  1. I got some rubber mats from eBay which lasted quite a long time. Only problem was the holes weren't reinforced and they eventually split. Best to get some with the holes reinforced.
  2. Ahhh I'm obviously not very observant
  3. £5K? I'm thinking typo...! http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201219469723863/sort/default/usedcars/model/370_z/make/nissan/page/1/radius/1500/quicksearch/true/postcode/tw14na?logcode=p
  4. Nothing like as good as some of the amazing shots on here but I was always quite chuffed with this shot of our big fur ball of a cat, Sonny. (Taken on a fairly cheap Samsung digital)
  5. Very nice! Would love one of those (especially with added cat!)
  6. I've got exactly the same problem - washed the car yesterday when the weather looked like it had picked up and it rained about 2 minutes after I finished I can live with that, but I do worry about damage from passing vans etc. Front wing got scraped within a few months of getting the car home - fortunately, the marks were very light and polished out easily. Next time we move I'm definitely looking for a place with off street parking!
  7. Glad you're ok. Must have been a real shock
  8. Thought I'd give these guys a plug - Autowerks in Slough http://www.the-autowerks.com/ After six months of careful parking and avoiding scrapes, I took a tight corner too quickly and put a nasty mark on a rear wheel - no excuses, just bad driving A mobile refurb would have been convenient, but I'd read that the Black Edition wheels are tricky to get right....so...I got the details of Autowerks from Nissan who use them for this sort of work. Through no fault of Autowerks, the drop-off day went very badly: Stage 1 - An hour-plus drive through rush hour traffic to deliver the car, long walk to the station in the rain followed by two trains home - fine so far - I was expecting that. Stage 2 - Just settling down with a cup of tea and get a call from Autorwerks - they can't get the wheel off because the locking wheel nut (which we were given by Nissan, Slough, as they couldn't find the one that came with the car ) was badly worn. So...frantic calls to find a dealer with one I could borrow (Slough don't have one and it will take 2 weeks to order one ) followed by a £50 cab ride to collect and drop it off in Slough in time for the work to be done, then the walk (still raining) and the trains home. All in all, a day off work that started with leaving the house at 7.30 am and ended with finally being able to sit down at 4.30 pm In fairness, Autorwerks did offer me a lift to the station second time around, but I was so wound up by then that I needed the air! Anyway, Autorwerks did a great job on the wheel. You'll see from the website that their process is more extensive than a mobile refurb. The end result is worth it in my book. I'd definitely recommend them for this sort of work if you're within travelling distance. Their service was friendly and the cost (£85 inc VAT) compares well to a half decent mobile refurb (the car was with them overnight). Few pics below: Ouch... That's better.....
  9. Fantastic (although you did get the slightly inferior colour) Welcome to the club!
  10. Can anyone advise on the best way to get a replacement piece of trim for my Z's door? Fairly sure it's the part shown here, but this is a US website so I don't know if the part number would be same. http://www.everythingnissan.com/Item-1-2011-370Z-Left-Belt-w-strip-p/808211ea0b-1447765-1117742.htm It's basically the external back trim which runs the length of the door (on the outside) between the door and window. I noticed that one of mine (passenger side) has a scuff on it under the B-pillar. No idea how it got there and not very visible but I'd like to get it replaced if it's not too costly. I'm assuming it would be fairly straightforward to replace - no need for windows to be removed etc? Is a Nissan dealer the only option? Thanks.
  11. Is that near Sunningdale by any chance? By coincidence, I think I might have seen it as well recently
  12. The harness I have is from a chap in the States on the US forums. It was expensive for what it is but the pin-outs arent common knowledge and he uses the actual Nissan connectors so its 100% plug and play. Well worth it for the hassle it saves and still cheaper than most aftermarket solutions. Technically I could just go rip out my connectors and post a pic, but Brian put a lot of effort in to getting it to work so wouldnt rip off his work. Also you will have to work out all the values to programme the Nav unit to display the grid lines properly which Brian gives you the figures for. Again I could reproduce them but its belittling his very good work. This is the kit I have - http://www.carkitcompany.com/nissan-370 ... -camera-ho And it in action: I've been looking at this site. Did you buy the camera separately? And was it easy to install and set up?
  13. I've no experience of this, but I can't imagine that a proper replacement part should be anything other than a perfect fit. I'm sure people who know more will put you straight on this though. Good luck.
  14. You should used have a semicolon after 'posts'.

    Spacers...?

Thanks. Doesn't really feel like it will add much to the car then.

    Spacers...?

I've seen a lot of references to spacers - I've got an idea of what they are but not really sure what benefits they bring.....? If I decided to get some can anyone recommend a good set for the 370?
  17. Just out of interest - doesn't the GT Edition come with darker wheels? They look like the standard silver colour (maybe just a trick of the light?)
  18. Yep. I've also been very happy with the Stillen. I did have a vibration issue briefly but it was nothing to do with fitment - just a particular quirk of my Z, which was sorted quite easily. Tom at TGM pointed out that he thought it was a solid and well made exhaust. If you look at enough posts in US forums it becomes apparent that there are occasional examples of people having "issues" with pretty much every make of exhaust. I think we hear more about them on the Stillen because it's one of the biggest sellers.
  19. Really useful write-up Will. I was seriously considering adding the Berks, but the clearance issue and conclusions re the noise level have made my mind up. I will stick with just the Stillen which I agree sounds great as it is.
  20. I've got quite into the detailing lark. Got a cupboard full of goodies including some Dodojuice Supernatural Wax, which I'd highly recommend. Working in an office all week, it's nice to be out in the fresh air. I often get passers by coming to talk to me about the car. Trouble is that with the Z living outside in the road it only takes a few hours for the grime to start building up again. (Meguirs Quick Detailer is pretty good for a quick spruce up between washes.)
