No need to leave forum mate. Plenty of people on here who no longer have a Z. Why not stick around
-
Apologies, my bad I thought they were the same No need for apologies dude!

Welcome back

There's no USB in the 09. I used to have one. Instead, there's a single analogue connection which can be used to connect an Ipod via a lead going from the headphone jack on the Ipod.

Any way my 370z can sound like this? Or how would you describe it's tone?
sipar69 replied to gstraw's topic in 370z General
As above, you won't get that sound on a Z. Have you considered adding high flow cats to the stock exhaust? Might be an option if you find most of the exhausts available for the Z are too deep sounding for you. -
Yup. Probably just need to ease off on the amount of wax and use some elbow grease to get rid of the smearing.

I think (but not sure) 09 doesn't have DVD playback. For those that do, apparently, there's a bypass kit which removes the block that only allows you to watch while parked. But you'd have to be properly stupid to watch a DVD while driving!

Repellent, repellant, repugnant, revolting....I could go on....

Cute cat

Well I guess we need people to buy new cars otherwise there'd be no second hand market. I like the F Type but on pure looks alone I prefer..... http://www.extravaganzi.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Maserati-GranTurismo-S-Limited-Edition-2.jpg

Might want to consider the new Cobra HFCs. I have a set and I'm very happy with them. Apparently they're designed to reduce the chance of MOT failures compared to the Berks I'm not sure when they're officially being released but you could contact Cobra direct for info. Mark at Abbey also knows about them ( they fitted mine). My car has just had it's first MOT and no problem with emisions and that's with Berk/Akrapovic combo. Good to hear. I'm not trying to worry anyone with the Berks by the way.. I was just told the Cobras reduced what I'm assuming is already a fairly small risk of an MOT issue.

Repellent. Don't know why but I almost never prefer the look of aftermarket wheels on a 370.

When we first took the Nismo out for a drive to a pub in Sussex (Stag at Balls Cross to be precise - which is v nice pub!), the landlady, who likes her cars, looked at it through the window and said to a guy at the bar - Ooh nice I think it's a Porsche. I was proud to tell her it's a Nissan
-
I had a few comments like that from work mates before they actually saw the car and then when they did they suddenly changed their tune. To me a hairdressers car has always been something convertible with not much go. Like a KA convertible, MX5 or Porsche Boxster?! Basically cars which are convertible and don't have enough power to make them true performance cars. Although in saying that the MX5 isn't a bad car nor the Porsche. I did loose track in the end of the positive comments the zed got. Everyone from kids shouting out "nice car mister" as I drove past, Mister? Were you driving through the 19th century?

Second that. If people on here can't answer a Z related question, nobody can!
-
It's my recognition of my own limited ability that would keep me well away from a track. I'd probably go so slowly that it wouldn't be worth the bother
-
I had the kit from the guy in the US on my previous 370 as it didn't come with a reversing camera as standard. It was a really good kit - the picture was great. If we can get someone supplying something similar over here I think there would be quite a few takers.

Drive way problems ~ help appreciated
sipar69 replied to GMballistic's topic in Off Topic Discussion
At least you have a drive. My Z has to live on the street and it's like musical chairs trying to get the space outside the house -
You must mean just the 350s though Ekona, surely! Considering all the unflattering things you say about the 370 I'd hate to see the sort of 'wave' you give them. I'm guessing the two fingered variety

Not keen on wraps to be honest but if you're gonna do it I also vote for matt white. Might as well take the opportunity to make it look a bit different

Another zed bites the dust :( [update -replacement zed pics pg3]

Have you thought about a breathable car cover to keep the poop off? They're pretty good so long as you make sure the car is clean before you put them on. -
Oddly enough, HFCs don't make much difference to the sound of the 370 Nismo exhaust (which is why I've just added a different exhaust) - write up to follow soon

Can't view or call contacts from my paired I Phone
sipar69 replied to w31ney's topic in 370z General
Fair enough - I guess we all have different distraction levels - personally I'm hopelessly easy to distract and I feel like I really have to focus most of the time behind the wheel (perhaps because I've not been driving all that long). I agree with you in that I prefer not to speak to my passenger if I'm concentrating on a busy road etc. -
Can't view or call contacts from my paired I Phone
sipar69 replied to w31ney's topic in 370z General
I don't entirely agree Colin. I am certain there is some research which found that use of 'hands free' in cars is as distracting as using the phone in the normal way. With regard to your analogies, I personally find trying to change the radio station or the tracks on the audio system quite distracting in itself, but I'm fortunate that there's usually someone next me being the DJ so I don't need to worry about it. I agree that children can be a very serious distraction, but I suspect most parents would say there are times when they have to have the kids in the car, so it's an unavoidable distraction. I doubt that most phone calls are so important that they simply have to be taken in the car. And to be honest, I strongly suspect that speaking to someone who is physically present is less distracting than speaking to someone on the other end of the phone - I think we're naturally inclined to need to concentrate more when the voice is at the end of the phone, and the person in the car is at least able to see if you suddenly come upon on a potential hazard and (if they've got any sense) shut up and let you focus on dealing with it. Of course it wouldn't be practical to ban every potential distraction in cars and I'm not actually suggesting it would be right to univerally ban the use of hands-free calls in cars. No doubt there are people whose jobs etc mean that they need to make calls. However, my preference would be for people to think about whether they really need to take a call in the car and if not, perhaps just wait until they get to wherever they're going. I feel much the same way trying to fight my way through all the numpties on the platform at Waterloo walking obliviously along with their faces buried in their phones instead of looking where they're going. I can't help wondering if the email or text they're reading is sooooo important it can't wait until they've got off the platform and out of my way
