No rolling on the rears with -5, is that with a fair bit of camber and stretch on the tyre? I dont have -5 on the rears or have you quoted the wrong one? As for tyres I run 225/45/18 (front, stretched) 245/45/18 (rear, little stretched) No rolling on the rears with -5, is that with a fair bit of camber and stretch on the tyre? Too much tinkering by far to try and make it close racing, which has obviously failed, particularly this year. Stop tinkering and introducing stupid rules like double points, drs, kers or now ers, tyre design etc etc No point in having a full grid if half the cars cant compete, i would prefer to see 3 teams and 6 cars if the racing was tighter, who really cares about what is going on half way down the field, does anyone really have any interest in caterham (apart from being british) and Marrusia and what they achieve. Its just a fill in until you see the leaders again if you are at the circuit. I want to see drivers racing their cars to their full ability for all of the race, not a number of laps and then 70% or so.

Ah your quite far away from me, I was gonna suggest getting in contact with Julian at Garage D in watford as thats where my engine is being rebuilt/uprated. He also has a VQ30DET for £1500 for sale. fits straight in to a Zed. Nice 3ltr single turbo if you fancy a nice engine swap. I was gonna go for it but I wanna do a RB25 engine conversion next year! I am not so sure its thats simple to fit the vq30, do you know if they retain all the standard canbus system and how they overcome the throttle, 350 is fly by wire and vq30 is cable? You are correct with the throttle it just get put on to a cable instead of electronic, Julian said its really easy to do. He knows his stuff and he said it has the same mounts and fits straights onto the gear box. the only part thats a lot work/money is making the pipe work for the intercooler and a custom exhaust. Apart from that it goes straight in. There was a post somewhere on here that a dude in America had done it before and it worked really well. Think it was on your thread, i did a little looking about after you mentioned it and it is talked about a lot in the states but not many conversions actually done. Would like to hear more details about the wiring up, ecu and canbus stuff but cant seem to find any details on it If my engine ever went pop it would be something i would look at for sure I was so tempted as He has the engine complete with ECU and loom for £1500. If my engine had gone bang any other time other than christmas I would of done in in a heart beat, but Ive gone with a a full rebuild with uprated parts. Julian has said to me he wants to do a RB25 conversion on my car, so see what the funds say in the summer. I'd love to see one of the 35z-uk family do the VQ30 conversion, but not for the reasons their engine has died, cause no one likes hearing that. There is a company in the states who do a rb25 conversion kit, will try and find the site, if i was going for something like that though (big hp) i think i would go a 2jz though, kits available of the shelf and a bombproof engine, 500 - 600hp without breaking a sweat Apparently you can fit 350z heads onto the vq block as they give better breathing http://my350z.com/fo...z-2jz-swap.html WOW! http://tech2motorsports.com/products.php?c=4&s=13 http://www.driftworks.com/forum/drift-car-projects-builds/71587-my-finished-project-2jz-350z-tech-2-motorsports.html

Works like a charm again Thanks Pete

These guys are the only people I have seen doing nice gauge faces for the zed. http://www.blackcatcustom.com/

+1 on Camskill prices, but needs to be a tyre they shift a load of to get really good prices as they buy them by the bucket load. I bought some Federal Rsr's 265/35/18 for my Rx7 for £170 each, awesome tyre, even on a damp trackday which surprised me, plenty of grip and gave plenty of feel when getting close to the limits and if it did go it was very manageable.

Thanks for the input buddy. You can never have enough information imho and appreciated the post with your findings and facts on oil used etc

Cant believe i didnt recognise it, seen it at the zed shed

The recent spat of failures are mostly big ends, fuel octane rating will have no bearing (excuse the pun) on big ends, see Keyser & Busters very helpful xmas tale on a members car Oil or lack of will be the culprit. Of course as 2nd or 3rd owners etc of a car we have no idea just how previous owners have cared for the car besides any service history although that would be at specific intervals. I hate to be negative and by no means trying to have a dig at 350s, just trying to perhaps highlight causes for these big end failures, if there is any common ground of course, we could just dismiss it as circumstance or ask the questions for our own benefit
-
Well maybe not quite as simple and i am curious, so if you dont want to contribute, please dont Octane rating of fuel will make no difference to big end bearings which seems to the theme at present

There have been a few Zeds with broken engines recently, mainly bottom end failures it would seem. In general the question of oil level is bought up, but not what oil are you using. So with anyone with a broken zed like to contribute to what oil they are using. I am using Castrol Edge 5w-30 fully synth, when i told a good friend of mine who is very experienced with Skyline tuning he said instantly, get it out of there, i wont repeat the rest, lol. He explained further with examples and made note to a tuned R32 which he did an oil change to using Edge. By all accounts oil temps were a good few degrees higher immediately after changing, did a few 100 miles and wasnt convinced so swapped it out, i cant remember what he said he used (Motul i think) but did say oil temps were back to previous readings and the Edge he took out seemed to be very thin and contaminated, like a flushing oil. Not looking to get into a Edge is fine battle as it came recommended to me by Opie and i am sure they know their onions, but i would be curious to members recent failures if they want to contribute.

But you can pour glitter on it Please either paint your jdm calipers or get some Brembos, will be worth it in the long run

The best looking 350 around and only two distant photos at the kerb side! I find these style of adverts so lazy, at least if you think its best looking 350 around get plenty of quality photos in a decent location.

-
Round mine, i do you a swap for one drift trike, lol
-
Where can i buy one of those drift trikes :)

I agree mate, BF4 campaign is awful. So went and bought BF3 for a fiver, i'd forgotten how good it was! I concur, bought on Sunday, campaign finished by Thursday and that was a hour or two here and there, not constant play! Good campaign but just way way to short imho.

They came on a set of wheels i bought in the summer, my wheels already had good tyres so held them as spares but having a clear out and putting the money toward some 18" track day tyres Yokohama are a very good tyre
