    R34 Perfection

Never really been a fan of the styling but that black on is lovely! Liked the pic above more though
  2. Happy birthday, just gone 30 and being 21 doesn't seem all that long ago!
  3. Generally power is overrated for trackdays; you can have as much fun in a stripped out Caterfield as a 700hp monster. If you went to town on the Zed and got a hundred or so kilo's out of her, had a good braking and suspension setup you'd transform the car and find your limits before the Zeds. I know people that still use old DC2's and Preludes on track and still absolutely love them and because they can drive they often leave the turbo nutter brigade for dead.
  4. My Springer is a little sod with sheep, he doesn't hurt them, just chases them, rounds them up then sits barking at them, thankfully he is now 14 so I can catch him! Love the clip!
  5. Its not just for cars with boost, some NA's with breathers top end/rocker can also pass sludge back into the intake.
  6. Was it you, we were both pootling along, my cruise control probably set about 4mph faster than yours
  7. If it is your injectors, you can also send them off to this place for professional care http://www.injectorcleaning.co.uk/
  8. Really really sorry to read about this; I hope it never happens to me CCTV is a good option, you can get something like a QNAP Nas and 2 IP cameras for around £400, the cameras can be set for motion detection and automatically upload the stills/video to an internet FTP site (can be had probably for free but my g/f pays £4 /month for her website and I hide them on there) - feel free to PM if you want to discuss. Once again, sorry for your families losses, people like this are utter scum!
  9. don't reset it, get the code first +1 - Don't go for a long drive in the car, you could end up with a monster bill!
  10. Good to hear, mine is a little notchy at the minute and I'm hoping to get it all changed in the next few weeks. Agree wholeheartedly about the S2000 gearbox's - they are beautiful!
  11. They all sound little things but as I'm sure you're aware, they do mount up I've also got a grinding on hard left and right turns, haven't had chance to look at it yet but think mine is brake related as well or possibly the banana arm bushes. Either way, nothing too horrendous (I hope )
  12. Thanks for all your honesty guys, very much appreciated I am always quite happy to spend on good tyres but obviously don't want to be best over a barrel for tyres that I'm not going to be using to their full potential, there is just no point. Its funny you saying that with the 040's, the most fun I've ever had on track I had 4 different hard as nails terrible in the wet tyres on my old track prelude, one hot sunny castle combe day and the blighters came to life and were absolutely superb!
  13. Thanks for all the replies. The PSS sound most favourable here - I have to ask though, are they overkill for what I need? My reason being that I want to track the car next year and will have a separate set of alloys with tyres, due to having done quite a few trackdays I really don't get all that excited on the road. A see a few mentioning the Toyo T1-Rs, I had these on a few previous cars and was impressed with their wet/dry grip on the road. I did one trackday on them and swore never to again, the sidewalls were like jelly and after 4 laps of the old Anglesey I was pitting due to my tyres frustrating the life out of me.
  14. I fully understand I just wanted to clarify just in case as my post wasn't particularly well written and some people do fear what they don't understand and also.... the internet is full of folk that misinterpret Thanks mbs, doing the Reading 1/2 marathon next year and will carry on training for the full thing, hoping that I get a place. I can fully relate to spending time with people. When I worked for Cap Gemini a couple of years ago I did some work with the prince's trust. We took some young folk (18-25) from difficult backgrounds to a fishery near Telford where we met up with a charity for children with learning difficulties and spent the day with them helping them catch the fish and enjoy their day, it was massively rewarding for all involved and I'd encourage anyone to jump in if they get the chance to - the kids were lovely and the little boy I was looking after caught about 12 in a net, he was only about 5 but didn't stop smiling Regarding the clack on the hooter and getting back on topic it was a great shot
  15. Amazingly.... I found an old post from 2006 on the MRC, this is the place: http://www.autoprotec.co.uk/Import%20conversions.htm Might be worth emailing them and seeing what they can do for you, when I used them the service was top notch!
  16. It is definitely only on the clocks, I'll have a google for you as I had to send my RX-7 speedo off after it failed and I wanted the mileage correcting.... annoyingly I did have to send the old and the new units together though but if you've got that piece of paper you should be fine.... let me look for you!
  17. Come and spend a day at one of our services, may help you. I'm Acting Chairman of the Board of Trustees. http://wilfward.org.uk/Con5/ Just to clarify when I say hate and am scared of, its in regard to the various illnesses not the sufferers; I want to run the London marathon in 2013 for a mental health charity and I am leaning towards alzheimer's society, one of my mum's life long friends is in the intermediate stages now, truly horrible seeing a kind woman slowly lose herself
  18. Thanks folks, some of the other threads were a bit conflicting and given my terrible banter I couldn't decide if some of the rants were in jest or not I'll have a price up them all and see where I come to. 14k should last me 2/3 years in the zed, possibly even longer, only done 900 miles since October in her.
  19. lol doh! I was using the advanced search and didn't check the areas - when I saw an oil question in what I thought was general so I thought this'll do but its actually technical (sorry mods) Can I ask how they are wearing? Reading some of the reviews people have said 10k max - I know geometry comes into alot of tyre wear and can massively affect it.
  20. Hello all, After a whole world of searching and reading countless threads with some angry people in I've come down to 2x tyres: Michelin Pilot Sport PS2, & Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta My fronts are low / almost slaphead and really need to be sorted in the next week. My only criteria is the good grip and well lasting. For these reasons it seems long term the PS2's are the best shout. Anyone got any other brands that they've tried that match my criteria? When I say well lasting I'm thinking 15k - my car is a bit of a princess on the road but I intend tracking her next year and will get a set of different wheels then
  21. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/motorshows ... llery.html Some nice and old motors in there!
