win the auction and say you will collect when you get your diffuser!
  8. Nowhereboy suggests your a male, but with the way you change your mind are you sure your not a female??
  9. No, i might want to buy the Cube, just wondered if the guy who owns the car sales was here because of the Zed in the background
  10. Anyone on here or who is here, heard of the above, in Ruslip, only reason i ask is they have a Nissan Cube for sale and notice there was a white 350z in the background?
  11. If my memory serves me correct Brides are only rated up to 75 kgs
  12. Interesting prospective and i shared a similar experience. I came from 10 years of Rx7's, my last one had anywhere between 450 - 501 hp (the 1 part is important, lol) pending on boost and in a 1250kg car, thats supercar + fast. My time with them was done though and realised the zed in terms of performance was going to be well shy, most cars in my budget in fact, unless i wanted to get into modifying heavily again. I had to adjust my prospective on what fast was or is. I had already decided, whilst how ever much fun it is, the Rx7 was just too much power to be usable on the road in anything but completely dry conditions and you so quickly into license loosing speeds, it was massive overkill. I have readjusted to the Zeds performance, i think its very competent and has more than adequate hp for road use, give it a shot of forced induction and believe it will live with the best of em out there on the road, a 911 Turbo S only has 326bhp per tonne and a 400 ish hp Zed wont be far off that for fractions of the cost GTR is at that power level, because it was cheap and easy to acheive (K&N panels, downpipes, ypipe, 1000cc injectors and a remap).... anymore and its a big jump, rods are the weak point and need to be replaced for the next stage of tuning. When I was looking at what to buy, before the GTR, I had had enough of modding cars and was looking at Astons, Porsches, Fezzas, etc. Then a friend told me to take a GTR for a drive............. nothing else came close. So I know where you are coming from, I really dont want to be modding cars heavily anymore - this is why (combined with the fact that I have the GTR) I dont want to go FI on the Z. Any links to your old RXs? Sound quite nice and the 1bhp makes all the difference!! Maybe it comes down to driving style and a minor issue with the car..... if there is a fault, then it will be given another chance No, i destroyed all knowledge i had owned it, lol, think i have the dyno run saved, will put it up Worth mentioning that is with just 1.1 bar of boost I would have a GTR all day (if budget permitted), personally i am not a huge fan of the styling but without spending at least double you cant come close

  14. Interesting that both cars mentioned that the Zed left wanting to in terms of driving enjoyment are front wheel drive hot hatches (focus, civic). Maybe this is your problem, the driving style of those two are worlds apart from a rwd drive car with good hp available. You wont be able to just chuck a zed around and hope to come out the other side pointing vaguely in the right direction like you can in a civic and fiesta. I would hazard a guess that in both cases the zed is your first big capacity rwd car, if that guess is right you will need to adapt your driving style to suit to get the most out of it and when you do it will become a far more rewarding drive than any hot hatch and on the most part, considerably quicker in the right environment and by that I mean anything but a very tight A road. However, rwd is not for everyone and you may prefer the front wheel drive experience but if the general performance of fwd is why you changed, have a drive of awd and try and evo or scoob! To also echo the thoughts of others, you cant expect to own a performance car without the associated costs and I would also agree a zed is probably one of the cheapest to run.
  15. Could have easily been 4-0 if that test wasnt called off for bad light, or 4-1 when the rain saved England, but they were closer tests Absolutely agree about Oz though, they hadnt won any test for ages, maybe it was just performing at home on pitches they groomed to suit their attack and nullifying ours (swann)?? Nathan Lyon getting 5 wickets, will enjoy seeing him against a batting attack in form!
  16. I dont really see evos and scoobs being sports cars, they are rally derived saloon cars, i have had a couple of both and whilst very quick point to point and up to 80 ish they arent geared to push on from there, i would say a z would be on there tails if you were rolling and carrying some speed, unless they are fettled with! Do we need a kit car category for VX's?
  17. Jetpilot

