  1. I've just got used to the squeeling! Mine are fine when up to temperature but tend to squeel a bit when plodding through town going to work. Personally, having a history of performance brakes it just comes with the territory nowadays, if you think yours are bad can I suggest you get along to a track day and have a listen to cars in the pits, it will probably make you feel better!
  2. Its a loan car. The fault is nissans, not the garage. They are doing you a favour. Too many people these days think they have a god given right to something fantastic. If you check your warranty paperwork it wont say you are entitled to one. just be happy you got something to get home in. as for the fuel issue, if the light comes on then put some in. Im sure you would be the first to complain if the dealer took your car for a drive and used your fuel.
  3. Congrats on your new purchase! Hope you enjoy and ride safe...
  4. I'd normally agree with most of what you say. however...... Long story short. Both my 350Z and my brothers 350Z went in for new discs. His Brembos were warped and mine were just well worn. Both cards had new discs on. both bedded in and within about 500 miles both started showing signs of vibrations. both then got progressively worse to not being liveable. Both replaced with EBC discs, bedded in and both ok 1000 miles on. The original discs were sent back to the manufacturer who were shocked but acknowledged it must have been faulty discs. .............................. On another note, different world but I work in the motorcycle industry and we see no end of warped discs. Its actually amazing how little runout causes such huge vibrations under breaking! ............................. And lastly, back on subject, a good friend of mine is a service advisor at a performance car garage and he says hardly anyone ever follows a running in procedure with new brakes. Most people dont even realise there is a procedure and 99% of discs are fine. We are talking porsche, mercedes etc etc. Sorry I meant it as a worst case scenario. Only messing, but I personally do think that what people claim as warping is just no bedding in procedure, eventually leading to pad deposits (DTV) rather than extreme braking: Another linky if anyone is interested: http://www.brakeworl...ARPED DISCS.pdf Dblock: (I'm sure you do know what it is check google images)
  5. would need to go hunting for plugs I guess! any chance of a picture of the factory plug on it?
  6. wow thats very nice! no sure you would get bonnet clearance though!
  7. I wonder if this would plug straight into my JDM?
  8. My Favourite engine! unfortunately I don't have a use for it but it seems like more than a fair price to me! Good luck with the sale!
  9. Were these JDM only or are they a different market all together? I just wonder if some cars would be pre wired for it.
  10. Various things do some sort of good. My current favourite is wd40 but i have used peanut butter and back to black aswell as tyre gel and other colour restorers.
  11. I wouldnt be too fussed for only 2 months. Mine usually stands for double that each year. I leave the battery connected and charge it every few weeks.
  12. Clocking is making a vehicle look like it has done different mileage to what it actually has. (usually a lot less). It is also illegal. What you need is mileage correction. all but the same thing only legal and slightly more acceptable! you can usually send your dash off to a company that will do it or you could look for someone local. putting your location up might help too! Cheers Kev
  13. We cant tax vehicles using our trade plates. All they do is act as tax for the vehicle they are on. you are in a pickle really. I would probably ask the garage to sort it before you drop it back on their forecourt. you might also find the V5 goes back to the previous owner first and not the garage. All depends on how they filled in the paperwork. Again best to clarify with the garage how they did it!
  14. Yes! The rears are supposed to be larger than front. If they are all the same then the car thinks the rears are going faster hence the tc cutting in
  15. Its what happens when you don't buy the nissan to ISO adapter and run new cables. not the prettiest thing I've ever seen!
  16. Bottom picture Green and White is the power wire to the Antenna Amp. This is probably fed off a blue wire from your head unit which is typically the remote power wire for AMP's. this gives you signal on the radio, without it it will be pretty poor! Your red and black wires are where someone has run new feeds to the speakers. The cut wires probably are the original speaker wires and other bose related which are no longer used which will be the source of your lack of power issue!
  17. Dont get me started. Yesterday I took my little fella shopping in tesco so we were in child and parent parking which was great with loads of room around the car. Came back to find a Trolley embeded in the passenger door of the car next to mine.... I was so lucky it wasnt mine but it could easily have been! people just dont seem to give 2 shits about anyone elses property these days!
  18. Thats cool. if you want one then its all good, perhaps my advice would be to at least try one before buying eh! back on the subject in hand, I'd expect you to have high insurance at 23 trying to insure a Harley like that. I presume you have tried the usual suspects (Carol Nash, Hastings, MCE, Bennets, Bike Sure, Devitt, Swinton, Ebike etc etc)
  19. Welcome to a thread of "its cheap its @*!#" and "it will probably cause your car to burst into flames and kill everyone on the planet!" My own personal findings are: Unbranded "lets call it chinese @*!# for the sake of this thread. Overall sound quality was just fine, plays everything, connect to ipod fine etc etc. no worse than any other branded unit I've had. What did let it down was the software, its a bit clunky but one thing in particular that spoiled it for me was when you switched the car off it didn't remember where in the song it finished playing and just started the last song played again, not the end of the world but enough to spoil the experience, there are other small things too like this that just get annoying. its obvious the software wasnt tested in the real world. What is great though is the features you can get for so little money in comparison. I have DVD/TV/Reverse camera function/Ipod connectivity/Nissan Logo/changeable LED colours for about £100 which is obscene really! It also doesn't crash, works every time and does what it says on the tin. and for that reason I accept the limitations of the unit. Best described as the difference between an Iphone and an Android. sure it works the same but the iphone has a certain slickness that you just love!
  20. My advice would be to buy something smaller and run that for a year then look at it again. Have you actually ridden a Harley 883? I was so disappointed when I rode one it really spoiled my opinion of Harley Davidsons. Your head is saying "cool bike" "looks great" "rides sweet" when in reality it was Heavy bike, heavy clutch, heavy gearbox, no handling etc etc..... Harley is a lifestyle choice I suppose but they don't build the best bikes and if you don't really look after it it will rot before your eyes!
  21. I'm guessing that would be this car? Its my brother although he wasn't driving at the time! His car is in for an MOT today so it was being driven by a guy from the garage.
  22. You cay buy a uk fog light and replace one of your reverse lights or rewire what you have and use a red bulb. You can use a simple switch but it must be illuminated when the fog light is on. Just wire this through a simple relay to ignition live and you are set. Pretty straight forward really!
  23. yeah I presume its the AMP. whatever it is its pretty bloody shocking! do you know what powers it? I'm wondering if removing the stock radio has taken away the power supply to it.
  24. I have an old Tamiya TL01 chassis from about 10 years ago that I rebuild to drift spec a few years back. Bought every hop up going and a big motor made it a lot of fun. Put an AE86 shell on it and everything! Started out with ABS plastic pipe tyres but upgraded to proper drift tyres since..... I don't use it much but I do dig it out every now and then...
