  1. Geo alignment carried out. Must have needed it as feels much better, just need some dry weather to give it a proper test. New 3" system with 200cell sports cats, picked similar tips to OEM, Reasonably quiet on warm tick over, but as soon as any more than a nats baw hair of throttle is applied you hear the V6 roar again need some dry weather to get out and give it a good blast to hear it properly. Please excuse the shabby W brace, its on my list of things to remove and bead blast to see if it needs replacing or just a bit of TLC
  2. Exactly! Straight on to the M62 for a good blast! and to loss your licence That actually happened to a mate of mine. He had his 2ltr Focus Super chipped and on the drive home got busted doing 120mph odd on the motorway. Doh! Got an UpRev booked myself Tigerzed so will be interested to see how yours goes. End of Feb though for mine so got to wait. I'm the same(booked in for an uprev that is, not getting caught doing120mph), will be nice to see how we all get on next month
  3. Just did mine a few week back, its easy enough on the drive. Only issue i had was one of the bolts on the rear that are pressed in and held in place with the spline, sheared the spline. Pain in the a*se but once i got it out just replaced it with a cap screw (cant get a spanner into it, explains why the standard ones are splined and pressed) and new nut.
  4. Give the moving parts a spray with WD40 or Zip Lube.

    W Brace

I could be doing with replacing mine over the next year or two, so will be interesting to see what price you can get one for

    Has Anyone?