    Why is it

Audi drivers here need shot. They don't use their indicators here and take two lanes on roundabouts! On a big roundabout if people don't indicate it slows everyone down. I think thats just Audi drivers in general, Chelsea tractors are pretty bad too
  18. I semi agree, but you dont get to Number 1 in the world not that long ago with predominantly the same squad we have just seen. Rip em apart is fine, again i sort of agree as some players positions seemed nailed on regardless of form, a good kick up the rear and you would see who improves and wants to play, problem is, is not like the football market where you can buy in some form to challenge for vacant positions and there really isnt anyone better playing county cricket, particularly with the bat
  19. ..."instantly" - I suddenly had visions of the people in the north of England waking up the day after the vote to see a huge wall being slung up on the horizon We live in hope again
  20. Perhaps a strange question but if this gets say a 50.5% yes vote does that mean it will happen or does there have to be an overall majority and if the vote is yes, how long will it take for Scotland to be independent. will be instant?
  21. Not sure if there are any cricket lovers on here and perhaps posted in the wrong section first, but if there are, what has gone so horribly wrong in the Ashes? Team selection Captain Management Individual players Game plans Or just Australia have been way too good? Sadly i dont see it as Australia have been too good, a number of times we have made good progress with the ball getting the top order out for not a lot and Haddin, Smith etc have come to the crease and put on extraordinary runs for respectively middle order & tail end batters and Nathan Lyons taking 5 wickets on a non turning pitch bowling round the wicket, you got to be kidding me! So has it been a combo of all the above, adding into the mix some woefully poor fielding at times and also some bad luck (first toss won today)? So whats the answer, wholesale changes as in this test? Although at this early stage that doesnt look to be working, Rankin was carrying an injury before the game and only passed fit on the morning, why risk it? Sadly been watching all the verdicts at 9pm to see what the pundits/ex players have to say. One thing stuck out for me, seems to be the good old, if plan a doesnt work almost immediately, bowl short, seems they have no patience to stick to their guns and follow a plan. Broad is awesome bowling line and length with the odd bumper to push them back but after years and years he seems to ignore how he takes his wickets. Will also add, Cook against Clarke as Captain is night and day, whilst Clarke reacts almost instantly, its almost too late by the time Cooky seems to realise the game is getting away from them. Hoping for one excellent first innings to give a good lead of 150 - 200 runs over the Ozzies and see how they react under real pressure. Quote MultiQuote Edit
  22. Presuming as it was won, you can leave bad feedback, which you should
  23. No you are taking it out of context, it is the only way of ensuring that Scotland remains a member of the EU, by whatever negotiation is needed. The UK government, or rather the political party that is in charge at the moment, is committed to a referendum to leave, this is something that Scotland does not want, so the only way of ENSURING we stay in is independence. I thought that was an obvious point, happy to clarify So how do you know Scotland will be extended the offer of membership when Iceland and Turkey havent? This is the question Im asking that seems to have been avoided for the last two pages, this is what I want to know. I know, 100%, cast iron, first article, etc, that if the UK rejects the referendum to leave the EU we will remain members. How do you know that an independent Scotland will become an EU member to the point that "its the only way of ENSURING" you stay in? In short, Turkey and Iceland are not part of member states at the moment Scotland is, and, for various financial and political reasons, Turkey will find it harder and harder. Iceland not so. On your second point, it's obvious. To Jetpilot After watching several dozen debacles, from new IT systems at the MOD, education changes every other week, Clegg to the bus lane on a motorway debacle, Donald Trump is the least of anyone's worries I was amending my post in interest of balance whilst this came up
  24. After watching the debacle with Donald Trumps golf course, I think Scotland would last about 6 seconds with Alex Salmond in charge! Personal views, i think its wrong the way it is now that Scotland get to decide how they do certain things with they way its run contrary to central government so stand on your own two feet and see how you get on and that is no way directed individually at any Scot, just the Scottish Government. Knowing how independent some Scots are i would imagine it will be a close run thing as they wont be able to resist voting yes to "show" England they can succeed On balance and to add, i would trust him as much as any UK politician to be fair, Blair and his wmd etc was just a joke. Politicians these days seem only interested in being in "power" and beating the opposition, i dont think any of them actually have any idea how to improve our economy or make the country better, sheer egotism at its finest.
  25. Always send stuff recorded/signed for, to be fair with most things now i use parcel2go, so much cheaper than Royal Mail and its collected
