  1. Generally all the A/B roads in North Wales are pretty good, obviously some better than others. The B4391 is pretty fun, and usually quite quiet. The main problem is getting the roads quiet, with good weather. If the suns out, prepare to be stuck behind Sunday drivers, cyclists and camper vans. (I lived in Trawsfynydd for 2yrs)
  2. I travel about a fair bit, and the general standard of roads in the west of Scotland are IMO up there with the very worst in Western Europe that I've experienced. The Z isn't a nice car to drive on poor roads, and it is a problem that is starting to get me considering if I want to keep the car, given I do 70% of my motoring in the West of Scotland. I don't like my traction control flashing whilst driving normally. It was a brilliant car to drive on the good tarmac, and sweeping A roads of North Wales.
  3. The tram lining is terrible with the standard tyres. I never had too many issues when living in Wales, but since moving back home to Scotland, I am finding the inferior road surfaces hard to live with in the 370Z. It's hard to enjoy driving it on most B roads.
  4. If these are still about, I'd like one. Ridiculous a 4mth old car doesn't have new roads that have been around for 3-4yrs now.
  5. Admittedly I have the very top system (at least at the time) in the GT Edition, but.... there isn't that much difference surely?
  6. Select Bluetooth audio on the stereo. Open up the app you use to play music, and start it on the phone. It should play via the speakers, and the track skip should work. I find the call quality on the 370Z is terrible when making a call. The other person can't hear you, although my voice always seems to struggle with things like this for some reason.
  7. It's fairly simple to bluetooth to the car. I set it up with no trouble at all. Just make sure your phones bluetooth is set to always visible if you are having any problems. I stream spotify via bluetooth, and the skip track even works with it, which is a bonus.
  8. Normally I do park out the way, but..... it's one of the biggest supermarkets in Glasgow, located in a prime spot in the city, at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon.... The whole car park is busy. I had to drive about a fair bit before finding a space. I was only in the shop for 5 minutes, getting some drink for the BBQ I was going to, it was just a quick visit to the shop.
  9. I find my dash clock loses around 1 minute every 3-4 weeks on the GPS/Screen clock.
  10. The manager can't do anything about the CCTV without a police request. Obviously they can't show me it, due to data protection and the fact I might take the law into my own hands. I'm based in Beith. 25 mins from Glasgow. The damage is superficial. If it was a £3000 car, 7-8yr old car... it wouldn't annoy me 'that' much. However it's a £30k car, thats 4mths old.... it needs to be fixed, and I'd reckon we are talking £400-£500 to fix the bumper and alloy. I would park usually at the quiet bit of the car park, but it's an inner city Asda, at 3pm on a Saturday.... the whole car park is busy. That's the other annoying thing, the car park would of been busy, plenty folk would be around the main entrance and surely a handful would of noticed this happening.... nobody did anything. I know if I seen somebody bash somebodies car and drive off, I'd certainly take a note of the reg number, or at the very least make/model/colour of the car
  11. Saturday, I parked up at Toryglen Asda, went into the shop to get a few things, and came out to this. No note left. The alloy has a lovely big scuff on it too, which you can't see in the picture. The edge of the wheel arch is cracked, although you have to put pressure on the bumper to see this as it's springs back closed, but it will need plastic welded otherwise any paint work will just crack. Nothing major, but an expense I could do without! However the most annoying thing, is the total lack of interest from the police. Given where I was in relation to the entrance of the shop (see below), I feel there is an excellent chance the culprit may of been caught on CCTV. I reported it on Saturday, so they could make a request to view the CCTV. Frustrated that 4 days have past and I haven't heard anything, I chased it up today and discovered they haven't bothered to ask yet to see the shops CCTV footage. It's frustrating. Any idea how much I am talking to fix this? Don't want to be driving around in a 4mth old car with a scuffed bumper/alloy
  12. It's a 3.7 RWD sports/GT car, that is fairly heavy with big wide tyres. The economy is slated in the motoring press, but it isn't that bad considering what it is. I bought a Z and was pleasantly surprised at the MPG. Still @*!# compared to a uber economic diesel, but..... It's a 3.7 RWD spo............
