It is a valid point for sure and a ex girlfriends husband to be died in a car accident (Porsche) from what the investigators believed to be the direct cause although there was no visible damage to his head. Absolute freak accident though and sure roll cages/half cages/ roll bars have saved way more lives than they have taken, road or track. A half cage is no more dangerous than the 100's of convertibles out there with roll hoops or bars imho.

I had wondered that after the 'incident last year, but perhaps the fact he competes events where there are not others are generally not around to worry about is a factor.......? But then ZMANALEX has done thousands of laps at Knockhill in his roadster on track days over several years and that is pushing out over 660bhp, as well as his two GTR's, and they do not have roll cages perhaps, you wonder how he ever manages to sit down Mind you having enjoyed several laps with Alex in his first GTR at Knockhill I would not be surprised to hear he had driven the track blindfold such was his precision through the corners lap after lap and often the quickest driver....... Accidents happen, i have had caged and non caged cars, but, would always prefer to have one, just in case. I keep my eye open for a 350z half cage, but doesnt seem to be many options over here.

What are your season plans Andy? No consideration to getting cage or even half cage?

Get a limited mileage policy for the year rather than trying to reduce the policy to fire and theft, i doubt it would actually make a huge difference anyway just f & f for 6 months. All the above sounds a bit extreme tbh, wheels off etc. I would just get a decent winter cover (stormforce), put it on a trickle charge and have the odd Sat/Sunday blast and enjoy it when you can imho.

Modding is individual, thats why we all do it, we all have different tastes and preferred looks. I have to be honest, i would bizarrely much prefer to see something that wasnt to my taste than a 350 with chargespeed rear and rota gtrs, however much more it would be pleasing to the eye.

As Ekona says, people want others to like it for popularity, some care, some dont. Check out the comments Parellelo got, but kind of like i said, the fact some people werent approving, meant he had totalled succeeded in his vision I get it at work all the time, do you like this kitchen, do you like this bathroom etc If your spending a lot of money, even cars, some people want the admiration for the justification of the time and effort.

Surely there are no such things as unscrupulous car dealers You can actually imagine the phone call from the guy who actually got his Porsche, you mean someone else is ahead of me followed by a large amount of toys being launched and the, if i dont get that i will never buy another Porsche from you or simply a large brown envelope

If you haven't got an MX5 or a 135i/335i your not in the club anymore I used to be on there but as you said, its gone right down hill, its like a battleground for keyboard warriors. As Ekona points out, dont ask the question if you dont like the answer and that goes for any forum. On the flip side, i feel positively encouraged when certain people/members dont like what i have done as it means i have achieved the look i wanted I always try and write how i would speak to someone face to face (particularly someone you dont know), personally i think thats the big failing of "forums" on the whole and when its resorts to personal snipes, it boils my p*ss
