  1. Thanks Bronzee I don't really know what I was worried about. Fear of the unknown I suppose!
  2. No worries on the hijack front We had three blue cars until the Evoque went back. I did want the Fiesta ST2 and that was partly because of the fabulous purple blue colour. I am such a girl I know.
  3. I'm also waiting for the new iPhone to launch because I don't want to move from Apple. I've tried the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and hated it so it's now sitting in a drawer. Same with the Windows phone. That was even worse. Apple products just suit me and I like the styling and everything else about their products. Out here I'm missing my mac but it was a relief to leave my PC behind!
  4. Ah, I've not seen that episode. BMW looks smart on the outside but foot wells look a bit grubby! We had a BMW for a while but neither of us liked it so I think that's definitely off the list.
  5. That looks like a smart hotel and good location too Glad you enjoyed your holiday.
  6. Interesting car you've got there Andy I did wonder about a Golf because people seem to rate them. Never even been a passenger in one though so would need to have a drive in it first. The Civics look very nice and are definitely on my short list. I've thought some more about it now and think we might go for the PCP option because we do have a company car allowance. Just need to work out how much we want to spend and that's something no-one can tell me. I am such a bloody ditherer and Mr Twobears is leaving it up to me so I've got to come up with some sort of answer soon! I always buy blue cars, not red, ha ha.
  7. Ooh ar, ooh ar! I wished I'd packed my wellies when we first got here because we had a few showers and all the women donned shiny Hunter wellies just like the ones I normally live in a home. Amazingly they appear to be a fashion statement here. Not sure if I like that Subaru or not ...
  8. Hi Chris . My friend lives right next to the stadium and it's chaos on match days! Fortunately he's a big football fan. I'm not but I think it's really funny when they all gather round one of two fountains depending on who won! I think the big match is in Lisbon?
  9. I just want someone to give me a list I think. I seem to be having a failure of imagination. Too much choice isn't necessarily a good thing.
  10. Howdy doody to you too Will I don't mind him wandering all over the globe really Graham. I'm quite happy doing my own thing. I've joined a nice gym with a pool and the temperature is 29 degrees at the moment so what's not to like, ha ha
  11. Oops, sorry, I think I only want to spend up to 8K. There again I keep changing my mind on that as well. Sometimes I think I should spend more but then my inner Yorkshirewoman overrides that suggestion! I'm not looking for my dream car, obviously, and it has to be something that Mr Twobears won't mind driving either. He's more of a trundler than a speed fan and would ideally like a Defender. All his previous cars going back years have been some sort of Land Rover or Range Rover. I'm sure he will get another one in the fullness of time, in fact there's an old one parked on the drive at the moment, apparently, but for now we just need a car for short journeys, nothing too ugly or old mannish, not desperately underpowered and it doesn't have to be able to tow the horsebox. Hope that's enough info
  12. Hi everyone! Yes, still safely stowed away waiting for my return. I miss him but I've stopped having dreams about driving him now. Hope there aren't any psychologists on here to interpret that just in case it has some other subconscious meaning!
  13. Hello Humpy I'd wave back but I've only got my iPad here.
  14. I need a cheapish 'family' car for when we get back to the UK but I'm going round in circles trying to decide what to get. I don't want to spend a lot because I've got Mr Zedders for fun and I think I will use him for motorway driving (Surrey to Yorkshire) but I can't decide whether to get a smallish new car or a slightly older, and possibly larger(?) second-hand one. I can't test drive anything at the moment but will be back in the UK in a couple of months and I'd like to have a plan We've always had company cars as the main 'family' car and that was an easy choice because we just picked from a list. Buying your own car when the only real constraint is budget seems a lot harder. I also don't know if I would be better buying the car (if I go for a new one) or getting a PCP. I'm hopeless at maths and I can't figure out which is best. I need some sort of flow chart to help. I don't suppose there is such a thing?
  15. I'd never been to Spain before I moved here either I live in the poshest part of Madrid so I'm pretty sure it's nothing like Benidorm. I'd rather have my finger nails pulled out than go somewhere like that! I'm not a city person to be honest but it's a lot more relaxed here than London or Paris, for example, and there's a lovely big park at the end of my street and lots of pavement cafés etc.
  16. Sounds good Enjoy yourself mikeyazure and I will too, thanks 350zedd!
  17. I'm shocked and appauled! <<< Can you tell? Not as shocked as the chap who pinged into the sewer though, ha ha
  18. Yay, it's (or should that be its if I'm joining in properly?!) one of the infamous Zed forum grammar threads Today I 'as mainly been studying the pretérito indefinido and pretérito perfecto tenses. It's strangely enjoyable.
  19. Pointless post really but I just thought I'd say hola Somehow I seem to have ended up living in Madrid by myself whilst Mr Twobears jets around the world like some sort of international playboy (the last bit is in his dreams only!!). He's in the UK at the moment and then he's off to Bratislava, next stop Vienna and then Poland. On the plus side the weather is great, the shops are amazing and, with all this time on my hands, my Spanish is improving immensely. Viva españa and all that
  20. Yay, I can watch an English film the :)
  21. Thank you I've had another (good?) idea I think. Would it be possible to get the sound to come through the tv speakers if I buy the right cable?
  22. Thanks I might actually order it from Amazon if I can't find one in the local shops.
  23. Thank you I am so useless when it comes to technology that I didn't even realise you could get speakers without wires I will look for some tonight when I go shopping and tell daughter to do the same because she keeps letting her guinea pigs chew through the wires on everything we own!
