  1. Did you mean twobears? I'm not sure she'd be that willing to help
  2. Mm, yes, that looks like a very nice car. I still like my first choice though and the lights were one of the things that drew me across the busy showground to look at it. Maybe it's a girl thing? I think they are very feminine looking lights.
  3. Maybe I should try to get a job at a car dealership?? Mr TwoBears has suggested this in the past and maybe he was onto something?
  4. We'd better agree to disagree on that one Or maybe I'm an entomologist?
  5. Thanks for all the explanations Ekona, I like the headlights and you'd have to be pretty dumb not to notice them if you were buying the car!!
  6. I've just been looking on AutoTrader at the 4Cs and I was really surprised to see some for sale already. I can understand the ones that the dealers are selling 'as new' with a couple of hundred miles on the clock but there was one with 750 miles and one with nearly 2,500. Do you think the new owners didn't like them or are they just making a profit because the cars are hard to get? I really want to test drive one at a dealers but Mr TwoBears thinks it is a bad idea because I might get carried away
  7. Yay! Well done It's a great feeling when the young 'uns pass first time. My daughter did when she was 17 (following in Mum's footsteps ) and I was really proud. She's coming up to 21 in October and I can't believe my generosity because I've just bought her a brand new Fiesta. Can I have the Mother of the Year 2014 award please?
  8. Thanks stu I'm usually good at keeping it updated but have just done the latest one tonight (after the screen freeze). It's the 5s in gold (if that makes a difference, I suspect not ) and Mr Twobears bought it for me when he came over to the UK in May. Will try all the suggested fixes now
  9. Thank you. I will try that now and see if it cures the problem
  10. Finally, my father asked when I was selling the Zed. Apparently, now I have a Fiesta I don't need a 'silly car'. I love my Dad but he does try my patience sometimes. The most ridiculous thing is that he has always loved cars and I got dragged to watch various types of motor racing all through my childhood, whether I wanted to go or not, but he can't seem to fathom just how happy driving my 'silly car' makes me
  11. Thanks, I really can't manage without it so I will try to be assertive
  12. I was also asked if I was going caravanning with the car club the year that I came to the Wales meet...
  13. "Can I drive it"? Asked by my 18 year old (at the time) daughter. Er, no
  14. The screen on my iPhone5s has just frozen for the third time in the last few weeks. Is this a known problem? I've never taken a phone back to the shop so I'm not sure what to expect? Do they take the phone off you so you are without one for weeks? I couldn't bear to be without it I don't think.
  15. If we are on the subject of guns please can I ask a question? I got out my air rifle ages ago to try and shoot rats but I had a surprise when I pulled the trigger and nothing happened. I know nothing about guns so I kind of shook it a little bit and the pellet fell out. I changed the gas canister but still nothing happened other than all the gas escaping, minus the pellet. I know I need to get it looked at but does anyone know what I have done to it to make it stop working? The rats were pleased initially by the way, but they probably didn't like it when the rat man came round later that week
  16. Yes, I agree that some people drive like this regardless but, truly, when I drive my Zed I get far more of this sort of dangerous driving in my vicinity. I'm old enough to have driven dozens and dozens of different cars and the Zed definitely does polarise the behaviour of other drivers. Currently I am also driving a brand new Fiesta and I feel invisible in that because it is so anonymous. People drive how they always drive, some good, some bad. But once I get into the Zed, and particularly when I have the roof down, I get met with smiles and waves from a lot of men (it is always men) and they treat me very courteously, allowing me to pull out of junctions etc OR I get the exact opposite and am met with a very aggressive type of driving, almost as if the driver wants to prove something to me. I am no angel so I do get annoyed by dangerous tailgating and it gives me pleasure to pull away quickly when the road opens out. I imagine the man (and again, I'm sorry but it has always been a man so far) nursing his impotent fury as I become an azure blur in the distance.
  17. Love it If you do decide to go up and get rid of those weeds before you do your next graffito, can you grab me one of those log-filled gabion baskets please? Just the thing for my log burner this winter
  18. The trouble is I feel vulnerable sometimes, especially with the roof down when people are trying to intimidate me I actually want to speed off and leave them miles behind just to get rid of them. I don't, of course, but it feels tempting. Either that or have a rear machine gun fitted
  19. Ah I see, thanks Like I said, I don't normally feel the need to rant about anything but I just felt annoyed today because a minority of people seemed to want to take the pleasure out of driving for me. I love driving so I needed to understand their mind set in order to file them away in the box marked "Idiots - never to be brought to mind again". I feel much less stressed now I've written it down so it's worked
  20. Ricey, what's an IBTL? Have I said something stupid? Jimbo Mahoney, I was doing just over 30mph but, you're right, I didn't want to really exceed the speed limit even if someone was trying to force me to. If I were driving at 20 mph or something then Mr Twonk might have had a point but I really don't think he did have.
  21. Thanks Graham. I've always wondered if it is because I'm female but, having always been female , I've got nothing to compare it against. It seems totally pathetic if that really is the sole reason for a few men driving like idiots Real men don't need to prove anything and surely it doesn't take a genius to work out that you don't make yourself look big by driving so aggressively and badly?
