  1. Freebird this is the perfect opportunity for you to make an install guide (Once you get yours working) I need to install mine, but haven't plucked up the courage yet!
  2. Someone will correct me, but there should be a couple of places to find your paint code: 1. Your owner's manual 2. The driver's door (Near the lock when the door is open) 3. Under the bonnet at the bottom when open My only problem with paints4u is that their Azure Blue (B17) is called electric blue and looks nothing like my car's colour...
  3. Have you considered donating it to charity (if you can't find a buyer)? www.giveacar.co.uk They will come and collect your car, scrap it and give the proceeds (minus an admin fee) to the charity you choose on their website. I was going to do this with my old Punto, but unbelievably, someone bought it about 20 mins after I'd filled in the giveacar form online.

As promised, here are some pics of mine. You'll have to excuse the terrible job I did of removing the polish!

Glad I could be of help! I'll post a pick of mine installed when I get back from work so you can see how it fits.
  6. I've only seen one other since I've owned mine (Just under 5 weeks). I waved and got WTF expressions from both driver and passenger... Needless to say, I didn't post in the Spotted / Flyered forum. It won't put me off waving or flashing though!

I bought this from ebay the other day: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0574667791 £4.39 delivered and it fits really well. No reception issues, but I libe in a city, so wouldn't expect bad reception anyway. Besides, if it's sh!te I've only wasted <£5.
  8. I just spat coffee on my keyboard! I'm pretty sure my Gran had some of these on her Nissan......... Cherry... back in the early 80's
  9. Do you get any motor sounds when you press eject with the keys out of the ignition?
  10. It was me and the reason mine wouldn't reset is that I'd cut / desoldered the wires on the tape motors. As soon as I'd attached these back the reset worked first time. I really feel your pain, because it's a fairly huge effort to get everything out and reinstalled only to find it not working. My advice would be to firstly see if you can push any of the tape mechanism in (With a pen or pencil... or an old tape if you have one). If the reset still doesn't work, then take it all out again and see if you've accidentally disconnected / cut any of the motor wires? I just thought that I was doing the reset incorrectly, must have tried 20 to 30 times. As soon as I'd reconencted the wires it worked first time, so can only assume that something isn't right inside. Hope you get it working, because it really is worth the effort!
  11. Yellow followed by Stock / Red. Not keen on the others IMHO. I always thought your wheels were gold (based on your sig)!
  12. Totally forgot about Hiddink getting that job. Can assume that he's contracted up to the eyeballs. I just can't see Jose going back. Part of the reason he left before, if we believe what we read, was that Abramovic interfered with selections and transfers etc. That surely won't have changed, especially as the team are doing so badly at the moment?
  13. They need a complete overhaul to compete at the level they did a few years ago. The only person I can see coming is Hiddink or possibly Capello? I don't think it'll be a quick fix either and Abramovic will want fast results. Could be an interesting transfer window this summer.
  14. Turns out, not deviating from tried and tested instructions is the way forward! Soldered the wires back on the motors and the deck reset immediately. I now have iPod in my Zed and the sound quality is really good!
  15. Ha ha, yeah... Should have just followed the instructions! I'd read about the tape motor being annoying, so thought it would be a simple fix just to disable these. I'll sort it tomorrow and report back.
  16. Well I guess that's what I get for trying to be clever! I'll have to take it back out tomorrow and reattach the power.
  17. So I tried the iPhone / Aux hack today. Everything seemed to go Ok, but after reinstalling and trying the reset procedure several times, I still can't get the deck to reset. I followed the guide to the letter, except I removed the power to the tape motors. Could this be a possible issue? Is there anything else I can try that might work? Thanks
  18. Took it to the garage yesterday to get it checked out. Luckily for me it looks as though it'll hold as it is for a while, even though it's pretty noisy. Now to save for a Nismo (And I will when the time comes )
  19. Thanks Tarmac, Mine arrived yesterday and is now fitted. Excellent product and service!
  20. Thanks guys, I'm going to get a couple of quotes for a weld job. I had planned on getting a new system at some point, but would rather not cough up now! I've had a look at a couple on your site Tarmac. I guess this serves me right for joking I'd be back in touch soon!
  21. Like a complete moron, I've managed to reverse into a little wooden stake at work. I didn't hit it hard, but noticed a small bump. I got out to have a look and there was a tiny scratch on the bumper, so thought disaster had been pretty much averted... ...On the drive home, the exhaust sounded louder (And less tuneful) than normal, and when sat in traffic, there was an awful metallic rattle from the back left of the car. So it looks like I've moved the exhaust when hitting the stake and that has in turn broken the connection between the back box and the middle pipe (You'll have to forgive my terminology as I'm a mechanical noob - picture attached to help explain)... The pieces are still attached, but the pipes and connections are so rusty, that they are probably going to fail fairly soon. So, having read a few articles on OEM Zed exhausts, it looks like the rust is a common issue. My only question is; how much of the exhaust am I going to have to replace, if any? Is it worth getting a full new system fitted or realistically could it be welded / fixed? Bearing in mind that I'll probably now need a tetanus shot just for looking at it! Also, is there anything I can do as a temporary fix, to prevent any part falling off / shaking loose? Looks like parking sensors will be my next mod!
  22. Put me down for one please! I also have the facelift 296BHP model, so presume that this is OK for me too?
  23. This guide is excellent. I'm hoping to possibly have a go at the hack at the weekend. I also want to be able to charge my iphone at the same time as listening to music. Do I just need this one of these?: http://www.maplin.co.uk/ground-loop-isolator-33172 Obviously, I plug the RCA / Phono to 3.5mm into this and then solder the isolator to the tape deck? I'm planning on splitting the front ciggy lighter socket for the power with one of these (Hiding it behind the dash): http://www.maplin.co.uk/car-accessory-socket-1055 and then using a dual USB lighter adapter so I can charge my phone or anything else I may want to use. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ultra-Compact-H ... 714&sr=8-5 Am I missing anything, is this the best / easiest way of doing this?
