  1. It's cool. The new guy's pretty good, but proper Spock steals the show. I couldn't help but feel a little Shatner cameo at the end wouldn't have hurt! Good find.
  2. I wasn't a big fan of two tone before, but... I think this has turned me round. Very nice job. Looks mint mate, you must be well pleased.
  3. Welcome. Very nice motor too. Second fastest colour I believe ;-)
  4. Had to rely on 3G for a couple of weeks when away, certainly put it in perspective My internet used to be great. With BE/o2. But now at peak times it slows down and you can't do everything you want to do. Terrible when porn buffers and it sticks on the fellas face I hear you, I remember as a youth trying to pause VHS on Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct, then you end up with shaky image of Dirty Doug or the fat guy from Jurassic Park licking his lips and sweating.
  5. After a restart I'm back to normal. Must be a specific app, I'll find it.
  6. With all apps closed via task manager, in airplane mode, (effectively idle) my activity monitor reports 50-60% CPU usage!
  7. Installed that just now, good tip, ta. Except install churned about 8%. Fortunately I have a V6 generator on standby to charge her up! I've been playing tunes all day and that seems to really cane it, now 24%. Switched to iPad for musical support.
  8. 43%, but it's been heavy usage, everyone wants a demo! I've shut down a few things now. Battery life always takes a pounding in beta!
  9. Sorry. Beta testing (or simply beta) is a lateish test phase of a new software release, before it goes out to the wider wold. Companies like apple release software in a version beta so that people like developers can get their applications (apps) ready for when the new software properly goes live. Also so people can find and report bugs before commercial release. Generally a beta version is a little bit unstable compared to a full release, so you often find it misbehaves, crashes, or is a bit grumpy - but so far I've found it quite stable personally.
  10. No, it's in beta, which you can pick up if you have a developer account and also via some other ways...
  11. Good effort, he'll still have a belter in 8.5 days. He'll probably be on the phone for cash in 4 days (I would!) you've saved yourself a few quid long term. ;-)
  12. Quite like it, bit freaky but sure I'll come round. Anyone else a heavy user of reminders? It seems to flip out frequently. (I know it's beta!) Enjoying the back and forward swipes for safari, it's like being back on my mac.
  13. Cool man. If it had been one continuous shot too, I'd have soiled myself.
  14. Ooooohhh this interesting. How is app support in the beta? Running smoothly? Anything else I should know before diving in?
  15. Nice one. Do you have to pay right now, or sometime vaguely close to the shipping date?
  16. Nice change for us Sony fans that a new rig will be very well priced. I'd have probably gone PS4 anyway to continue my purge of Microsoft products. Not arsed about my console adding a layer of @*!# to my TV or monitoring my bodily movement or responding to my voice, my thumbs are still working. Shame PSN won't be free, but I guess it was inevitable. I've never been a Day 1 adopter before, coud well change this year.
  17. I quite like the new look, hope the responsiveness is retained with the new wizzyness, a battery life boost now seems unlikely!
  18. I know what you mean about it being the same for ages (iOS), but it works really well! There's no need for change for change sake, but I'd like some new stuff. I believe Ive is now the GUI man so I'd expect a pretty new look all round and no more leather bound journals or notes that look like legal pads, calendar etc (amongst other things). Couldn't be bothered to change eco systems now anyway unless some incredibly futuristic new thing came along!
  19. Interested to see if they give the MacPro a look in, it's due a refresh. I know it's developer conf not hardware, but here's hoping. Always keen to hear what's coming on desktop too, I'm pretty pleased with Mountain Lion so hopefully the next refresh will be enhancements rather than just updates.
  20. Anyone know how I can un-see that image?
  21. Gave her a little clean, well pleased with the results.