Untill the end of the week all thats on my car is the standard cats and y pipe no mid section or back box, Its asbo loud! Brought it to work tonight since its been dry. Sounds good when pushing it and spits and crackles when you lift off. but would be a nightmare to live with if you did any long distance driving and could quickly p*ss of your neighbours.
  7. Its a typical new build garage...... too small for anything other than a classic mini. I did mange to get my old type r in it but then had no room to do anything else, never bothred trying with the 350z. The ninja fits nicely though, just need to clear the crap out it and get it set up properly as a wee workshop. The 350z just has to hibernate on the drive over the winter months
  8. Few pics after the springs and spacers, gave her a wee wash with Envy Valeting's products they had on offer a while back. First chance i've had to use them on the 350z and the Mrs motor and they seemed pretty good to an amature like me.
  9. Not sure on bumpers or lips, seen a few I like. Not keen on the lips that protrude, just don't look right. Quite like the chargespeed rear so that’s an option for the future and never really looked at skirts to be honest. I was going to go for the EIbach but saved a fortune going with whiteline and notice a big difference so still happy. As for servicing, my job gives me OCD for looking after the mechanical side of things. Good preventative maintenance helps keep responsive maintenance to a minimum Its a bit of blind bend to drift round and for some reason everyone cuts the damn corner!
  10. Thought I should start one to help me keep track of what I've done since owning her so hopefully i don't miss anything out, although I've not took many pics so will need to get more. Bought her with 55k on the clock FSH but needing some TLC and a good service. Only mod then was JWT pop charger. Just had to get a spoiler for her as always thought the 350z looked like it was missing one Then gave her a full service, Oil, Filter, Gearbox oil, Diff oil, Coolant, Aux belts, Spark plugs, Clean air filter and fresh brake fluid. Quiet for a while just changed indicator bulbs to silver ones and side lights to LEDs Had to fix the cutting out left speaker, been fine since then thankfully Small service 61k. Oil and filter and a good check over the car Wheels refurbished and handles done to match Rear wiper Removed Small service 63k. Oil, Filter and fitted braided clutch line with fresh fluid. Rear lights fly eye'd DRL's fitted Smoked side repeaters fitted Got a kinetix plenum cheap due to the gasket being f*cked but no problem for me Rubbed it down and primed and painted it a random BMW silver, cut new gasket and fitted after giving the plenum and throttle body a good clean. I'll need to get a pic of it fitted once I cut the engine cover so it fits back on as it just looks untidy the now. Came home from work to find this Oil,Filter, Gearbox oil, Diff oil, Coolant, Power grid front ARB links, Federo DS2500 front pads and shims, Hel braided brake lines,Motul RBF600 Brake fluid, Eibach 20mm & 25mm spacers, Tein springs and haribo! And managed to pick up http://www.clarkmoto...ble/Rear/BNR30Z and http://www.clarkmoto...le/Front/BNF33Z (hope its ok to use your links) locally brand new for a bargain just by sheer fluke of looking on ebay before I put my order in to clark motorsport. Major service 65k - All of the above fitted plus molyslip over the course of a week weather permitting with it being January, except the braided brake lines. I'll catch them when I get time later this year. Just need to let the suspension settle out then re adjust the ARB links and check the bump stop gaps on the front ARB are fine, then get it booked in for a geo alignment. Barely driven it yet due to the asbo exhaust mod(removed centre section to fit rear sway bar and flange on back box just disintegrated so left off till new Stainless system with HFC is custom made next week) But so far body roll has been cut right out so very happy with my new set up. Pics not that you can see much difference but how she looks after springs and spacers and a wee clean I'll try to get pics of the car after the exhaust has been made. Future plans: Wrap the roof black - the z is a simple roof so would possible try it myself Remove and bead blast W brace to see if its recoverable or needs replaced Probably forgot a few things but I'll add them when/if I remember 27/03/15 72,000 Been a while since i've done much/ updated this Rear windows tinted Fitted braided HEL lines all round just before the MOT last year no pics Wee box of goodies to work with, a magnetic sump plug and molyslip in there hiding Had a busy day yesterday giving her a post winter service and check over Washer pump packed in whist being parked up over the winter, so replaced that. Engine oil, Gearbox oil & molyslip, Diff oil Mechanically pretty sound and happy with everything, a few of the lower suspension bushes are looking a bit past it so will look into replacing them at somepoint in the summer hopefully, no play in them but they do look a bit past it. Few bad stone chips on the bonnet, and a fair few rust bubbles appearing here and there so will be shopping around for a full respray to sort this out and make a few subtle changes
  11. rears are a doddle, when doing the fronts make sure you bring each side of the spring down equally it makes life easier. When installing the new springs I found just before fitting them when the new spring is on the strut and compressed that the strut would want to expand its self a little so I pressed it down and cable tied that extra half inch or so to keep it in place. made it a lot easier re fitting, then just snip off when in place. also if when you re fit the strut bolt it on loosely before you take the tension off the spring as then its already lined up and you only need to line up the spring. Its easy enough, you should be fine
  12. I know, I should really make a build thread even if its just for me to keep track of everything! I'll get round to one when I get a chance for some clean pics. Sounds awesome!! but resonates the inside of the car like mad, I don't think the neighbours are too keen on it though haha. I'm not going to run it while its like that until I drive it to get the new system. I had to take the mid section off to get the rear sway bar out but the flanges on the exhaust crumbled so just though I'd leave it off since its one less flange for the exhaust guys to split.
  13. Uprated adjustable whiteline ARB links, Whiteline adjustable front and rear sway bars, tein springs, federo pads, 25/20 spacers, and gave her a full service. Just got the braided brake lines to fit all round, give the brake system and braided clutch system a good bleed and check ARB link settings once suspension has settled. Currently running with only manifolds and cats until next week when its booked in for a new custom exhaust system, its ridiculously loud till then!! no pics as she's bogging and needs a good wash after spending the last few months sitting on the drive.
  14. Its just next to manchester,so the trafford center will be good for the mrs. Having trouble getting booked in though, phoned yesterday and today and still waiting on a call back today. Hopefully get it sorted soon so we can book the hotel
  15. I'm in the process of booking a trip to tdi north, having to travel all the way from Falkirk just book in there and make a week/weekend out of it, the mrs can spend money on clothes while you spend some cash on your motor
  16. The reviews for the bulb are good, its easily the brightest and best spread of light i've ever had. Just they are like older lights in respect to the colour (lower end of the kelvin range) we were just after something a bit more up the scale to keep it similar with the side lights and drl's. They were the only other bulbs i could find when looking but they just look like cheap copies so not confident they will be anygood or last very long
  17. This already happens! scottish money is often refused when down south despite it us all being one big happy family. also see it abroad often when exchanging money that scottish £'s get a worse rate than english £'s
  18. I am hearing this comment a lot (like martin, I live/work in Scotland for 6 months of the year) and most people cannot back up that statement with any facts. Which (in my opinion) makes it a complete ridiculous statement to make. Can't be any worse?! Are you kidding? What happens if you have to start paying for prescriptions, or your taxes are raised to account for shortfalls in govt. budgets, or if the new Scottish Health Service has to be paid for by Insurance, or the Oil Majors decide it would be cheaper to route North Sea oil South of the border..... It could be much much worse than it is now. There is no facts so we won't know unless we try. At least if we go it alone and try to better ourselves and fail its better than continuing to moan about how the set up is just now.
  19. If we don't try it we'll never know, can't do much worse than the way it is the now
  20. Thanks for the replies & welcome msgs , "scobie140" It doesn't say anything about anti seize compound on the box ( "Denso Iridium Power IKH16") so im assuming i did the right thing by not using it. Should be fine if they are all torqued up correctly and not over tightened, I've used denso plugs before and never lubed them and never had any issues when whipping one out for a check come service time. forgot to say welcome!
  21. The mrs has just got a face lift ix35, the lights for dipped/full beam is yellowish so doesn't fit in with the whiteness of the sidelights. I've tried lots of bulb sites but they only list bulbs for the old model. The new model is the one bulb for dipped and high beam. I popped it out and took a pic of the numbers on the bulb as thought it would be a doddle to then look up new whiter bulbs, but all I can find is the same standard bulb. Any bulb pro's able to help us out? Don't get me wrong these bulbs are amazingly bright but something a little whiter would look so much better. Cheers for any help
  22. Amy time I've done plugs on my cars and bike I'm pretty sure the manufacturer stated on the box not to use any as there coated with something from factory, try to find the old packaging or search the plug manufacturers website
