  1. I always love reading what people say about the motor trade when they obviously know nothing about it! If you want to know just a little bit of truth. general dealer markup is 20%. there will always be more margin in a vehicle the dealer bought at trade rather than a customers trade in. If you can establish which it is you will have a greater ability to bargain with the dealer. they are not trying to pull your pants down, they are making a living, if they were actually robbing everyone blind they would be retired by now. Dealers pay 20% VAT on the profit they make. Most people dont ever think about this and slate the dealer for trying to make a fortune. CAP and glasses are trade guides, they are prices often based on what a car would make at auction or a sale to the trade (especially CAP). Dont assume the value you might get shown is what your car is worth, its worth what the dealer is willing to pay. Dealers do also get it wrong, more often than you might think and can loose thousands on a bad deal. last but not least, if you think a dealers job is easy then give it a try yourself and see how many sleepless nights you suddenly have...
  2. Haha been there, wait until you wake up one morning ( in my case 11 months after birth) and realise the zed has to go. For me it was the realisation that i couldnt enjoy my car with my family anymore....
  3. I have a new in box zspeed one i bought but never fitted if you are interested?
  4. I have a set of standard 18's with no tyres, are you near north yorkshire?
  5. Id Agree, all be it done very well it was just delaying something because of a paperwork error. i did chuckle when they made reference to the mortgage signature meaning you created the funds.... Ill cancel the direct debit now!
  6. Is there even such a law as trespass in this country?
  7. I got bored of ios and having already had android i opted for a windows phone. Probably the biggest waste of a 400 quid phone you could ever have. Looks great, works fast but is probably 5 years behind ios and android. They havent even got a fully functioning ebay and facebook app yet! As soon as im in a position ill be going back the other way again which is a shame because the 5 percent greatness of this phone is overshadowed by the 95 percent dross!
  8. Yep, im pretty sure its green and white!
  9. I know the 350 has a powered amplifier for the aerial. I have a similar problem but havent yet taken the radio out to check if i have the wire connected or not!
  10. Id be interested in knowing if it can be done. I asked this a while back and it was generally deemed not possible without control units etc. Keep us posted!
  11. I was also told of a change to the part recently although when I swapped my oil filter off the part number was just the same as the last one so I don't know if the number has supposed to have changed or just an updated part. it was him that told me about the update
  12. Its on par with nissan mystic green. That was 640 quid a litre at the time although third parties did eventually get the mix and the price came down.
  13. I'd have guessed A85 URD on the reg plate.....
  14. I've also had a similar experience but in my case the seller claimed it was tested working before they sold it when it clearly doesn't. The seller did respond to my PM's but isn't remotely interested in resolving the situation so I've just accepted I've been burned this time around! Fortunately for me it wasn't hundreds of pounds but it still bites.....
  15. Pairing is only for the central locking. it might need to be programmed at the dealer or could even be missing the chip.... Keys and programming at dealers is expensive. If its a UK car I'd probably be bartering for a few hundred off the price or at very worst have them get it sorted. If its an import then getting keys sorted is even worse!
  16. And incase we are running the risk of getting way off topic it looks like a hugely respectable price for a car of this spec! Good luck with the sale.
  17. Very odd. Even the interior switches are UK spec ones, my JDM is different again. absolutely nothing about this car looks like JDM! either way, good for the new owner, it looks 100% UK Spec.
  18. Do you know where it was imported from? Headlight Washers and indicators on the left tell me its not a JDM import? along with UK clocks and UK spec rear bumper (although these could have been changed)
  19. Don't forget offset is also relative to the width of a wheel. a 20 offset will have a different outcome to arch gap on an 8 inch wheel to that of a 9 inch wheel. (as its measured from the centre of the wheel)
  20. I had mine flocked because it was littered with scratches. The only downside is the grey colour has faded where it has sat in the sun!
  21. For such an iconic colour I'm surprised to find that no one has yet done a midnight Purple II (or III) 350z. please do prove me wrong, I'd love to see the outcome! Its something that keeps spinning around in my mind from time to time but research says it wouldnt be a cheap job with the paint being pretty specialist and expensive. Is it really just too much money and hassle for a 350z? I wondered what your thoughts are? are there any better colours to do if its going to be different or would MPII be the way forward? Cheers Kev
  22. JDM Nismo Suspension = Great on track, interesting on road lol!
  23. I tend to buy jdm because for the same or less money you can get a much cleaner car underneath. although not the case with the 350z jdm cars usually have more toys too.
