  1. Goodwood of the North- I'd hesitate to say the 'poor man's' as Cheshire money is in full abundance. I asked the guy selling his 2nd hand helicopter there in 2012 and he didn't blink when he asked me for £2m. I'd have had it if it had been £1.75m and Wonga had said 'yes' Same problem as others though in how to get my two lads there in the Z.
  2. Thanks for all the replies- my Z is purely a toy and I probably run 70% track day to 30% road and most of that is getting to the venue. I am planning a Nurburgring trip this year but will have to find a way of fitting 4 track wheels into the Z (or hopefully convince a estate car owning conspirator to run as support vehicle- paying their fuel would be cheaper than running on 888s) and use the current Potenzas for the run through Belgium. I think that the 888s will get the nod- and I may even invest in a trailer!
  3. I'm upgrading the boots for the upcoming track day season and have always used current 'road' tyres. I now want to kit out the Z with some proper trackday tyres and I'm trying to choose between the three main contenders. Toyo R888 Michelin Pilot Super Sports Yokohama Advan Neovo AD08R The R888s only come in 40 profile rather than the standard 45 which equates to a 25mm reduction in OD. Would increasing the rims to 19" be the best option (only 1mm difference then)?- edit-Ignore this option as the r888 doesn't come in a 40 profile 19" Does anyone have ay experience / comments on the three types? Hard and fast knowledge beats the marketing hype hands down every time.
  4. Were you near Corley Services last Thurs on the M6 southbound?
  5. I despair for the lack of awareness that the average UK driver shows. I love driving in Germany where drivers use their mirrors and keep a check on who's around them- no speed limits in some areas help. The UK is nannyed into everyone thinking that they're safe when they're not.
  6. Nice car and cool photo (HDR?) of the SX
  7. Should have no prob changing the wheel size if you want to plenty come up for sale on here
  8. Try Mercedes benz world, I used to work there as a track host, if you have a race license you can work on the track as a "driving specialist" to make some money and get some track instructing under your belt. You don't need to have an instructing license just experience with cars and track driving I think I'll sign up for an ARDS test in Spring on this basis.
  9. Think that this is spot on- nice work
  10. Blanked by a 350 (black with big wing- import square plates) in Warrington yesterday- technically Cheshire but not sure if Warringtonians abide by Cheshire traits. (still Lancashire to me!)
  11. Hermann. Herzlich Willkommen und Sie sind ein Held! Damage to your car at Dijon looks light for the way you described the crash which shows how robust the Z actually is. Good to see a 350 and 'ring fan on the forum. I rented a 350 from Sixt in 2003 and took it around the Nordschleife in the wet and was so impressed that I've eventually bought one. (We won't mention the rental BMW that I overtook Sabine in- she knew the conditions better than me hence my forum name- the BMW looked similar to your 350 after Dijon and the Armco at Bergwerk is very strong!!!!) I met a racer with a race prepared SC 350 and when I asked him for advice he said buy an Exige the 350 is too heavy , so i'm impressed with your commitment to the Z.
  12. Japanese= bullet proof engines (I have a bill for over £3500 for my teutonic oil burner). Have an 04 and can't fault the reliability whatsoever. The extra 20hp on the later ones will win the bar stool competition but in the real world it's how you pedal it. Whatever you go for you won't be disappointed. .............and welcome
  13. I got 11mpg in my 350 last time out- but that was a track day. I have seen 9mpg . I own an oil burner for mpg and fall asleep thinking about driving it. Ignore the mpg the EP3 is a cracking car but feels nippy rather than out and out fast. The 350 feels long and dare I say it slightly lazy but the exhaust note has attracted comments (positively) from all my Porker owning friends. Think of it as 80% of a 911 for 40% of the price.
  14. Wow- a car then an aircraft then a submarine- versatile vehicles those Porkers. Seriously though hope the guys got away both physically and mentally as it can't be nice being upside down in water with a six point harness to undo.
  15. Looking at Oulton for the 16th Nov- cracking circuit- will let you know when booked
  16. 2 GM JDM 350zs and 1 Sunset UK in the space of 10 mins at the Trafford Centre last Sat. 2 GMs parked on the Aerial Extreme side
