  1. Oh on the weekend I bought a tube of G3 scratch remover & the waffle pads from Halfords.... Did it by hand in less than 5 mins, and had a go at some various scratches on the car, works surprisingly well imho.
  2. Many thanks guys, I was trying to do the rear disks\pads last Sunday but one of the calliper bolts started to round, so I stopped packed up, and ordered new bolts (managed to do the fronts though, although snapped one bracket bolt). I'm more than happy to do stuff myself but having not tried bleeding brakes\clutch before, I'd rather hand it over
  3. Very true, although I don't want to waste anyone's time
  4. These guys usually work pretty quickly but I've been quoted 5 hours, which sounds a bit too long imho. I don't want to bitch about it, as I'll pay whatever it is - I just don't think it can take that amount of time.
  5. By a garage, not myself (it'll take yonks!), I didn't think it would take that long but perhaps the clutch line takes a while ? Fit rear brake discs & pads Fit new brake lines Fit new clutch line Change brake fluid Change clutch fluid Tighten auxiliary belts
  6. My dipped beam, D2R bulbs are shockingly bad, even after adjusting the throw. Any recommended bulbs to go for ?
  7. rofl - I wasn't expecting anything genuinely funny, how wrong was I This one (no idea how/why I stumbled across it) is fairly odd as well:
  8. Ah, the reset procedure from the video worked for me, many thanks!
  9. You can do either, just obviously more hard work by hand. I'd recommend using one of those little applicator pads if by hand, then MF cloth to buff it up.
  10. I'll give all of the above a go shortly, otherwise let's see if Kwikfit can do it (actually, my local place is fantastic, great guys !)
  11. Ah if you saw what I typed up, I wanted a new set as I don't know if someone picked up the old key. So I have another set, can't get the nut out of the 'removal socket' thing I bought, heh (mole grips didn't work, no vice here either, and tried using the other removal socket on the end but it won't thread on)
  12. Dopey returns pt2. Ok, so I grabbed the Laser locking wheel nut removal 'kit' - did the first one, it's off - but er - how in fooking crikey do I get it out of the removal socket ? Hmm, so if I re-tighten it back onto the wheel the removal socket comes off - but then obviously the locking nut is on properly again - ffs, feeling like a true special needs case today.
  13. I'm going to have to try my scanner tonight. I did the ignition 3x thing after looking underneath each of the seats. Nothing was out of place nor rolling around - so I can't quite figure out what's wrong. The only thing I noticed was at the front of the passenger seat, there was a connector with nothing plugged into it, however I can't see another cable flapping about. Ah I just noticed in the video it's 4x and timing was different to me, going to try that in a moment !
  14. Yep, I've used toothpaste as well, it does a pretty good job (stinks though!). But I just use the rotary polisher and any polish pretty much will do.
  15. Ah many thanks for the replies, it's much appreciated ! I think all that happened is, I picked up my tools and it probably just fell off the end of the breaker bar without me realising it (I gave up on the job, bolts rounding, shearing etc). I was on our property the whole time but I have a feeling it's either rolled out of sight, or someone has picked it up. If someone has picked it up, perhaps getting new ones make more sense (I know they aren't exactly secure anyway). I'm expecting tyres today, and they have to be changed ASAP. I'm going to put some bright tape around the new key I think. DOH.
  16. Cheers, how long did you have to wait for it ?
  17. I've no flipping idea how but I've managed to loose the bloody key after using it yesterday (just gonna look through tools again to make sure). So I was thinking either purchase Laser kit from halfords ( http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_196491_langId_-1_categoryId_255216 ) & buy a new set - if so, any recommendations, what size ? Or, is it worth taking it up to Nissan to order a new key ? (I can only presume it's standard locking nuts on the Rays). What a dopey sod.
  18. I highly recommend Kev at Wheel Medic - He nipped over on Sunday morning to sort out my damaged wheel, great guy and really know's what he's doing ! http://wheelmedic.biz
  19. Many thanks again Ewen, my brake lines and clutch line arrived today Thanks for help and super dooper quick replies !
  20. Heh, my one went all flashy this morning as well. However I think I just snagged a cable on the passenger side seat.
  21. I usually don't have these kinds of problems but Nissan seem to use terrible quality bolts imho (well for longevity). So I end up replacing them as I go.
  22. Hey guys - well, I have that very bar actually (managed to break one before but they did replace it!) - there wasn't the room to really use it imho. In short - the bottom bolt has started rounding - I stopped, put it all back together and will take it to my local guys now (I was taking it to them anyway for the lines/fluid change). Now I need to get some bolts because I think I'd rather some fresh ones in there, plus I snapped one of the front bolts holding the line bracket. ZMANALEX still here ?
  23. Argh, another day - more hail & fail as I'm trying to do the rear discs pads today. Yesterday was a total git, didn't have a 22mm socket - and the inner pads wouldn't come out, nor new ones go in - many hours and swearing persisted Anyway, today I'm trying to do the rear and now it's a 19mm bolt (ffs why cant it be the same!), and the upper one I can access with a ratchet but the lower bolt I think I need a spanner, and of course I don't have a 19mm one - so off to halfords. I've tried to undo the top calliper bolt but it's not budging at all - any tips ? And I presume with the lower one, a spanner will do ?
  24. Doesn't sounds quite right to me if you still drive the same as before. I get around 27mpg (was 28 before nismo spoiler). Worth getting a can of Wynns injector cleaner, spray some through, or get a bottle of stuff to add to the tank that cleans them as well. That usually helps me when they've not been done for a while. Also check tyre pressures are correct. + remap if not done.
  25. 2 new front MPSS' - (ok I didn't technically fit them) New front discs & pads (just bedded in - back is broken after tarting around all day with it). tomorrow - rear pads/disc during week - rear MPSS' & brake lines & clutch line. oh, and MOT/Tax