  13. Try get into the power station outage circuit. Onshore work, much, much, much easier to get into, and lets you network a bit. Long hours initially, but good money even as a lowly labourer. With ex-forces history, you'd be desirable to take on. From that vantage point you could see a number of different career paths that would be attainable, eventually even leading down the offshore route, depending on what you decide. I could give you a number to try, for nuclear station work, if you PM me. It would be basic skivvying though, but easy work that would net you more than your target wage.
  14. Wait another +12mths I'm afraid. Second year accounts aren't due until early 2015 I believe, I haven't even posted my first year accounts yet, although due by the end of August. I don't really want to **** money down a drain renting for 12mths, when I may only actually live in the house for 3-6mths of that period, such is the nature of my job. Nor do I want to be a 30 something divorcee, living on a couple of pensioners sofa bed for the next 12mths either. I'm fortunate enough to be in a position where affordability is not a problem and deposit is not a problem. It is frustrating.
  15. I have been, they aren't entertaining me without 2yrs accounts! I've never bought a house before, so a little naive as to how it works. Like yourself my effective 'take home' is around the £4k pcm mark on average, although varies a fair bit depending on the amount of hours I am working. I just find it a little absurd, that a man driving a new Z, with around £12k sitting there ready to be used for a deposit, cannot get a 10yr mortgage on a £40k-£50k flat. Although it's also absurd that I'm currently sleeping on a sofa bed in my parents house. I really don't want to rent though, as it's pissing money down the drain for a house I'll spend more time away from than in.
  16. I would assume we have a fair few contractors of sorts in here, be them offshore, outages, IT, whatever. Basically I decided to go limited company 18mths ago, as it is a fair bit more tax efficient. Anyway, I recently split up with my wife. Basically I am looking to purchase a small flat at around £50k (I don't need anything fancy for the next few years, as I'm working away a lot), and have around 25% of a deposit I can put down on that value. I calculate that a mortgage would be around £100pcm cheaper than renting, and given I work away from home at least 6mths a year, I don't want to be renting a flat I am only using half the time! Has anyone any advice on contractor mortgages, and what companies to use? High street lenders don't seem to understand how Limited Company freelancers work, which is frustrating!
  17. Looking on autotrader I'd reckon I'd have around £2000 of a shortfall. This car seems to retail at around £7000 Car is a 1.2 Lounge edition, costing £11250 new, with a £1250 deposit. I've made 10 payments of £175 on the car for her. So spent £3000. The car has did 8000 miles. Rubs in an already quite humiliating situation that little bit more.
  18. Long story short. I bought my wife a new Fiat 500 last August. She decided to walk out on me last month. I'm about to take the car off her, as she isn't for paying for it and it is in my name, with payments out my bank account. What are my rights here towards handing it back? I really have no want or need for the car.
  19. I got a decent deal, yeah. About £6k off the list price of a new GT Edition Manual.
  20. What effect does this have on me. I bought a new 370z GT Edition in January. I've now split up with my wife, and now I'm needing to find a house of my own - unfortunately I can see the Z having to go around the turn of the year. Am I now likely left with a big deficit on my car?
  21. Cool air would make a slight difference in making the engine run better, however it would be roughly balanced by the cold air being denser and harder to move through.
  22. I was heading down towards the M74, enroute to dropping the car in at Macklins for it's first service.
  23. Can't say I seen one, but not knowing the area and trying to get out, I'd be paying attention to the signs and TomTom. Unless you drove right past me or were infront/behind me, I could of easily of missed you. On another note, I have never seen a 370Z on the road before. I've been paying attention since late October, when I first started looking at 370's. Seen 2x in 24hrs today. A black edition on the M8, and another GT Edition (although it turned out to be Macklins demonstrator, being driven home by a member of staff)
  24. Probably me, I was in Bellshill today, although don't know where as I'm from Ayrshire. White 370z GT Edition.
