  1. Booked it with Javelin Trackdays- hoping to do Silverstone and possibly Cadwell (more of a bike circuit but i like the elevation changes) as well. Oulton is my local track and the Intnl circuit is superb. Played there a few years back in a Lotus Elise and scared the Lotus instructor due to my lines and kamikaze braking off line Can't wait for the Spring!
  2. Alezan looks the part- fits with the Sunset Orange brilliantly and the leather is top quality. Might be biased as I think i have some Dutch ancestry way back in the past! Agree on the state of the gear knobs though
  3. The growl from the pipes is sweeeeet. (daily drive is a 520d so the noise gets me everytime) Plus of my 4 petrolheaded mates 3 of them have 911s so my Z has the 'Exclusive' tag
  4. Just booked my newly acquired Z in for March 2nd at Oulton Park- long time off yet but that will give me chance to fettle the bits that need doing- interesting to hear the pad wear from CrumbMC. Thanks for the vids trackpig- they give me a good idea what to expect. It's my first UK trackday so any pointers as to what to expect from the Z will be soaked up like a sponge.
  5. Purchased an 04 reg 350Z yesterday to use as a track day tool. I first drove one in Aug 2004 when I rented one in Germany (jpg below)- they didn't have them in the inventory for very long- and my first impressions were superb. Even to this day I think it was one of the best handling cars that i've ever driven on a certain mid German derestricted toll road (and that includes a 911 GT3- but maybe I'm not good enough to wring out all of the potential of that car) It made such an impression that I've finally got round to buying my own. Plan is to do several track days next year- car is completely standard at the moment and I'd like to give it a few track runs before I look at changing things. I love the engine growl and I'm proud to ignore any badge snobbery (as my other option was one of Stuttgart's finest and I chose the Z as the better value) I'm looking forward to the spring already.
  6. In 2004 Sixt rented out 350Z from Cologne for approx £50 per day- it was too good a bargain to pass up and that was the first time I'd driven a Z. The run south from Cologne on the Autobahn allowed me to run a Vmax legally when the road was clear enough My GPS maximum speed showed 157mph and the limiter kept cutting in- can't remember what the speedo indicated as it was in Kph and I was concentrating on the road The car felt like it had another few percent to give so a high 160mph seems realistic. It's taken a while but i've just purchased my own 350Z as my mate in his 911 (996) needed putting straight on what car value for money really is.
