I don't normally rant but I have been driving a lot today and all day I seem to have got one of two polar opposite reactions to my presence on the road. The first group seem perfectly happy for me to be on the road and simply get on with their own journeys and, if appropriate, happily let me into queueing traffic with a friendly nod and a wave but the others, the idiots as I will politely term them, seem to view my presence as some sort of challenge. Why? I've just got back from what should have been a very pleasant drive but it was somewhat spoilt by Mr Twonk driving his FamilyMobile or whatever it was, who insisted on driving wedged up Mr Zedley's back bumper for several miles in a 30 mph zone and then, when we got to a dual carriageway, the fool thought he could overtake me. As if!!! So does anyone know what makes people do this because I genuinely don't understand their thought processes. I am always going to be able to out accelerate them so why do they try to flog their family wagons past me at the first opportunity they get, after sitting so close to my back bumper that I can count their fillings? They invariably end up pulling back in behind me and looking like an ar$e but what part of their brain leads them to believe that their car is suddenly going to find a huge surge of power which will leave me and Mr Zed in the dust? I should add that this 'phenomenon' seems to be 100% worse when I have the roof down Answers on a post card please

Wow, that's breathtaking

Thanks Ken, it's brilliant to be driving him again. My parking space at the new place is right outside my sitting room window and I must look out at him about 100 times a day, just to enjoy the view
-
Thanks for that incredibly useful tip

Hmm, that's one thing that really annoys me. I try not to look at it too often or I get stressed, ha ha

Oh yes, there was kind of a clue that you had a Jag. Must have missed that Wonder if the black Zed owner is a member on here? He didn't wave. Mind you I've only ever had one wave and I was thrilled. It doesn't take much does it?

That's exactly where it is It was on our way home and I'd just dropped Mr Twobears off at Walton McDonalds to get chocolate mocha frappés so we stopped to drink it in the car park. I am addicted to those things I saw a black Zed yesterday going towards Byfleet. Was it you?

Will, it feels brilliant to be driving him again. Going everywhere with a smile on my face at the moment Thanks Humpy. Getting him detailed soon. Can't wait Oi, Andy, I didn't have the handbrake on actually but I'm sure Tony would have stopped him if he'd started to roll forwards

Just been for a drink (non-alcoholic) and drive and stopped by the Thames to let Mr Zedley admire the view. There are some lovely places to drive in Surrey but I must have encountered about 500 speed bumps this evening alone. Oh, and you can really hear the parakeets with the roof down. I was bracing myself for something unexpected landing on my head but, fortunately, it didn't happen

I used to get views from some very strange countries sometimes but I didn't give it much thought. I think it must be normal

You come and wash the Jaaaaaaag here then I am trying to be on my best behaviour because this place is only a few minutes walk from Mr TwoBears' office and he's loving the commute. If I get us chucked out he will be most annoyed

Thanks Hadyn I think I've found someone who will do the detailing on his own premises. Only joking about the complex being "posh". It's very nice but I'm not on St George's Hill The man in charge of the residents' committee is a right old fusspot and lays down the law about everything you can imagine. I am not allowed to hang washing out, even in this beautiful weather and our landlord has had to carpet the entire ground floor apartment in case we make too much noise by walking on the parquet in our socks! If we started using snow foam I think the foam coming from his mouth would look very similar

I've not read all of this lengthy thread but I also see numerous cyclists ignoring red lights and I think that they are being reckless because drivers have right of way and yet the cyclists seem to think they are invincible, despite all evidence to the contrary. I don't think that cyclists (or horse riders) should not be on the roads but I do think that everyone, car drivers, cyclists, horse riders and pedestrians, should obey the rules of the road and keep both themselves and everyone else safe as a result. Unfortunately, horses can sometimes be spooked by cars coming dangerously close to them or cyclists giving no warning before swarming past and then all the poor rider can do is to try to get the horse back under control. It's not a great situation and can be very dangerous for horse, rider and, occasionally, driver or cyclist but most riders try to desensitise their animals and considerate overtaking helps an awful lot.

Mr Zed is finally with me in Surrey after being stored in a barn since Christmas whilst I was in Madrid and he looks as though he needs a bit of TLC. Does anyone know a good detailer in Surrey (I'm in Weybridge)? I don't know anything about detailing and have always just left the detailer to get on with it but I think he might need machine polishing because he has a couple of areas which look a bit dull, maybe where a bit of tarpaulin swished over him (?) and I also think that cats might have clambered over him sometimes I live in an apartment in a "posh" gated complex so I would need to take him to the detailer because I don't think the residents' committee would appreciate snow foam et al

No idea but I'm sure it's difficult judging by the name of the bits

Aha, so I'm not going mad. Thank goodness for that í ½í¸Š

If I said I was going to drive it every day I must have been having a senior moment! Can't do smileys on my phone, sorry.

I think it looks much nicer 'in person' for some reason. It looks odd from some angles in photos. I wasn't thinking of using it as a daily driver by the way, just for fun. I don't have a commute.
-
Aw, don't tell me that because it's sooooo pretty and I love it and, even more importantly, I just spoke to Mr Twobears on the phone and explained that I had to have it and he didn't say, "No" He did tell me I had to wait but at least he didn't close down Project 4C and crush all my dreams

That's what it looked like at today's show only the sales lady cleared a path so that I could get inside

Tree identified thanks - Now, how do we get it out ?

Was it just an Elder? That's what I thought it was too. I believe they are called bore trees in Yorkshire. I had some taken out of the fence line when I had the drainage pipes put in and it took me ages to work out what the contractor was talking about -
Ha ha, he wishes It's been a while since he had long hair

Oi you lot, that's my grand daughter not me as you know perfectly well
