  1. it was all plug and play. only difference is he has grounded the handbrake cable so the video etc works. (wasn't sure if this was a live) we removed the head unit, harness, heater controls and ribbon and still had the high draw down there was a dent in the ribbon cable about the size of a match head but I used the meter on ohm to check for continuity between the pins and it showed that the insulation was intact and once it was the removed the high draw down was still present
  2. yeah, it took me about 10 attempts at holding it down for 15s then up for 15 s for mine to fully reset... it was a pain in the ass as it was pi$$ing with rain
  3. the black coloured one in this pic
  4. The car is pulling 0.6A with everything switched off. If we pull one of the fuses in the cab it drops to 0.3A which is better but still high. The description for what the fuse does is vague. Any one got a more detailed description of what each fuse does. Its the fuse with the black coloured label named electrical components or something similar, its a 10A fuse in the cab.
  5. Best thing to do is stick a multi meter between the negative terminal on the battery and the negative lead with the lead disconnected and the car off. Switch the meter to current A. Then one by one pull fuses until you see the the current being drawn reduce. This will show you which circuit is drawing down the power when I say one by one I mean pull it out check the current then replace it if you've had no joy. Chances are though it's your head unit. Check the switched and perminant lives are round the right wAy
  6. if you get it running again check the output voltage from the alternator at the battery terminals what voltage is the battery saying now? If its low again I have a smart charger you can borrow. Its the business
  7. Have you tried to re calibrate the windows, shut the doors, switch on the ignistion, push the button down for 15secs then pull it up for 15secs I had a similar issue after disconnecting the battery maybe worth disconnecting and re connecting the battery then giving it a bash
  8. Magic that's great. Would a prerequisite to the 4 day course be the 1 day course or would everything be covered with the 4 day course. Fancy sending me costing's involved. I've just spoken to the mrs and surprisingly she thinks its a great idea, she maybe fancies the peace. If I was to buy that package would it require anything extra to map the car i.e. lamda sensors
  9. Ok so ive had cars mapped in the past both on dynos and live road maps. I make my money just now tweeking electrical sensors on logging tools down oil wells so I think I should be able to pick it up. I would love to get into mapping just as a hobby I've seen these folks who appear to do courses on learning the dark art of mapping. Has anyone got an experience with them and the courses? It looks like an awesome couple of days away. My mate is also up for it. http://www.emacademy.co.uk/IntroductionToEngineManagementMapping.aspx Then after having done the above course I was considering this package http://uprev.com/secure/management/osiris-tuner.html I wonder how relevant the course would be. I understand the software will be different but the fundamentals should be the same. Also when I've had cars mapped they have had an additional air fuel sensor fitted up the end of the exhaust. Does the Osiris software some how take the information from the ecu or would there be additional equipment needed? any advise or experiences would be very helpful cheers Richie
  10. haha yeah is takes more than rain to stop me. I didn't take a photo of the back but I've made this awesome pic
  11. So slow progress with the bumper but I have received and fitted my carbon B pillar covers from seibon. I was expecting them to be a direct replacement for the OEM B pillar covers but they are actually a b pillar cover cover. The are smoothed backed so they needed bonded to the oem covers. I am happy with the finish. I had funked up on of my covers in a failed wrapping attempt so these hide the damage nicely. real vs wrap bonding, I used masking tape to prevent any bond getting on the nice and shiney carbon Diamonds are a girls best friend surely weaved carbon is a mans, My top tip for removal of these covers are pull on the clip at the very top and once that unclips push the cover down.. I didn't do this on my first one and ended up with it in three bits
  12. its a caker to do mate, just make sure both wheels of the arb that you are working has an equal load... So both off the ground if your using axel stands.. If you just jack up on side and have the other on the ground it will be a total pita
  13. welcome along bud, I agree the black wheels have made a huge difference
  14. Its 12in x 3in. yeah I know its a risk but it looks so much better... The plate on the back is legal lol
  15. Funk it, put me down for one of the 370z Duck bill.. Not 100% if I am gong to go carbon or just get the plastic one painted
  16. I really really want this "370z Duck bill spoiler CS Z34 Type-N spoiler" When would you be looking to do the group buy? I need to get January by with... Just seen this thread but just paid for carbon b pillar covers doh
  17. Ive got my hands on this It needs a bit of work to get it right but it should look like this once its done. I am also getting the holes filled and smoothed so I can move the plate. which works out as theres a few stone chips and scratched on it so it will freshen it up nice I did want the nismo front bumper but this was a deal I couldn't say no to
  18. welcome along, what kinda times were you doing?
  19. I bought a loom through a guy on another forum and a camera from eBay for £17. So all in I was under £80. The loom the guy makes is spot on and plug and play. I am sure I can speak to the guy for you if you needed one
  20. It wasn't bad. Nothing a bit of polish wouldn't fix. You'll be fine if you sticking on the us holder. When you take the holder off there is 2 triangle holes in the bumper and a wee bracket. Kinda stopped my plan but I am away to get the holes filled and the bumper resprayed
  21. Nice one Aaron, now get a pub meet organised so we can go celebrate your new roll
