  1. Do you have any leather cleaner comparisons in your test thread? I don't think so, no. At least I don't recall doing one. I do have a number of cleaners in my arsenal, if I ever come across a suitably filthy leather interior to demonstrate on I will do though. On the topic of conditioners, anything produced after the mid-ninties is top coated so conditioners actually do more harm than good; they never reach the leather they're designed to condition but rather sit on the top coat attracting/trapping dirt. Don't use conditioners on modern leather, please. Leather manufactured before the mid-ninties will benefit from conditioning from time to time though.
  2. Also, AutoGlym is mediocre at best. It adds no protection at all and didn't satisfy my cleaning needs either. Dr Leather Wipes are considerably better for maintenance cleaning, the spray is better for deep cleaning. Gyeon Leather Coat is exceptional for protection.
  3. You won't find any good products that add shine to leather, because leather isn't supposed to shine. The shine you see on some leather is dirt, so if you want it shiny then stop cleaning it. Not sure why you'd want shiny leather though???
  4. Amazon Prime mainly. There's a few more on the list that I want to try at some point, with the infrequent opportunities to try them these days means I can spread the costs and tick some more off. I'd like to say this will be a definitive test, but there's always going to be something I don't get hold of so I'm just aiming for as many as possible. That and any opportunity to demonstrate how mediocre some products actually are.
  5. The other match up of the day saw; Now it should be noted that I... "dislike" Autobrite Direct and the whole way they conduct themselves. So I made a point of not buying this from them. And I paid less for it as a result. Also in the spirit of full disclosure, I'm hoping this is, like most of their other products, s**t. So on with the test! Autobrite Direct Purple Rain 2.0 did this; Meanwhile Auto Finesse Iron Out was doing this; Rinsing occurred, then our contestants swapped wheels in the usual way. On the previously Purple Rain 2.0'd wheel, Iron Out did this; Meanwhile on the previously Iron Out'd wheel, Purple Rain 2.0 did this; Virtually nothing... okay, it picked a bit up on the calliper, managed to react with both the brake disc and the iron wheel weights but I saw no evidence of it doing anything else. Auto Finesse wins hands down. Therefore, in an attempt to narrow down the offerings, this leaves me with one more than I started with... oh well. Still in the game are; Bilt Hamber Korrosol, Car Chem Revolt, Auto Finesse Iron Out, and further investigation warranted from OCD Finish Purple Haze. Tune in for the next exciting episode some time in... the future. Fast & Furious 11 will probably be out before that. So probably in 6 months time.
  6. Under normal circumstances I'd say I told you so. But, as I have told you so with such vehemence and frequency already the phrase has lost all meaning. Therefore, I will be replacing it with the phrase, I have informed you thusly. [/sheldon]. Then So just the 10 months since I last cleaned it (!!!), should see plenty of fallout on all the wheels... moreso the two which haven't seen a fallout remover in a year. So with that in mind... I've introduced another 2 contestants for this round. First up we have; Standard prep resumed - foamed the entire car (Car Chem Snow Foam) wheels and all followed by a thorough rinse. Then I broke out the shampoo (some Waxybox sample... yes, I'm still working my way through those!) and Wheel Woolies and another rinse. Then on with the fallout removers. First up, Bilt Hamber Korrosol, which did this; Meanwhile on another wheel, OCD Finish Purple Haze was doing this; A strict 7 minutes and 8 seconds (ish) after application, they were both rinsed and then each product swapped wheels. On the previously Purple Hazed wheel, Korrosol did this; Meanwhile on the previously Korrosol'd wheel, Purple Haze did this; So... er... there you have it...? A draw! Well, not quite. I quickly realised that the wheel the Korrosol started on was the front wheel that hasn't seen a fallout remover in a year, so suspecting that there was just a f**ktonne of fallout on the wheel, I opted for another round. On both wheels. Purple Haze went back to it's original wheel, as did Korrosol. Korrosol did this; Whilst Purple Haze did this; Nothing. Then both swapped wheels again and Korrosol did... nothing. Meanwhile Purple Haze also did nothing again. Therefore I give the win to Bilt Hamber Korrosol. But it's not the most convincing win of ever, and I have to admit I'm pleasantly surprised by OCD Finish Purple Haze, due to this I will be putting Purple Haze up against the other two that have made it this far. I'll be doing a top three (in order most effective) and I suspect we may potentially be looking at podium finish for this rank outsider.
  7. Well, if you ever need a second pair of hands.... Glad it's all going well for you mate, just remember to make some time for yourself every now and then!
  8. You're half right, Brembos were standard on all UK cars whether GT or not.
  9. I didn't think bits were clear coated, have you got any pictures of your damage at all? Im bit so sure its clearcoat in the strictest sense but its something forming a top layer if memory serves. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk Ah, you could be right actually. Ignore me.
  10. As mentioned in that thread, you can get clay pads for use on a machine polisher, although I haven't seen anyone selling them recently. They don't look anything like the G3 mitt though.

  12. Oh I don't know, Mrs Brown's Boys makes a living out of jokes that are certainly not funny...
  13. You say that, but that's not how I would refine elegance so they've certainly redefined the term. They've just redefined it in the same way that "literally" was redefined; i.e. to excuse misuse of the word!
  14. The clay should be a little bit sticky, rubbery type of texture. It should stick to itself after a few minuted if you leave it folded over without any pressure. To be honest, that looks like it's falling apart in their ow advertising photos (6) anyway so I wouldn't expect that one to be any good. Get yourself one from Polished Bliss, it's reasonably priced and you know it will definitely work.
  15. Nope. Use the disc to leverage it away. You don't need to remove anything depending on how you're lifting the car, at most just the wheel off for access.
  16. A lot are. But then the same applies to a lot of detailing products. There's very few genuine manufacturers out there, even less selling directly to end users.
  17. It's a common "issue" on the 350 - just bend the backplate back into place a bit with a screwdriver, job jobbed.
  18. I use the Car Pro cloth. Not a fan of the mitts personally, I find them less versatile than the cloths.
  19. Get Ricey to dip them.
  20. It's the metal part of the door just below the seal I think As abve it's either hard rubber or plastic, so clay bar or magic sponge will remove it; you just need something abrasive to lift it. So before I do something stupid, when you say a magic sponge do you mean this? https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Cleaning-Scourers-Sponges/Magic-Eraser-Chemical-Free-Stain-Mark-Removal/B003QITQC6 I'll have a go with a clay bar first and see how it fares. Thanks for your help guys. Yep, they're the jobbies.

  22. Before polishing for me, so once a year on my own car. I might do it from time to time between (if I'm using a glaze) if I feel the surface needs it, but not all that often really.
  23. This. Or better still a clay cloth.... I have one ...... but how long should you keep them (or how many uses) I've not found the limit of mine yet, I intend to keep using it until I feel it's not working anymore or it's falling apart. I have used mine to do maybe 20 or so cars already and it's still going strong.
  24. If that's the window seal, get a clay bar on there and it should come right off.
