  1. Bump, anyone? picking car up tonight so will be looking to get this wrapped up asap
  2. Fractured my knee cap and tore my patella off my shin playing foot ball, Got the cap all grouped together and held in place with a wire and got the patella wired back to the bone, about 4 month in a full leg cast then re-learn to walk again then about 6 month later when having kick around's with my mates(against docs advice) managed to snap both wires. Felt a ping and a slight jagging pain at the time that never really went away but thought nothing of it, until a check up xray a few month later. Then had to get another op to remove the wires. Now my knee cap looks and feels like a rocky mountain range and i can't kneel on it unless i have lots of padding under it so now my other knee suffers from taking the brunt of the kneeling. Other than that all seems fine for now but think it will give me a lot of trouble in the future. Had to give up football as I struggled to ever get my fitness and movement back again, not that I was that good to start with haha
  3. Drill and tap it, or drill a pilot hole and try an easy out after sticking some heat on it, if you have a welder try and weld a new nut/bolt to it. Ditch the impact gun if you have a fear of shearing bolts, you can always feel by hand when a bolt is going to shear so know when to back off and try something else
  4. Yeh by the time i went round all the little scuff, bubble, dings it was pretty much a full respray so thought might aswell go for it. Yeh best no tell your wife that haha
  5. Bought myself a old escort van 1.8D for running around in, odd jobs in the garden and ferrying the dog about. Needs a bit of TLC - Brakes are non existent so will be changing the master cylinder, discs, pads and checking over the callipers as one may be sticking. Back door didn't stay closed but that was an easy fix just needed to move the latch forward. Battery is totally shot. Could be doing with a good service and a few holes to patch up. Not familiar with these engines I found poking about the engine the throttle body has a link/ damper broken on it. doesn't seem to affect the running of the van and when moving the lover bit as if it was attached doesn't seem to make any difference. can't seem to find the part on ebay, anyone know its correct name? what its purpose is? Its the blue and white bit I tried to join ford forums to ask but it wont let me for some reason so though i'd take a stab in the dark here. Cheers for any help folks
  6. I did mine and the mrs rear badges and mine stuck on but looked crap up close and hers blew off after about two washes, personally wouldn't use it again as its messy and not the best of finishes having messed around with it on my center caps one quiet nightshift.
  7. Cable arrived today to my suprise, this is what the base was plugged into. Am I right in thinking I can splice into the smaller of the 2 wires(the one I kinked up) here for my dc supply?
  8. Got the base off. So simple just a slight over sight. Just needed a little persuasion with mol grips. awaiting delivery of a adaptor to connect the two male bits of the aerial together. then ill need to run a cable from somewhere to connect to the dc cable, will worrie about this when I get the car back
  9. No problem I'll have another look tommorow morning and try and get it done before I drop the car off, if I can't get it working ill atleast get the base removed and the new one fitted just awaiting wiring. Just hope I can figure out how to properly remove the base other than brute force and ignorance
  10. I went for the euro car parts one as I needed it quick and could just walk in and pick it up. and can confirm it fits the front. Possibly one from an other model of Nissan will be the same part number for the rear if you can find a part number anywhere?
  11. Just did the front one a few weeks back, they are both together. I was the same could only find one pump but luckily was my front one that had went. Have you tried zman and Clarke motorsports? Doddle to change I never even took the bumper off. There labeled ff and fr or something like that when you get a cess to them.
  12. Yeh thought that might be the case, any idea's on the other wire?
  13. Anybody? Need this done by tomorrow morning
  14. Brake fluid is a doddle if you have someone to work the peddle for you. Don't let the resiviour go dry!! I bought spare nipples and rubber grommets off fleabay before i did he brakes last year, If i remember correctly I only had to replace 1 nipple and 2 grommets. Just your donald duck Just remember the front callipers have two nipples, and bleed the proper sequence found somewhere on the forum(can't remember, saved on my PC not my laptop)
  15. How to for what? Coolant is just a plug at the bottom of the radiator, and full at the top. It's not a 100% replacement but do it every 2 years and will be just as good. Oil is simple drawn plug at bottom of oil sum and same for gearbox and diff. Doddle once you see them. Spark plugs are a doddle aswell just need to loosen some of the surrounding wire etc to allow access. Honestly one of the easiest cars I've serviced for location and access wise.
  16. Always do them all myself, much cheaper and know it's done right. Just be ocd and change everything more regular for peace of mind. I do the coolant, gearbox, diff every 2 year atleast as it's not that expensive and nothing beats fresh oil, just stick a note.of.whats done in the service book and keep invoices etc
  17. Xkr pulled up next to me at the airport pick up, sounded amazing and the guy was grannying it. Instant envy
  18. Also what am I ment to attach the silver cable to? Is it just an earth? And what's the cable with dc sticker on it for and where do I wire it? Sorry if these are basic questions but electrics isn't my thing. Would like to get all this done before it goes into the bodyshop so I don't risk messing up the new paint playing around with this
  19. Tap talk isn't playing ball with loading my image keeps getting to 70% then nothing Got it eventually just had to crop it
  20. Need a wee help folks, got all the interior stripped out and got the bracket that holds the base to the inside of the body off. I've tried pulling wiggling and twisting to get the last bit off but it's not wanting to budge. Don't want to be too forcefully and damage the panel. How do I get the last bit of the base out?
  21. Nice. Did you not get a telling off over the tannoy for using your phone on the forecourt? they done that to me a while back. I argued my case when i went in that it wont blow the place up as our pumps don't build static energy cause we have to hold them unlike the yanks but as far as they were concerned i nearly blew the place up.
  22. I have the whiteline drop links and arb's and have no complains about the quality, been fitted a year now and still looked in really good nick last week when i checked everything
  23. I've ordered the new interior aerial so will give this a bash when it arrives
  24. For the money think ill give it a bash, just get the guys to smooth over the aerial hole in the body. Just need to decide on a colour
