  1. Interesting that you got good cleaning at 4%. This foam and I may yet get on.
  2. Nice even handed write up, hard to imagine I wouldn't get ridiculously carried away having a shot in one. Sounds like all kinds of fun. CC is surely a must? It's hard enough keeping the Zed speed legal with it's lazy power.
  3. Nice work, the final rain snap especially. Seat looks sweet too. Not a Zed obviously, but it goes to show that looking after your paint on any motor can make it look a bit special.
  4. Some really nice mods going on here, like the plastidip work and the touch up of the cubby button. Oh and the enourmous twiglet you recieved in the post
  5. I remember Oslo being pretty quiet but I'm sure it was more built up than this? Camera on the later model iphones is really impressive for on the fly photograhy.
  6. Let us know how it goes, always looking for something new.
  7. I've been using Valet Pro Advanced Neutral Snow Foam for a while now (largely because I bought 5 litres of the stuff ) and it seems to do a nice job of making a foam and removing some, but not all, of the soilage I get - mainly bird sh*t round here on the coast and brake dust. I saw a fairly impressive youtube vid of the 50cal Ambush Super Foam the other day, so I thought I'd order a bottle and see what it's like. Anyway, here's what THEY say... "It has a built in wax and dewatering aid to further help the rinsing of the product from the vehicle. It works extremely efficiently on the removal of break dust and road film on wheels thus potentially rendering the need to use a secondary alloy wheel cleaner unnecessary. We recommend using a starting dilution of 2-3 inches into a 1lt wash bottle, topped up with ideally deionised water that’s attached to the foaming lance. The air intake and pressure should be set to the maximum settings available. The product is also enhanced with a rich Bubblegum smell and for the real enthusiasts, we will be offering options to have the foam coloured, in due course." http://www.50caldeta...uperfoam/4mbu5h At £15 for half a litre it doesn't compare favourably on price to Valet Pro at twice the price for 10 times the amount. I used it at about 20% dilution, which is the upper end of their 10-20 recommendation - with waxes and stuff I think less is more, but with foam and shampoos I tend to think more is more! This consumed a fairly sizeable amount of the bottle Ordinariliy I'd also chuck an inch of some Megs Hyperwash in the lance as well, but for a change I did what I was told - almost - I used tap water rather than de-ionised. Enough chat, here's some pics. I arranged for an open minded local bird to do a rather watery "deposit" on the car for me in the week. And a legion of crack suicide bugs happily decorated my front end too. The foam itself goes on nice and thick The bottle says it can be left for up to 30 mins to dwell. I don't know what kind of conditions it has to be outside for that to occur, but for me, it's simply unbelievable. This is after 5 minutes. The paint was bone dry before application. It wouldn't have made it to my usual 10 minutes dwell, as the weather today was simply too warm, I could see streaks thinking about forming after about 7 minutes, so I gave the whole car a light spritz of water just to keep the surface wet. I must add that it was too warm for this today, but I only had today to wash her, so tough So after a pressure wash at a reasonable distance, not one inch from the paint or anything crazy. The bird's deposit was no more. And the bugs were yesterday's news. Obviously I've processed the plate images to remove my numbers, but I promise I didn't use iPhoto to remove the bugs - the foam did that. Jerry's Final Thought I like how thick this stuff goes on, it's almost a shaving foam special. I like how much grime it shifted after a short dwell. I noticed that the wheels (door forgot pics) were nicely softened up by it and the brake dust came off nice n easy with a pressure wash pass (closer than I would go on paint though). They are sealed with Rim Wax, so they're pretty easy to clean normally. I liked the smell not sure about it being bubble gum as claimed, smelt more like menthol - it's not a product that smells so good you want to drink/eat it I also liked that it seemed to leave the previous layers of protection on, judging from the water behaviour during the two bucket wash I went on to do. I didn't like the price, bearing in mind the quantity and suggested dilution. I'm going to use half as much next time and see if the foam is still decent and the clean too. If it is, then it may become my foam of choice. Couple of whoring pics at the end, just cos I'm like that. Just the foam, TBW with AMMO foam paint cleanser and then a Red Mist QD. Regular maintenance job.
