  1. I don't think I'll lose too much on one of these for £5-6k ish as a track slag. Reckon running costs would be under £1250k pa and it could very well appreciate annually in that range if the Type R legend keeps going. Some good recommendations here and yes the DC5 I'm looking at has been TGM maintained. Question is do I go UKDM DC2 or JDM DC5? Latter feels better to me but higher insurance and tougher resale.
  2. Interested in one of these, ticks all the trackday boxes, not hugely bothered about FWD etc. Anyone have ownership experience? Are JDM imports always this bloody expensive to insure (£600 mods undeclared, £950 otherwise)?! Cheers, DT
  3. The A45 is bastard quick, just like a £40k, 350bhp, 4wd car should be.
  4. Good cars and quick, but I find the boxy looks a bit prosaic next to pork and aston. We had one join us on a road trip recently and it stood out for looking so mundane next to the fezzas, caterhams and GT3s. Then again so did my 370...
  5. But also more expensive. Would be interesting to see how it would up vs a DMS remapped TT-RS. Fai
  6. I can confirm having eaten A45 dust at the nurburgring, they are much (much) quicker than the 370ZN.
  7. Rule of thumb budget £150-200pd for fuel, food and basic lodgings. Extras are toll roads, ferry, insurance, eu breakdown and ringpass if you're feeling lucky! Switzerland is eye watering, Germany is dirt cheap. Anything more than 350 miles per day is too much IMHO and turns your holiday into a chore - six hours tops per day.
  8. £700-1000? Only if you're filling the tank with water and sleeping rough!
  9. Can't stand driving games to be honest - they've all bit a bit cack since Gran Turismo 2. One of the early rally games on the Xbox 1 was good though - McRae 2005. I prefer arcade racers like Wipeout, Blur, Burnout in general. Forza 4 was OK but I spent more time in the gallery mode looking at the cars rather than driving them. Horizons 2 is a dreadful game. Nice concept but it just doesn't hang together properly like some of the early Test Drive games used to.
  10. Well by the time I've realised that the PS4 is not very good XB1 will be under the £200 impulse purchase level. TBH the MKX fatality videos on youtube have totally won me over, just absolutely gruesome! The PS4 graphics also look "next gen" to me while my brother's XB1 doesn't feel like the same step-up in quality. Very good, but just not the same.
  11. Thanks for the heads-up. I guess a pre-chrimbo price war is on the cards so no immediate rush...
  12. FWIW the best exhausts I've heard have been the Motordynes. If I could justify the extra outlay I'd have their gear from intake plenum to tailpipe.
  13. MGS does look a bit special but I remember it being like playing a terrible b movie in the PS1 days. Also not a fan of stealth infiltration and prefer the Rambo / COD approach.
  14. Close to throwing in the towel with the bloody Xbox now. 13gb of my 16gb HDD now accounts for Battlefield 4 content forced upon me, all controllers and remote are knackered and every demo vid I see of the PS4 looks amazeballs. Think I can justify it by only buying these things once every ten years...
  15. Miltek plus Berk cats on my 350 was subtle at town speed but very fruity under WOT. On my 370ZN I ran a cobra which was good on it own but the addition of berk cats has made it very raspy, pop and crackly. Defo not for everyone (GF hates it, mates love it) due to motorway drone.
  16. 370ZN here with Cobra zorst and berk hfc. Even my Ferrari owning mates love the sound.
  17. Well - it's not ideal though is it? Given the optimised chassis I'd rather not fudge their tuning with the wrong size tyres. Grippier ones, yes. But not the wrong size!
  18. TBH I'd rather buy MPSS than run the wrong tyre size...
  19. Well it's a moot point anyway - according to the Michelin website they don't appear to manufacture the 245/40/19 size required for the front axle
  20. Wow that must have hurt, serious off right there. I've driven directly into a tyre wall (at a mere 30mph) and it wasn't fun, took a lot of time and money to fix the car after that. One thing it did make me realise is that having a steel chassis and panel car with a dozen airbags comes in handy some times. You'd be dead in an Elise. Give me five star EuroNCAP any day!
  21. Rear boots getting a bit thin and looking at alternatives, default option would normally be MPSS but I'm feeling fruity and thinking about Cup 2s instead. Mates have them on GT3s and M3s, a bit hairy in the wet/cold apparently. Interested in hearing 370z comments. Cheers, DT
  22. OK Cool. I had a resonated Miltek on my old 350 and it sounded a bajillion times better after I had Berk high-flow cats installed. hugely addictive sound over 3500rpm :o
