Very good condition. Some of them have minimal kerbing but still look good. Includes tyres which are Bridgestone Potenza and Michelin Pilot Sport, which have about 4mm to 5mm tread. The tyres are worth a fair bit alone! The tyre sizes are the optimal sizes 225/45/18 on the front and 245/45/18 on the back. £450 Priced to sell so no offers please. Can be picked up from Slough or you can arrange a courier to collect if you want. I thik they can be sent by courier for around £30 or so. Thanks.

  3. I'm interested in this - not sure which one I need - I have a 2004 import model. Would I need the DE version?
  4. Still available. I'll cover the cost of postage and arrange a courier to deliver if the location isn't convenient.

  6. Insurance companies might have you believe that second car is another car that needs covering for theft etc. but in my case first car (350z) is worth 5500 and second car would only be valued at around 1k - total value would be 6.5k. If i were to declare my Z as having 6.5k value then my insurance might go up another £50 perhaps (or maybe slightly more) so why should adding the mr2 cost another 400 or more? Like techinstaller said above, there are trade policies that cover you to drive any car under your custody, there should be similar products available for the general folk.
  7. Now that's a result! I'm guessing it was a UK car? I didn't get any decent quotes from either of those companies when I was looking.
  8. I have a question that I can't get my head around. I must be missing something so thought I'd ask on here. I have a 350z which is 280-odd bhp that I have insured. So I've got my policy that I've paid for which basically says that the insurance company is happy for me to drive a 280bhp motor up to 5,000 miles a year and hopefully not make any claims in that time. I understand that they have a database of numbers and algorithms to work out risk and then price that risk (with a premium on top for their profit) and I'm fine with that. I work with databases myself so I have a good grasp of how this part of it works. But suppose I want to insure my MR2 Roadster now. I have the choice of taking out a new policy with no claims starting from zero (I currently have 6 years) or if they offer it, I can go for mirror policy so I get a separate policy which takes my existing no claims into account, but I need to pay pretty much the usual insurance price for this, as if i were taking it out as my only car. My question is this: If my insurance company is happy enough for me to drive a 280bhp car, then why would I have to pay extra to cover my 140bhp MR2? If anything, my insurance policy should go down, because I'm now sharing my regular driving between two cars, sometimes driving the lesser powered one of them (rather than drive the 350z everywhere). Because you can only ever drive one car at one time, you can't drive both simultaneously. Not a rant, just wanted some insight into what raises the risk profile of a person with two cars that warrants having to pay more for the second (lesser power) car. Are there policies available that allow you to drive any car up to a certain insurance group?
  9. If that's the case then I'm cool with that. Will post an update on the system when I receive it in a few days time hopefully.
  10. I've got a Galaxy Note 2 aswell and looked into this unit but it probably promises more than it delivers. The main thing i was looking out for was bluetooth streaming - because if you get a good car phone holder, then you have all sound output to car system with the visuals left to the Note 2 phone. That way you can use the Note as: Satnav (I think Co-Pilot is around £30, but I haven't looked into it yet) Media player - store vids on your phone, everything is digital nowadays and you'll have lots of media on the Note 2 anyway Music player - pick the app that you like best, and use that on yor phone rather than be limited by ICE manufacturers design Make calls etc as usual Anything else really! I was considering an android based head unit, but the cheapest one I could find was a cheap chinese one and tbh I don't really trust the quality of them (I got one in my car right now that has lots of faetures that look good on paper but it performs badly). Even that is £300, which i find surprising coz you could just buy a £100 unit and a Nexus 7 for £130 and you'd get the same thing. I was considering this too (simple system + Nexus 7) but it would only be worth it if it was professionally set up with no wires hanging out and integrated into the dash, etc. Cost of installation would be too much (if even possible!). So in the end I just decided on a semi-decent system with bluetooth streaming. Was going to go for a Halfords one for around £150 but went for a Clarion VX402E which I found online for £255 (usual going price of around £350) but only coz I can't resist a good bargain when I see one! Check my other post for more details of that. Going to hook my phone up to it and use my phone for controls, and leave only sound output to the system.
  11. I've just bought the Clarion VX402E for £255 on Amazon (via an Amazon seller). Every other place I've seen online sells the unit for £350. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Clarion-Multimedia-Station-Resolution-Display/dp/B007L3I59C Halfords sells it for £360 (I know they're not a good indicator of price). Seems good from the specs, and it's double din so would fit in the 350z without any issues hopefully. After scouring the net for car audio, realised that there aren't many bargains out there, everything is pretty much a set price..............but this stood out coz the one seller is selling for £100 cheaper than every other place. Just wondering if it's too good to be true? Could be a european version I guess, that could explain it. Well I'll find out in a few days time and report back on it.
  12. I've recently moved to Cardiff so don't know of any mechanics or tuners here or even the surrounding areas. Any locals who can recommend a place that knows 350z's?
  13. I'm sure that the police could get fingerprints or other identifying things from the abandoned car to find out who did it. Most likely, it would be someone who's been in trouble with the police before so they should have fingerprints on file. But I guess that doesn't really help you with your situation. Hope you get it sorted mate.
  14. Sorry, I really feel for you. Don't know why these guys do it. There should be harsher sentences for people that do this kind of thing. Maybe getting their faces keyed!
  15. I think she must have mixed up her words and meant to say that she got a quote for 8k for the Astra. If it was a Ferrari or any other supercar and she was a celeb, then yeah I can imagine her paying 8k for insurance coz those types would pay anything as money isn't so much of an issue as style and status etc. But for an average joe to fork out 8k for an Astra, I can't believe that anyone would want to drive an Astra THAT bad that they couldn't just switch to a corsa and pay a fraction of the price.
