  6. HAMILTON BACK TO McLAREN FOR 2015. Lewis Hamilton has signed a contract for next season to return to his old team McLaren and spear head their new era with old partners Honda. The Brit has been battling all season long with team-mate Nico Rosberg for this years World title and only one of them can win it. As it currently stands, Hamilton is first with a ten point lead over Rosberg in the championship standings. The pair have had a season of tension between them, with Belgium hitting the peak when Rosberg gave Hamilton a puncture after the pair clash on the second lap, which caused the Brit to retire later on in the race. Hamilton then claimed Rosberg admitted to doing it on purpose to prove a point, in which Nico denied the allegations. Questions and rumours have been flying around the paddock all season about the Mercedes duo and in the latter part, the driver market. Hamilton visited the Woking base three weeks ago to sign for the team starting from next season. The source said: "Lewis was in the Woking factory three weeks ago. He arrived by helicopter, had a conversation about two hours with the management and then left with a big smile on his face. He signed here, I can assure you. A seat fitting has not happened yet, but that will take place in the foreseeable future."

  8. To make it mandatory that service and recovery vehicles are ONLY allowed on a live-track during a safety car period or during a race stoppage On Sunday 5 October an unfortunate and horrific accident involving Jules Bianchi occurred during the closing stages of the 2014 Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix. The accident began on lap 42. Adrian Sutil lost control of his car, spun and hit the tyre barrier on the outside of Turn 7. The marshals displayed double waved yellow flags before the corner to warn drivers of the incident. A recovery vehicle was despatched in order to lift the car and take it to a place of safety behind the guardrail. While this was being done the driver of car 17, Jules Bianchi, lost control of his car, travelled across the run-off area and hit the back of the tractor. This was an accident that need not have happened and could have easily been avoided, if the officials had waited for the Safety Car to be deployed before allowing the service vehicle onto the circuit (to recover the stricken car of Adrian Sutil). A similar incident involving Martin Brundle took place twenty years ago during the 1994 Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix. Why hasn’t anyone at the FIA learned that lightning can (and does) strike twice… While the motor sport community understands the dangers involved with such events this collision could have totally been avoided. FIA (World Motor Sport’s Governing Body) must not be allowed to place another racing driver at such risk again, whatever type of motor sport the driver’s are competing in. It needs to make one rule for all motor sport events governed by the FIA to adhere to: “service and recovery vehicles are ONLY allowed on a live-track during a safety car period or during a race stoppage†It is a simple rule and one that needs to be actioned immediately to protect not only the racing drivers and but also the marshals. Stay Strong Jules. To. Jean Todt, Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) To make it mandatory that service and recovery vehicles are ONLY allowed on a live-track during a safety car period or during a race stoppage Sincerely, [Your name]
