  5. Some folks think they can get their cost of mods back when they sell a car. best way is to put it back to standard and sell the bits. 10k sounds expensive to me for it... best of luck to him

  10. I'll know in the next few days if i am going to be home for this. I going to be heading down in a convoy from aberdeen anyway. I'll swing by and say hello
  11. Thats the same as mine
  12. yeah i got some rtv silicon glue and set it in place..... saves water getting in there as well and its easily broken when you need to replace a bulb
  13. My ebay job camera would take the standard bulb/wire/connection but the fitment wasnt anywhere near as tight as the original fitment.... I would wager that the bulb/wire/connection has just come loose... if you lay on your back and look up through the back of the bumper the chances are you'll find you bulb and it will just be a case of clipping it back in.... worst case a new bulb then clip it in
  14. it wouldnt be too much ill to sort a reg light out. you would think the wiring would still be there and its just a case of plug and play. even if its not you have a working light about a foot away that you can take the power from.... I would really think that if you unclipped the camera and root about you will find the plug for the light... my rear view camera has the fitment for the oem light. are you sure your bulb hasnt just unclipped and sitting loose in the back of your bumper?
  15. Edd china hired a smoke machine and filled the inside of the car with dry smoke.. then the leak was found by looking for smoke coming out. Worth a try if your struggling.
  16. Do you have them in Stock? Ive been watching that one but a brand new one could be cool
  17. ive got a 528 2000plate with 96k on the clock... still looks good clean adn as its a german tank it stands up to tescos car park better... It has a couple of bits of rust coming through.. I try and keep it clean as well but i really dont care about throwing rubbish in the back of it to go to the skips etc etc... keeps my toy car nice
  18. Well it doesnt fit the 370z. The 2 fitments that are close have proper full threads and dont work
  19. They are great bits of kit. If the 370 reservoir is the same thread I'll go and check mine for you brb

I think when your modding german you need to get out of JDM mode. CSL ducktails are always a winner on an e46

Great cars. Just sold mine to my brother when i bought my 370z. The SMG is great I originally looked for a manual but got swayed by the SMG. Super fast gear changes, Thats where it has the upper hand over the 370z as we discovered. The exhaust rasp is like marmite love it or hate. I love it but it kinda sounds like a bag of broken spanners. Mine averaged 21 to 24 mpg so much better than the 370z Well ballanced good handling cars. I had mine for 5 years and it was time for a change. Bad points with them are where the subframe fixes to the shell cracks. There are kits to reinforce the area but you would be looking as the best part of a grand to have the work carried out. To be honest i ran coilovers on mine for 4 years and when i got the subframes inspected prior to selling it all was fine. They go through rear srpings and trailing arm bushes alot. servicing can be a little dear but if you find a good indi specialist you'll be laughing. I loved my one but the front of the sils and one of the rear quarters was beginning to break out in rust. The rear Quarters have a good lip that dirt can sit in. I cleaned there fairly often but the tin worm still won in the end. Any other quetions feel free to give me a shout. I've been heavy bmw forum user and run a local bmw forum for a good while now.. I never had an issue with the smg pump. To be honest i think it was more of an issue with SMG 1 (e36) than SMG 2 (e46). There is a relay that goes which will cost you £14 to replace I have heard of folk having issues with coils. A set of front disk will cost you just over £300 for ATE's if you shop around. They are huge drilled and vented jobs. The standard brakes are fairly cr4p though. I stuck on some braided hoses, grippier pads and some 5.1 fluid which made all the difference.
  22. never heard of people running these on n/a cars?
  23. If i am home for this i might have a drive down
  24. my mum has run a 2004 cooper s since new and she has had to replace the water pump and the steering rack. pretty sure her car still only has 40k miles... Apart from that she has had no real issues
