  1. Received the Rad Cap today, thanks mate!
  2. Connard is what a French person would call us!
  3. Is it just a one-off transfer fee or do you have to pay yearly as well?
  4. I'm pretty sure mine was supposed to stay stock... then I found this forum...
  5. I assume so that you don't have a number plate ruining the look of your car... And possibly for forward facing speed cameras? I would have said the former more than the latter though. Cool gadget, but you're asking for trouble if you get caught IMHO.
  6. I assume it would be an MOT fail and at least 3 points if you were pulled? I know these are small prices to pay for awesomeness!
  7. Yeah, it did strike me as a bit odd, but I think the guy is a proper old school mechanic... Oh well... Incidentally, how are you finding the Black Diamond setup as this is what I went for?
  8. To be fair to the garage they just told me on the grounds of safety. They were missing the clips afterall. They have looked after my Zed very well so far and were recommended by a member on here who also takes their Zed there.
  9. The garage are going to try to use the old bracket to secure them. Although, they scoffed at the idea that the new lines would help improve braking... Hopefully it'll all be sorted now.
  10. Thanks for the quick replies guys! My kit didn't have any clips, which is why they are clearly having problems!
  11. Hi, My car is currently in the garage having some new brakes and HEL Lines fitted. I thought that this was going to be a straightforward procedure, but I have just had a call saying that they will not fit the front lines as they are dangerous / MOT fail… They have said that because there are no brackets, that they chafe against the suspension. They have fitted the short ones on the rear and were going to put the long on the front. They also mentioned that the rears were not ideal, but because there is not steering movement it would be ok? Any advice / help greatly appreciated as I would like my car back for the weekend? Cheers, Paddy
  12. I've been thinking about doing this mod for ages, so if it works and saves me the hassle of getting the correct wires etc., then I'm in.
  13. Totally agree Doogy as far as depreciation is concerned, you probably don't lose any money.
  14. It all depends on what happens at the end of the 48 month period? That's usually the catch, but I guess if you just have to give the car back, then no problem, except you have no capital. The alternative is to buy the car off them at a set fee, which will probably be more than it's worth. As long as you're happy with the T&C's then go for it!
  15. Do it, I absolutely love mine! I thought I'd regret spending so much, but I still get a buzz every time I accelerate.
  16. Yep spot on Changing to 6th at 40mph..... really? whats that like 1,300 revs I am going out for a drive in a minute So what would you say the optimum revs are, assuming that you are gently cruising? I've always thought that the lower the better, without labouring the engine obviously?

  18. +1 Submariner I'm going to treat myself to one someday!
  19. I average about 22 mpg. I've never seen anything near 30, even on a long run. As others have said, I doubt a 3.5 is going to be more efficient than a 1.6. I presume you didn't buy the VXR for it's economy, so does a few less mpg really matter? The difference between 22 mpg and 28 mpg is only about 6p per mile (Assuming super unleaded is £1.43). I would estimate that your 40 mile trip will cost about £2.40 extra per day based on my average compared to yours.
  20. Yep, can't recommend him highly enough. I needed a new clutch slave cylinder and some other parts recently. I ordered Thursday evening and they were delivered on Monday!
  21. Thanks all for the advice. I'll have a proper look tomorrow. Took her out today and there were no signs of any problems, but would rather take action now, than wait until it goes completely.
  22. That looks so mean, intake possibly a bit much for my tastes, but absolutely love it!
  23. I was driving in traffic the other day and as I pulled away at a roundabout, my clutch pedal stayed down… I drove away and after about 30 seconds it popped back up. This has never happened before and I’ve not noticed the clutch slipping or noticed a high bite (Although I do find the clutch heavy compared to anything I’ve driven previously). I’ve had a good read of similar posts on this site and the other forums, but there didn’t seem to be a conclusive answer. It seemed that this could either be a normal mechanism that the car employs when the clutch overheats to needing the clutch replacing or a synchro issue… Any ideas / advice much appreciated?