  8. Some of the subjects and topics I studied in education seemed, on the face of it, pointless. Differentiation being a particularly sore point for me (I still don't get it ). However, I do believe though that it's not always the subject matter that's important. Analysing stuff like Shakespeare or Dickens or some event in history can be tedious, because of this it was years after school before I got interested in subjects I now like (such as learning a foreign language - hated French, love Spanish). However, what I see now is those boring lessons gave me the tools to analyse and reflect on what was both being said overtly and also what was being implied. I personally didn't realise this until much time had passed since finishing school. Of course, not everyone thrives in class, nor should they. It doesn't make you thick or worth less than someone else, I watch in awe as my tech works on my Zed, doing little jobs in second gear where I'd be sweating cobs in shear terror . I'm more suited to operating a spreadsheet than a spanner. One isn't better than the other, it's just different. All that said, I think actively discouraging people from gathering some education is irresponsible. For example: if you're one of the people cut out to be a entrepreneur, then how does having an education PREVENT you from becoming an entrepreneur?
  9. I want to settle down with it and have baby Nismos. Until just now, I've always been a, "don't understand buying a brand new car, instant depreciation when you drive off, etc etc" if this comes with a sensible monthly payment, I may just break my own rules.
  10. Democracy in action The forum should run the country...
  11. I have been thinking about taking the rear wiper off! Not to save weight but I think it looks funny with a wiper at the rear Do it for the aero gains! Must be worth 5mpg too
  12. Nice write up. I really enjoyed the water behaviour of the AF Desire. I can't believe I just wrote I enjoyed water behaviour. I received some 50cal snow foam this week, looking forward to using this weekend, a few of their products in the waxyboxes have been decent.
  13. Up front pricing is nice and easy for everyone and most importantly transparent. However, I think the mods having discretion is essential, there's a big difference between a For Sale post not being approved because it's stoking a bidding war, and one being approved with a nudge for a PROMPT price to go up.
  14. Get that boot weight out. Helps with boot pop and gives your boot struts a hand. Whilst you're there, the rear wiper doesn't do much except add weight and spoil her beautiful lines It's so easy even I could do it! http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/71353-how-to-wiper-removal-delete/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/79964-rear-window-wiper-delete-guide/ Buy the grommets first if you don't like it wet.
  15. HFCs FTW with scorpion, sounds great, bit of rasp and a bit of throat, no drone. Short vid below, not full beans as it was cold.
  16. There's only a certain type of guy who can pull off the look in that photo Dan, I wouldn't let it bother you, shows your totally comfortable with yourself. Chicks love that.
  17. How do you screw the stubby in to the phone? Is there a guide on here
  18. The tactus looks impressive, I googled around and they do a version with a rotating stand, which looks ace. Thanks. Also saw this: http://clamcase.com/ipad-air-keyboard-case.html Makes it go all MacBook Air looking!
  19. I had a '98 Clio 1.2 - totally stock except I fitted a CD player instead of a tape deck The sunroof jammed shut, the interior door handle snapped off, the cambelt went whilst I was making progress in the outside lane of the motorway and lunched the engine, the ABS went nuts, a thief punched a hole in the passenger door with a screwdriver and stole precisely nothing, I pranged a kerb so hard that it bent the rim about 2 inches out, drunks put a foot long crack in the windscreen, and then a week before I was due to flog it for a grand towards going traveling, the gearbox jammed in second and I got £50 off a scrappy for it. I won't be going back to French autos anytime soon Prior to me having it, and that lot, the most remarkable thing happened to it. The front wing was ripped off by a big cat during the night. No really! My folks woke up in the morning and went to take it out and the wing was mangled and hanging off, there was a huge paw print on the bonnet and what can only be described as deep gouges all over. Before you say it was just nobheads who happened to have a paw print maker handy, my folks lived in a ridiculously out of the way place about two miles down a dirt track from the nearest road, which itself was a back of beyond B road. No one ever walked past. It's a crazy world.
  20. Interesting. I tried the Smart Cover on my previous iPad but didn't really get on with it. I'll have another look. It's for work so the cost isn't an issue, within reason.
  21. Looks sweet, well worth the outlay so long as you keep it nice.
  22. I'm after a case for an iPad Air and would love to hear from owners please. It must: Cover front and rear Be thin and light Expose all plug holes Have a couple of viewing angles in landscape mode, not just one fixed one. If you've got a case with integrated BlueTooth keyboard then I'd be especially appreciative of comments. Thanks!
  23. If it's for sharing on youtube I'm sure they compress what you upload anyway. IMHO I wouldn't think it's worth the leap from what you've already got until 4k is an option at similar money. Everything will go 4k, so if you can get that at a decent frame rate, then at least your covered off for a few years.
  24. Interesting solution, but aren't they sealed for a reason? I understand that in some cars they fit a small tube into a hole, similar to the one you've drilled, and attach it to a sealed container full of silica gel. This soaks up moisture and all you need to do is replace the silica gel in the container every now and again, struck me as a nice bit of lateral thinking.
