  1. Try the spotted on ebay thread, new boot struts for circa £29
  2. Edit, replied to wrong thread.
  3. Sure you would have been happy with any of your choices, horses for courses and all that. The reality for me is, whilst it would seem the gtr prices are holding firm, the other two will drop, so you may get a year or two almost depreciation free motoring which might bring the higher budget maser into budget without having to add to the pot. Win, win.
  4. So exactly as per my first post, does the op want form or function ; ) Stickering something up to pretend its something its not is a different subject entirely
  5. Not knowing any better so prepared to be shot down, but is this bedding in process really necessary? Have a quick read of three links put up from different bake manufacturers, all slightly different, take your pick and sure you will be happy that their procedure works and your brakes will be sufficently bed in, there is no definitive guide to follow.
  6. I have a wheel inc controls both sides in great condition as I did exactly what you did. Pm me if interested.
  7. Astonishes me there are whole glossy magazines devoted to celebrity scandal/gossip
  8. http://www.apracing....73&ProductID=30 http://www.stoptech.com/technical-support/technical-white-papers/bed-in-theory-definitions-and-procedures/stock-brake-system-bed-in http://www.dba.com.au/tech-article-t017-basic-initial-brake-bed-in-street/
  9. It would seem a big bone of contention on here is clutch issues, remember it is a wear and tear item and could go at any point, so best to factor in a possible exchange into your budget at some point imho, it may happen well done the line but that is something i would be considering due to the cost of repair, also consider tyres, circa £500 for some decent rubber and brake condition (discs and pads), most other items are relatively inexpensive (barring engine failure of course)
  10. I am not a fan and never have been, but genuinely cant help feel a little bit sorry for the guy, its like he has been handed a poison chalice. As for the media, any chance to jump on Clarkson they did (in most cases fairly) and now any chance to jump on the person that replaces him because Jc was so awful to them, they do, gutter journalism at its best.
  11. buy the cheaper one. Put on an APR Decal. Would people actually know the difference...................doubt it. A grand for a wing???? er....nooooooooo. A holiday.......er yes. Logic. As i said, if you after form rather than function any wing will do, if your asking will my bgw actually give me significant aero benefits only the APR is tested. Slapping a bgw on a car in any old random position isnt going to help at all, height/position/wing size/angle etc is why APR is a grand because they have invested the time and money in r&d to give you a working wing Or buy one of these and find out http://www.rpmware.com/catalog/group/51582
  12. Is it form or function your after, if your after looks any will suffice but if your after proven aero, apr. Not saying the others wont give aero but there is no data as per Apr, hence why they charge twice as much.
  13. We shall see what happens when zippy puts his mods back on and goes for an uprev I guess, please get a pre dyno run before they uprev zippy
  14. Is its purpose just as weight or a dampener to reduce vibrations which i have read elsewhere on here?
  15. There is a difference between negativity and reality. So another guy thinks, wow thats impressive, i will buy a plenum spacer, exhaust and i am going to get 295hp and when he gets 275 odd or whatever, you know he is going to link back to zippys 295 and ask, how come i didnt get 295, is my engine f**ked and the cycle continues. Imho members are only saying, take dyno figures with a pinch of salt, they are not the holy grail. Zippy noticed an improvement and that is the most important thing.
  16. Its just the way it is, trouble is, they add vat to the total, so you pay 20% extra on the shipping too which is a con. On the items i was looking at it was something like $342 to Bristol airport, if i wanted it to my door, another $220 I have literally no idea why if i buy something that has nothing to do with this country/government, even 2nd hand, i have to pay 20% + to them. I once bought 3 custom shaped surfboards from the states, i didnt quite realise at the time but it would have been cheaper (by a fair bit) to fly to California, have a weeks holiday, collect the boards and bring back as luggage. Just gone back through my emails so corrected figures above, lip kit $750
  17. Wish we got some snow on the south coast, just more wet stuff
  18. No base dyno to compare too. So in honesty those numbers are completely worthless. But stock it doesnt run at 295 Correct. However dyno's are not accurate machines. For example - My VXR8 showed a 34hp difference between 2 different dyno's within the same week. Without a base dyno run on the SAME dyno without your mods, you don't know what you have or haven't gained. Sorry to be negative on your thread mate, it's just a run over from a previous thread that myself and Dave were involved in. Well maybe i need to get it dyno'd elsewhere to compare. What i will say this that there more noticable torque which is nice. Why? Its not a comparison, its a different dyno and a different day. The only reasonably close comparison would be dyno in the morning, do the mods, dyno in the afternoon and even then something as simple as air intake temp could throw the readings. Forget the figures buddy, dynos are for tuning, the only thing hp figures are good for is pub talk. If your happy and feel there is an improvement thats all that matters well theres definitely an improvement from stock so yup im happy enough! And that is literally all that matters If you want to have a read about dynos and their operators: http://www.enginelogics.com/dyno-tested/

  20. Sorry buddy not fully up on them to be honest. I believe Doc has tried a few and never really seen any complaints with any of them to be fair, Bc, Hsd, Meister etc
  21. No base dyno to compare too. So in honesty those numbers are completely worthless. But stock it doesnt run at 295 Well no, but dynos are not gospel and 100% accurate, it may well have read 295 on that dyno before the mods is what is being said. My old tuner could make the dyno read any figure he wanted by putting in different figures to get the corrected power. Dynos are tuning tools and nothing more, the figures should be taken with a pinch of salt buddy.
  22. What was your dyno run before the mods?
  23. Meister r are doing a good deal at present £599, check out their page or Bodyboarder is selling a good shock/spring combo at the moment, if you dont plan on making loads of adjustment between road and track they are a very good set up.
  24. I have been using these generic units for a few years now in varying cars, probably had 4 or 5 and not had one fail on me yet. I used to be very much into ice but for the money I think these are excellent and unbeatable. I mostly use external amps and decent speakers so sound quality is good, but in my dailies I just use the internal amplifier/speaker outputs and still good. They are a little clunky in their operation, for example switching to sat nav takes a few seconds to load but for the costs I can live with that. I just bought one for my latest 350 and it cost £125, bluetooth, sat nav, dvd, cd, ipod, sd card, wifi, usb, graphic equaliser etc etc I did buy a android one which is now in my daily as function on ipod was a bit poor, I.e no shuffle just up and down through the tracks. P.s most of the android units do not have gps installed so you will have to download a relevant app and possible costs for voice guidance etc
