  1. I need some speakers for my iPad again because the connector thingy broke on the last ones and then I started using my daughter's guitar amp which was brilliant but a bit heavy to bring over in the plane so now I need some more. Can anyone advise what make I should look for this time? I don't want to spend mega bucks but I would like a fairly nice sound.
  2. SMD, you've not changed, ha ha
  3. Thanks everyone for the nice welcome back It's a lovely sunny morning here but my Spanish teacher is due any minute so I'm sitting inside conjugating irregular verbs. Oh joy
  4. I will, Hugh, thanks Yay, thanks Andy. Glad it's not just me Colin. Had assumed it was my lack of technology related skills. GMb, you've kind of got my life down to a tee, apart from the fact that every day feels like triple Spanish and then being put in detention 'cos I've got all my homework wrong! Right, although I'm only an hour ahead of you all, I'm off to bed. I may or may not have had a few glasses of vino blanco in my favourite tapas bar already ( Andy, I need the red-faced smiley here please)!!
  5. Colin, I'm not that bad!! Ha ha
  6. I was just about to flounce off Hugh but then I saw you were only joking! Mr Twobears is working his backside off but I am a lady of leisure and have even joined an all women gym (but the personal trainers are all young men, ha ha) so what's not for me to like?! I wish I knew how to find the smileys I am kind of dreading July because the heat will be unbearable but, otherwise it's great here Hi 14N ( please imagine the waving smiley)
  7. Are you sure Graham? I'm not sure I speak the language in Surrey!!!
  8. Hi Wasso! Hablas Espanol? Weirdly, I can now read it, even all the official documents, but I still can't bl**dy speak it!
  9. Not sure how long I'll be here. Could be another 6 months or a year or two. Depends on work really. If I come 'home' I've got to live in Surrey and not sure how I feel about that.
  10. Hi Graham and GMballistic and Andy! I can't figure out how to get the smileys on my iPad or I'd wave!
  11. Well that's how it seems to me anyway as life in Madrid is waaaaay different to living in the back of beyond in East Yorkshire. Not sure if anyone will actually remember me but I just wanted it say !Hola! because it gets a bit lonely being in a city where you barely speak the language, although my twice weekly Spanish lessons should help remedy that! I was selling my Zed prior to moving here but when it came down to it I just couldn't bear to part with him so he's all tucked up in the UK and I sometimes have dreams about him. Sad or what? I am NOT getting a car in Madrid because the standard of driving here is atrocious. How can people who are perfectly pleasant as pedestrians suddenly undergo such a transformation I wonder? Anyway, I hope everyone is well and happy. I'm having fun here and I am living in what we Yorkshire folk would call 'a reet posh part of t'city', completely surrounded by designer shops and bars etc. You'd be hard pressed to swing a mouse, let alone a cat, in the apartment but it's home
  12. Glad you're ok x A White van man did something similar to me (wasn't in Mr Zedders at time) and I was considered to be at fault even though he apologised to me for his bad driving.
  13. Yup, I will give in gracefully Lovely kitty family you have there Pete & Caroline. Vik, love your card
  14. Ok, Pete can be the mad cat lady Monday 'til Thursday and I will take over the role Friday to Sunday. That way we can both be happy Would this be the right moment to mention that my daughter just told me she's making me a coffee mug that says, "Everything tastes better with cat hair"?
  15. You have some lovely cats Pete. You and Caroline are so soppy when it comes to cats - I like it We nearly ended up with two more this weekend but one of the farmers decided they would take them for the farm instead so I know they will have a great home
  16. Yup he gonna be a bruiser - get his danglies chopped asap - many vets will do it from three months onwards now Certain parts of my kitten, Sabbath, are going for a one way trip to the vets on Thursday He's got to be microchipped next week and then he can finally go out and stop destroying my kitchen
  17. chubbster, free AA cover for Mr Zedley once he gets back on the road after his 'relaxing holiday' would be a good apology as far as I am concerned (providing that the AA's service improves)
  18. Thanks Graham I actually ended up speaking to the AA in the end. My complaint has been logged and I am waiting to hear back from them. Initially they tried to blame Land Rover Assist but the mistake was definitely with the AA as Land Rover didn't get notified until many hours had elapsed and that is what I am actually complaining about. To expect someone to wait in a broken down vehicle overnight is downright ridiculous and, if the conversation with the AA was taped, I have concrete proof that I did not choose that option but quite clearly stated that I needed a tow truck (since they had already told me that they had no tyres to fit an Evoque) and did not want to wait for Land Rover to attend.
  19. Complaint now registered so I will post again when I hear from the AA
  20. Thank you Mr AA person. I will contact you shortly.
  21. Looking at that mess actually makes me feel a bit ill
  22. Sorry to hear that sad news Pete. It is very clear how much your cats mean to you
  23. Nice use of inverted commas Andy, especially loving the ones around the word "ladies"
  24. Squee, NISMO is gorgeous Love the kitties too! Are those courgettes in the background on the first pic chubbster? Not sure why that is important mind you
