  1. £80,000 Range Rover gets wedged after skidding off road Here's one off-road challenge that proved too much for a brand new £80,000 Range Rover. The luxury 4x4 - with less than 500 miles on the clock - was written off when it left the road and became wedged on its side between a wall and a basement. Incredibly, witnesses said the driver and three female passengers escaped unscathed from the crash near Oxford Street in central London. The Range Rover Sport left the road and smashed through metal railings before becoming stuck at the bottom of a 14-foot drop. The car was eventually pulled out a few hours later. But the roof was wrecked and the car appeared to be destined for the scrap yard. I noticed the railing was smashed and there were some skid marks on the pavement, so I went over for a look. I couldn't believe it when I saw this posh car stuck at the bottom. That would either take a lot of skill or bad luck to land a huge car down there. I spoke to one of the neighbours who said the car had four girls in it and they were all right, which in itself is a miracle. I've never seen anything like that before. Wow. One side was completely crumpled. Someone told me there were four people in it, who weren't hurt. They're so lucky to be alive - I suppose it just goes to show how tough those vehicles are. I don't think they're designed for that type of off-roading though. The Metropolitan Police said the incident was not a police matter and they would not be investigating. :scare:

  11. It's all about attitude and common sense. If you do track days with other more expensive cars then they're far more worried about you, so tend to stay away a bit more Cheapy days full of numpties with crappy cars is a recipe for disaster. Used to work at Brands in a previous lifetime, seen it all before. Including a builders van which rolled at Druids and covered the circuit in thousands of nails, a large magnet suspended on a tractor spend a day picking them up..!!
  12. Couple of cans of this and then rapidly trade it...!! http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1436.l2649

  21. Just got this in may be a worry. 'Cooling' will be the buzzword in Malaysia, according to Mercedes. The German marque dominated in Melbourne, but Sepang is always among the very hottest destinations on the F1 calendar -- and the new 'power unit' rules for 2014 are posing much greater cooling problems for the teams. "New GP, new problems," Mercedes chairman Niki Lauda told Osterreich newspaper. He also told German broadcaster RTL: "Malaysia will be more difficult (than Melbourne). "In Sepang actually we are starting from scratch because of the high humidity and temperature -- I doubt it will be below 35C. "In such circumstances, effective cooling of the power unit would indeed be a problem. We will have to make changes to the car to resolve the issue." Lauda's Mercedes colleague Toto Wolff agrees: "I think all the teams are seeking to create the most efficient cooling system. "Every test or race weekend has been more difficult than we expected, so it will be difficult to cope with the heat in Malaysia," he admitted.
